Boeing Gdansk

Hi all, does anyone here work at Boeing in Gdansk, especially in the electrical part? If so, could you share your opinions? I have an opportunity to join, but I also have an offer from another company and I’m having a hard time to decide.

What "task" come up after having a final interview at Boeing, Seal Beach?

I'm in the market for a new job. Most companies I have interviewed with usually do two phone screenings and then a panel interview.

This is for an engineering role.

I got an email from Boeing with a list of questions. This served as the screening call.

It was followed up by a STAR Panel interview where I was asked 6 STAR formatted questions followed by a series of technical questions. It went over and lasted 1.5 hours.

I got an email two days later (on a Friday) from the recruiter. The recruiter told me to expect some "additional task" to appear on the Boeing website mid next week.

What can these additional task be? I understand each location does their interview process differently.

Thank you in advanced.

Does Boeing insurance cover weight loss drugs?

Friend of mine is looking at options for losing weight, and was wondering if weight loss drugs are covered by Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Ilinois health insurance, for the Boeing plan. I didn't know and thought I'd ask here.

LVL 4 VS LVL 3 Engineer

Non speea engineer going from 3 to 4. Are there any differences between the two levels like bonus structure or hourly charging? Or are they virtually the same at a different pay scale.

401k loan if left the company

Hello everyone,

I am wondering what happens if someone employed at Boeing has taken a loan from 401k and then leaves the company. Does s/he have to pay the full loan when left this company or can the repayment plan be continued through fidelity? Thank you.

do you think splitting Boeing Defence and Comercial into seperate companies is a good Idea?

my line of thinking is that Defense and Commercial seem like pretty separate businesses.

The problems seem to be more with the commercial half rather than defense.

the move to Arlington makes it seem that the defense business is much more priority from the commercial

The fact that people are (seriously) blaming Boeing for the Air Senegal incident is so sad and annoying.

First of all, what I can promise everyone is that no one would care if if were an Airbus aircraft, but second, do people fail to understand that this was due to the plane sliding off the runway? Let's also not forget that the involved aircraft was a 737-300 (i believe), this variant was introduced in EARLY 1984... So even if this were an aircraft issue, this would 110% be due to its age.

Its honestly just sad because this all shows how stupid and gullible people really are...

Spirit question

I understand that this is a board related to BA, but I have a question regarding Spirit. In their latest earnings report, they lost almost half a billion dollars due to building Airbus planes. I am wondering if Spirit is contractually obligated to fulfill Airbus orders even if they are clearly losing money on them.

Hiring process help

I am trying to help someone get a mechanic job but he has not filed tax returns for all of his past jobs as he wasn’t making enough a few years to require them. This makes it difficult because the background check will not be able to verify the employment. Do I leave all of those jobs off his resume or how best to approach this?

DOJ sets critical date in potential Boeing criminal case

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has set May 31 as the date we will learn whether the DOJ will ask a judge to restart a criminal case against Boeing.

“DOJ has told the victim families and their lawyers that we will be the first to know their decision,” Attorney Mark Lindquist, who represents dozens of families of the 346 people who died in two MAX-8 crashes five years ago, said.

At the time, the DOJ began a criminal probe into Boeing but paused — or deferred it — after the company paid $2.5 billion and agreed to improve quality and safety.

Calculating the value of your total compensation package?

Anyone know a good way to calculate how much the health insurance, 401k match, etc is worth?

Mention of metrics being pushed for IAM

Recently at our standup manager mentioned that they were going to implement some arbitrary kind of number/metric we had to achieve. Of course our most vocal IAM union team mate piped up and said they can't enforce it. Any thoughts?

WITAF is going on over there?!

Everytime I see Boeing in the news it's something about how corners were cut or bolts are missing. Is Airbus or Embraer having the same issues...is this industry wide? Has the problem(s) been identified and solutions in place?

Emergency alarm system

Firefighter lockout not withstanding, how is it in this day and age that older Boeing buildings have no automated central fire/emergency alarm system, instead relying on "word of mouth" and air horns during an emergency. WTF? I mean, you can get a system that does this for your home for less than $100. Safety first??

Company Morale

How’s the morale at the company nowadays considering all of the bad press? Seems like anywhere I turn people are distrusting Boeing and even refuse to travel out of fear. Are the leaders doing anything to address the public criticism internally?

Paris to Seattle flight diverts to Canadian arctic town due to 'heat smell' in cabin

I am posting this because it was a Boeing aircraft. From what I read, it reads that everyone did their job. YMMV

An Air France flight from Paris to Seattle diverted to a remote Canadian airport after passengers reported a "heat smell" in the cabin Tuesday.

... Air France confirms that the crew of flight #AF338 on 7 May 2024 from Paris (CDG) to Seattle (SEA) in a Boeing 787-900 decided to divert to Iqaluit airport (YFB), Canada, following the appearance of a heat smell in the cabin.
