Having referral helps?

In many companies it gets you atleast an interview. Does it help in Airbus? Does it work if it is cross country referral?

Typical timeline and diffeerent status

Can anyone explain to me different status the career portal for AIRBUS shows, I applied 3 internship positions in Germany in last 7 days and all shows "Application Received". What I also saw was for two of them, the job ad on the career page is no longer there! I have reference from an employee working currently in UK.

And what are typical timelines for the status to change? If someone can share their experience then it would be very insightful! I am excited to join airbus and learn and grow as a Master's student!

Calling Recruitment Business partner for internship

I came across this really interesting internship at Airbus, I want to address the cover letter to some person and not generic to whom it may concern or dear sir/madam. Through LinkedIn, I found contact information for a recruitment business partner working in the same location. Is it okay to call them and inquire about the position and, in general, to whom to address the application? I really want to get an internship with Airbus, as I think it will be a really good work environment for me. Any tips on internships and cover letters in general will also be highly appreciated.

Searching for networking opportunities and advice from people who work in data analytics / science

Hi Everyone

I’m not sure if this is okay to post here, but I thought it’d make sense to see if there are any data scientists or analysts working at Airbus in Toulouse who I can connect with. Apologies if this isn’t the right place for this!

I’m looking to connect with anyone who works in data analytics or data science, especially if you’ve transitioned into the field from a non-technical background. If you or someone you know has been through this, I’d love to connect and get some advice!

A bit about me: I’m 28, originally from Los Angeles, but I’ve also lived in Montreal (US & CAD citizen), Copenhagen, and now Toulouse. Last year, I had a near-death experience that made me realize it was time to stop putting off my dreams of living in France. So I finally made the jump and moved here in August on a working holiday visa. Since moving, I’ve reached a B2 level in French (still trying to reach C1!) and now I’m focused on pivoting into a career in data analytics. My bachelor’s degree is in Environmental Studies & Economics, and I have three years of professional experience in software sales, but I’ve decided to follow my curiosity and pursue something new.

I’m not really sure where to begin, so if you have any advice or know of programs like an alternance or anything else that could help me make this career pivot, I’d be so grateful. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!

Airbus Timeline

Hello all Airbus engineers,

I have a question. I'd like to ask you about Airbus's future plans and how it would impact current and future junior pilots. With the progress being made today, it seems that the future could look quite different to what is looks like now.

How is the hydrogen-future research going? I've read and studied myself (in university), and it seems hydrogen propulsion systems might not be much greener and are significantly more difficult to achieve that our current model. What are the chances of a medium size commercial hydrogen aircraft entering service by 2035 (as per Airbus's plans)? Seems optimistic.

What about single pilot-operations, maybe in the next generation single-aisle planes? Is 2040 a fair estimate? 2045? Wide-body single-pilot by 2055?

Asking for a general timeline accounting for retraining of Airbus staff on new models / creating new sites to build new aircraft, supply chain impacts, union backlashes, regulatory hurdles, current backlog, existing aircraft...

I'm asking since I hope to graduate university soon, I have to make a decision on what to do next. Ideally, I'd love to be a pilot, but well...

I've spoken to some very kind, wonderful and encouraging pilots, thank you! Right now, I'm looking for a more internal perspective from current engineers.

“Auto brake Off” FWC Callout (A320 FAM)

Hey everybody !

Quick question, I’ve realised not long ago that under certain situations the FWC autocallouts “Auto brake off” whenever we disconnect the auto brake at higher speeds than usual (I believe). When we disconnect it around taxi speed it does not call it out.

I’ve done a lot of research through the FCOM searching for this thing and as you can imagine I haven’t been successful finding the answer.

Googling it I’ve found some not fact checked answers like it is a software update and that sort of stuff. Clearly it is not critical to know it but I really wish I did.

Thanks in advance and have a great day !

Does anyone know why where I live the a320ceo sounds different than in other places, I have been hearing that sound for years, it sounds both on takeoff and on approach, I like that sound especially on takeoff as it is in the video, I would appreciate it

Content of heat exchanger.

How many heat exchangers are typically found in an aircraft like the Airbus A320 (Narrow Body), Boeing B777 (Wide Body) considering various applications such as

  1. the Environmental Control System (ECS),
  2. Engine systems,
  3. Avionics System,

and 4. The hydraulic system? Could you also explain their roles in these systems? I'm new to aeronautics and eager to understand more about these components. Thanks!

Airbus A330-900 Approved airport capability class.

Hi Reddit , I have one question. What airport class capatability is the Airbus A330-900Neo? I only ask as in 10 Hours I'm planning to fly a Airbus A330-900Neo from KEWR to Possibly either LPPT or LIEB however I'm not sure if The A330 can fly to LIEB I just would love a list or document citing where the aircraft can fly to. And I don't wish to fly to an airport the beautiful beast can't fly to such as possibly Ibiza. I know for sure it can fly into Lisbon I've done it a thousand times in MSFS 2020 and I've seen it be done in real life it's Ibiza that's the question.
