The emergency sirens are tested at 12pm and 7pm on the first Friday of each month
There are three parts to the test - a sustained siren (representing a weather emergency - aka, a tornado), a warbled siren (representing an "other" emergency), and an announcement (for authorities to convey critical information via the emergency loudspeakers in case of ongoing emergency).
If the weather is (or is forecast to be) severe on the first Friday, the test will not take place.

Hello! I am starting to consider pregnancy and am in need of an OB. I want a woman. And I would really really like it if my OB delivered all of her own babies. But I understand that’s probably unlikely with IU health. I am not restricted to IU health. I have anthem blue cross blue shield insurance.
TYIA!!
Hey Bloomington, I found a set of keys in an alley way off of N College and 7th. If you're missing your keys pm me, and I'll try to get them to you.
Forgot to mention they have a key scanner similar to those you would use at a sorority of Frat.
What is wrong with Volvos? LOL
Anyone in B-Town have good tire recs? Looking to have all four replaced on the cheap if possible. Thanks!

Hello! My partner and I have been looking at making the drive down to Bloomington to see Shakey Graves this Thursday 12/5. Due to her work scheduling system, she didn’t know if she would be free until Thanksgiving.
While looking to purchase tickets on the Bluebird website, we found out that many tickets have been bought by scalpers. They’re being resold for 50-100% more. It’s infuriating.
Is anybody selling their tickets? Or is it worth trying to buy tickets the day of at the Bluebird?
Hoosiers took a bath in the NET ranking and the AP Top 25. Not good.

Looking to sell some things for money in time for Christmas, and I know people are also shopping for Christmas presents so hopefully it's a win-win, just trying to make sure I'm not trying to sell to the wrong crowd
Come down to Upland’s tasting room on profile parkway Saturday and Sunday 12-7/8 from 12-4. Beers, food trucks and hella artists!
I called the local Honda dealer to see how much it would cost to have a Honda CRV from Carvana inspected and they couldn't give me a price and then transferred me to a number without anyone available. When they thought I might be purchasing one from them, they were OH so helpful! Any advice on who to take it to that is trustworthy. it's a 2021 CRV with 18,000 miles and I want to be able to take good care of it. Also, everything I know about cars would fit on the tip of a pencil :)
Had anyone else noticed the military jets that have been flying over town? It's happened 3 times in the last week. I'm gonna assume it's a training drill for Crane- does anyone know more details?
Anyone know what was up with the two jets that flew low over downtown? Scared my cat into hiding
My friend and I love playing tennis, but neither of us have any formal training training at all. I We love to play each other, but I would really like to focus on establishing the fundementals of my swing and serve. If you have a little bit of experience, or are just looking to play, please let me know!
Free Winter Festival event for all ages this Thursday at Ivy Tech. Open to the public, you don't need to be a student for your family to attend.
Noticed about 3 or 4 fire trucks and other various first responders at a house near the hill. Does anyone know what happened?
My business wants our window painted for the holiday season! Haven’t had any luck on Google. Any suggestions?
Does anyone have interest in getting together to play or collaborate on some music? I have been learning piano, a lot of classical at this time and I'm really interested in just getting social with other musicians at this time but also actually playing some music. Thanks!
Hi! I am looking for a vet that takes walk-ins, and I found Bean Blossom in Nashville. Does anybody here have any experience with them? If so, do you recommend them? I am also trying to get an idea of what I should expect to pay for a cat wellness visit if anyone is able to speak on that. Thank you!
Good people, please stop bagging your groceries at the self checkout. The big counter behind the self checkout is a bagging station. Please stop going to the self checkout with a cart full of items and slowly and meticulously packing your groceries. You can either scan things in your cart with the scanning gun or quickly scan things and put them back in your cart to go to the bagging station.
I totally understand the desire to scan and bag, but you are not actually saving time and are backing up the line. It makes you look unaware of the world around you and/or inconsiderate of others around you.
Relatedly, I wonder why the change resulted in this behavior. It was not such a big issue before they reorganized the checkout area.
I’m looking for a homeless shelter or someplace aside from goodwill/Salvation Army to donate a lot of winter clothes.
Any recommendations on places to donate where I know it would not be resold and instead just given to people in need?
