What does he do? How come his face is everywhere?
Only seeing coed leagues online? Interested anything in la to the sgv. West side and torrence too far.
Looking for festivals or celebrations to join. Im a non Indian trying to experience it for the first time time. Maybe even restaurants to try. Anything you can recommend?
Hi all, title pretty much says it.
I’m selling a car for <$10k and want to sell it privately to maximize profit. So far Craigslist has been filled with scammer texts. I posted on Nextdoor, Craigslists, and pending posting on FB marketplace.
What are the best sites to post for selling your car and advice on selling it privately? I saw LA doesn’t allow you to post a for sale sign on your car anymore so tryna gauge my options here. Thank you!
I keep seeing this restaurant pop up on some of the food related YouTube channels I subscribe to, and I'm very curious about trying it. I really want to hit up the Koreatown location next time I head to the Wiltern.
Has anyone been there yet? Is it worth the hype and the time it takes to wait in line?
Might have to start commuting once a week from the SD area for the short term future. What's the best way to commute from Union Station? Are there vanpools or carpools I'm not finding? | even considered renting a car to get me from the station to the office, but it doesn't look like there's much options on Get Around.
Maybe I'm just better off driving from SD??
Hi I don’t know if this is normal now but two people have asked me all kind of questions, personal and financial just to show me an apartment, I just want to see it and if interested I don’t mind answering anything pertaining to the application but to ask me a bunch of stuff just to show it to me feels weird and invasive. Is it ok for me to tell him I just want to see it and then answer his questions?
I am a creative type but I don’t like it fancy (i.e., without boutiques and hipster coffee). Are there cheaper, less gentrified places to live in LA where other creatives (musicians, street artists) are? I have no idea where this would be, if it exists.
Anyone know a cheap chill central gym in Hollywood or WeHo area? Lmk :)))
Are you getting a lot of trick or treaters tonight for Halloween? More than last year? Less? What part of LA County are you in? I am near East LA. Less this year than last for sure.
Does the koreatown dash bus run on regular schedule for halloween?
curious if it runs later
I hear the Halloween parade is super cool but I assume it'll be busy. That's fine because i have a motorcycle and can fit in-between traffic.
But I'm not really a loud music party guy. Plus I'll need to find a place to put my gear if I wanna go dancing.
Any suggestions? Will the twinks be out tonight? I'm not gay I'm just asking for a friend u know I'm just asking I ain't like that u know
I watch a lot of youtubers who live in LA and follow some LA lifestyle influencers on social media. It seems like they never are barefoot, or if they do wear any shoe, it's with a sock. I have lived in a few East Coast states, and I only wear socks with closed toe shoes. Otherwise, I'm barefoot or wear sandals. If my feet are really cold in my house, I wear those thick slipper socks. I'm talking about the thin, normal socks. I would never just wear those in my house or out with slides. If it's above 40 degrees, I don't ever wear closed toe shoes out except to work. The weather is relatively nice all year in LA, so why are people wearing socks in their house or when they go out always wearing closed toe shoes? I understand men not wanting their feet to show in public. Otherwise, I'm just confused. Edited for grammar
I'm queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent.. basically, every gray area, I'm in it. I don't really connect with a lot of "traditional" white gay male culture. Would I find my weirdos (affectionate) in WeHo? Or is that not really the vibe?
Measure G would add an Executive Branch to the Board of Supervisors. This person would be elected by the voters in the County. The Measure would also enlarge the Board from its current 5 members to 9 (like the US Supreme Court). The idea is that 9 Districts, each electing its own Supervisor, would give the People more representation. It would add an Ethics Commission, like LA has. All of this at no expense to the citizens. Like George Bush senior pledged in his campaign, "read my lips: no new taxes." Can you believe that? Do you think this is a Revolutionary Reform, or a waste of time? Will LA benefit from it? Hi all, I am living in LA since last month for a six months period for my PhD thesis. I live on Beloit Ave, near the intersection with Ohio and I usually go to UCLA by bus, using the 6 and 17.
Because of this I have never thought about buying a car. Next week my girlfriend will come visit me and I want to show her around. Can you tell me which are, in your opinion, the places reachable by bus? We will take a trip around the various parks in California but for the rest of the time we will stay in LA. (I will obviously take her to Santa Monica)
Hey yall I’ve been having genuinely the worst time in this job market. I’ve done mainly retail and food since I started working in HS and am still trying to figure out what “career” I want to pursue.
It seems like regardless of how well an interview goes i always get ghosted or rejected (even though Im definitely qualified, if anything over).
I wish I could work with literally anything behind the scenes. Data entry, picking and packing, graphic design, petsitting, IDK. I’m great at these things but I feel like nowhere is willing to give me a chance because I’ve been out of work for a few months.
It’s hard when u don’t have resources or a support system behind you. Even trying to get a job through parks&rec is an incredibly tough position to land because of sheer volume.
Where do you guys work? I know only a small percent of autistic people do, and even less probably happily— but I need advice where we fit in? 🥲 I’ve tried dog daycares, remote, stocking, etc. with no luck over the last 6 months. I have kind of mild agoraphobia after COVID so I would rather less-customer based but I don’t care at this point I just need to pay rent 🙂↕️.
I am wanting to drive from LA to Flagstaff in one day as part of my USA road trip I am doing next year, what's the best time to leave so I am not stuck in traffic getting out of LA, would 6am be a good call? I will be staying in Santa Monica
I heard that it’s mostly water but yet it’s on the list of top tier gas?
Our next-door neighbors are an absolute nuisance to our whole neighborhood. This couple fights loudly and constantly, often waking our infant daughter up from sleep. They seem to work in the service industry, so their fights at home are during my regular office hours, or at 3 AM. Cops have been called a dozen times in the past 6 months for disturbing the peace, but there’s never any further ramifications than doing a check-in. The girlfriend has truly erratic behavior that we have caught on security cameras, such as stripping naked in the middle of the street after getting in a fistfight with the boyfriend, or popping a squat to piss in the road instead of walking 30 feet to her home bathroom.
The couple rents, and one of our other neighbors is friends with the remote owner of the house. Unfortunately the owner is washing their hands of the matter and putting it on their property manager, who isn’t lifting a finger because they’re afraid to deal with this couple. There are 3 other neighbors along with us who have been trying to push for eviction on the basis of disorderly behavior, but now we’re at a loss on what our options are for dealing with this couple if the owner won’t cooperate. Are there any other paths here?
So my niece got stood up last minute by her friends and now she's alone. She doesn't want to trick or treat so my question is are there any events in or around the south bay area where I can take her? She has a costume and is a huge anime fan but at this point anything will do. Pumpkin patch, haunted house, or anything more on the teen friendly side? Sorry for the last minute post but any insight is greatly appreciated thanks!
Those living in LA, who have the torture of an HMO plan and even more niche, who have any spinal issues...I am having a difficult time with Medi-cal, being that my needs go beyond the basic check-up. If anyone has advice, recs, and more, I'd appreciate it.
As of now, I'm looking for a primary care physician who is very good, preferably a woman of color or one who deals with chronic pain, back, and spine issues?
In general, how do people feel about Healthnnet vs LA Care? I hear Kaiser is good, but it behaves in a private manner, so I obviously can't get that plan.
Any advice or recommendations are appreciated.
Thank you!
Seriously. Everytime I go to Erewhon (by beverly grove) I notice that theres some one (usually a straight white male) loudly and proudly wearing a maga hat and walking around like its normal. Even an employee I spoke to about this said it's not uncommon for people to wear MAGA stuff in the store.
Erewhon needs to make a statement about this. It makes me feel unsafe going and supporting Erewhon knowing theres a bunch of people feeling empowered to rock maga gear.
People arent rocking it or nazi attire in Whole Foods, so whats up with it happening in Erewhon?
Just wondering how this parade may affect traffic in the EARLY AM.
I live about an hour east of LAX, her flight leaves at 8:30am, we were planning on leaving at 4:30am to give her ample time. She’s worried people will heading to parade that early.
I know I’ll be pretty much screwed after dropping her off, but do you anticipate traffic to be even worse tomorrow? Should we leave earlier?
I am looking for recommendations for a clean spa where I can just chill? Any one been to WII?
So I recently discovered how great flying out of the Burbank airport is, as I flew out of there for a short trip to NY about a month ago. No LAX craziness, direct flight, and I even did a red eye so I didn't lose an entire day to travel with the time difference.
Now I have to fly back to NY for the december holidays and it looks like there aren't any direct flights after december 12th? I went on Kayak and checked each airline's websites individually, and nothing. Do they just not offer those flights around the holidays?
I’ve always wanted to live in LA it’s always been my dream.
How much do you think I need to move here ? I was thinking so save 20k ???!
Any recommendations on places or where to start? I would like advice from people who are familiar with the north Hollywood arts district.
Our friends on r/London have been spilling the beans on this glorious establishment to entice influencers/visitors to visit and keep the actual good spots a secret
Which eatries would be the Angus Steakhouse of LA?
How fun is WeHo Halloween?
