Artsakh was the tenth province of the Kingdom of Armenia (189 BC - 387 AD) and a region of Caucasian Albania (387 to 7th cent). From the 7th to 9th centuries, it was under Arab control. In 821, it formed the Armenian principality of Khachen and by the year 1000 was proclaimed the Kingdom of Artsakh.

Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is an unrecognized republic in the Caucasus region.

Artsakh was a province of the Kingdom of Armenia from 189 BC. In 821, it formed the Armenian principality of Khachen and around the year 1000 was proclaimed the Kingdom of Artsakh, which was one of the last medieval eastern Armenian kingdoms and principalities to maintain its autonomy following the Turkic invasions of the 11th to 14th centuries.

Armenian casualties in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh-Karabakh war?

Hello everyone,

Is there anywhere, any database/list or information about Armenian/Artsakh military casualties In the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war? I didn’t found anything. The MoD of Azerbaijan published a list (providing their names, rank and date of birth) of its servicemen KiA and MiA. Is there anything similar for the Armenian/artsakh side?

Any telegram or database kind of thing?

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I'm excited to share the movie trailer for my documentary "Peace for Armenia." It highlights issues faced by Armenians in the diaspora and homeland, focusing on the long-term impact of the genocide and the conflict in Artsakh. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

NAASR event: Unpacking the Hate and Pressure Campaign Against Artsakh Armenians

Ongoing right now, probably will be posted on youtube later - so I will update this post with the url. This event is not announced on the Pashinyan-run r/Armenia of course, given that a substantial focus (appears to be the main focus so far) of the event is the oppression and silencing and ignoring and general lack of concern towards the Artsakh refugees by the Republic of Armenia.

Civilnet Video titled: "The Last Days in Artsakh | Последние дни Арцаха | Արցախի վերջին օրերը"

Short Civilnet video documenting the final days of the Artsakh republic.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxJ2ISb9_rU

I suggest turning the sound off to avoid the dismal musical soundtrack.

Note, a post (by another person) containing a link to this video had to be deleted from r/Armenia until the video title was censored of its Russian words. I will not on principle censor or alter the works of others, including their choice of titles.

Status of properties and nationality, and asylum feasibility

I wonder the status of Artsakhsis properties and the feasibility of obtaining Azeri citizenship for the purpose of asylum in western countries. Azerbaijan does not allow foreigners to own land and also bans dual citizenship, yet it says that citizens of Artsakh will be able to return. However, Most Artsakhsis have Armenian and other citizenships. It is legally impossible for non Azeris to own land so to keep Azerbaijani controlled property they must renounce all their citizenships and becoming Azeri unless Azerbaijan rolls out dual citizenship, so I wonder how Azerbaijan will be able to justify owning that territory when they say it is for Karabakhis yet 90%+ have moved away. Also it is so messed up, but If Artsakhsis decide to become Armenian citizens I fear they are likely ineligible for asylum in other countries since they aren’t persecuted in Armenia, and also automatically lose their Artsakh properties too, yet if they obtain Azeri citizenship they can apply for asylum in France, Germany, USA etc as state persecuted people and possibly keep their land to sell or use as a vacation home/rental. The Artsakh people deserve a good standard of living, especially since Muslim and Turkish migrants are flooding Europe and get entitled to a quality of life Armenia can’t compare to. Is it worth becoming an Azeri citizen to obtain asylum or should Artsakhsis be content in Armenia despite all of its problems right now?

This Spring my team & I produced a video doc on the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh to give the people a voice - turns out Western Media didn't want it. Can anyone help us share these stories?
