RULES
1. No Personal Chart Questions This place isn't for personal chart readings, but feel free to ask about transits, aspects, and other natal chart qualities as long as you come up with your own interpretation first. Let's keep personal stuff and chart posting out of here.
2. No General Horoscopes General horoscopes like "Full moon in Leo" can be found all over the internet and in other astrology subs, so let's leave those out of here.
3. No Basic Questions Astrology beginners are very much welcome here, but let's please avoid basic questions like "What's a square?" or "What does Mars represent?" Check out r/beginnerastrology or r/astrology for answers to these types of questions.
4. No Low Effort Questions Questions that show you haven't put in the effort to research on your own aren't the best fit for this community. Examples include "What does the Sun in the 3rd house in Libra represent?" and "If my partner's Sun is in Gemini and my Moon is Conjunct it, will we get married?"
5. No Low Effort Posts Posts that don't add much to the discussion, like "Is everyone ready for Libra season?" or "Why does Saturn hurt so much?" or "Check out my book on the full moon!" aren't really what we're looking for here.
6. No Self-Promotion / Spam Let's avoid links to articles or videos that don't spark discussion or promote your own stuff in a pushy way. And no spam, please.
7. No Memes / Low-Effort Pictures Context is key! No pretty pictures or diagrams without context, and no memes. Check out r/astrologymemes for your meme fix.

As per what I know, Capricorns tend to be extremely pragmatic and saturnine, while Uranus and Neptune are full of illusions and very dreamy.
I am not sure how to resolve this paradox. Pluto in the 10th house is also rathe confusing.
Hi everyone,
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the influence of Pluto entering Aquarius and how it reflects the embodiment of Aquarian energy or what some might call the Age of Aquarius. It feels like we’re experiencing a dismantling of certain aspects of the ego, particularly the illusion of materialism that’s often associated with Capricorn energy. Capricorn, with its focus on work, status, and structure, isn’t inherently negative, but we can see how this energy has shaped systems like capitalism and business, as well as the broader framework of our government.
Aquarius, by contrast, brings themes of rebellion, unorthodox thinking, and collective shifts in perspective. Do you think the ongoing Diddy trial might serve as a catalyst for exposing truths that could inspire humanity to challenge and move away from the elitist mindset cultivated under Capricorn’s influence?
Additionally, considering Capricorn is ruled by Saturn a planet symbolizing structure and authority do you think this transition into Aquarius signals a shift toward a more humanitarian and egalitarian approach? Could we be witnessing the transformation of Saturn’s “father figure” energy into something that better serves the collective good?
On a related note, how do you see Hollywood evolving in this context? With the rise of AI technology and a growing awareness of the darker aspects of celebrity culture such as its connections to pedophilia, sex trafficking, and other horrific abuses do you think we’re moving toward a cultural shift that deconstructs the glorification of celebrities, films, and Hollywood as a whole?
I’d love to hear your astrological perspectives on these themes. Let me know what you think
I'm listening to the Astrology Podcast's 4th House video and Nick mentioned people with Mars in the 4th house will have a 4th house profection year at 15, and a Mars return, usually resulting in a Mars-like event (I'm paraphrasing). I checked my database, and have 1 chart with this placement. I asked about injuries at 15, and there was a broken leg that needed multiple doctor appointments to "tap" the bone back into place, so that definitely felt Mars-like. But here's a fun kicker. Mars is in Aries in the 4th. I looked at the 22nd profection year which is Scorpio/11th and Transiting Mars was opposite Natal Mars. He was in a major car accident that put him on life support that year. It's these types of tidbits that really interest me. Is there a resource that teaches these things, or do I have to just keep listening to people who have studied for years multiple charts?
Hi! Not sure if anyone else is following the bird flu development, but it’s getting a lot of attention recently. Based on the upcoming astrological transits, do you think we could have another global pandemic in 2025-2026?
I hope it’s not controversial to say, but I don’t believe the covid pandemic ever ended, I think we’re still in it. I’ve searched all through this sub and I know it has been discussed thoroughly in the past, but most posts are from 1-2 years ago and some people believed covid would “end” in 2023 or 2024. However, we haven’t had any new recent medical developments in regards to covid treatment/prevention. According to statistics, public health has been going downhill for a few years now. Health predictions is a tricky and sensitive topic on personal level, but I am wondering whether the upcoming transits can tell us anything about the state of public health? What do you think? Can we expect to get any breakthroughs soon?
I apologise if these questions are somehow inappropriate for the sub.
Is there a more accurate house system for those with anaretic ascendants? I need to know because my chart is drastically different when I use Placidus instead of Whole Signs.
I have 29° Capricorn Rising, btw.
Hello. I am having a hard time feeling this aspect out and deciphering it, or translating it to action. I have Saturn retrograde at 2⁰, conjunct South node at 7⁰, in Aries, my 9th house. (This opposes a NN mercury conjunction in Libra 3H, but I'm really interested in the Aries placements.) Thanks for any insight!
I’m sure we’ve all seen the people telling everyone to buy essentials now because of tariffs and inflation, and I know there’s a lot happening with the planets right now as well as astrological events (mercury rx, mars rx, pisces virgo nodes, lunar eclipses, etc.) What does the astrology forecast predict for all of this? I’ve seen some people say Neptune and Uranus can cause disillusionment and panic-buying despite nothing really changing that drastically, while others are saying it’s going to be worse than we think. I’m just curious to see what people well versed in astrology think, as I’m not quite at that level yet :)
My ex was disabled long before I met him. Another horribly disfigured after we split. My current husband is a year out from a terrible accident. Where can I see this in my chart?
Do any of you track ZR outside of the 3 main lots? If so, what have your experiences been with L2/L3 loosing of the bonds periods? I'm trying to gain a better understanding of lots of necessity, nemesis, victory & courage.
I have noticed A LOT of news, especially locally but seems like a global phenomena, about issues with food manufacturing, such as contaminants and dangerous items in food packaging and so on.
Anything that has been discussed here, anyone has any ideas?
I’ve heard a Leo moon could indicate strong intuition, or Pisces placements are
Hi! I’m looking to study astrology (and its history) more seriously. I’d say I have an intermediate understanding of modern astrology, including house placements, signs, and related concepts.
My main concern with modern astrology is that it’s often treated as a personality tool—similar to systems like MBTI or the Enneagram—focusing on personality archetypes rather than its original use as a method for predicting external events. Much of the content I come across on social media feels like recycled or memorized information, rather than grounded in a foundational understanding.
I want to learn how to interpret celestial patterns in a way that can provide insight into events and cycles, rather than just analyzing personality traits.
Does anyone have recommendations for resources to help with this? I’m looking for documentaries, books, podcasts, courses, or individuals who emphasize astrology’s predictive aspects and historical, scientific roots.
**I’m specifically not interested in content that oversimplifies astrology, like telling what an 8th house stellium means, through repeated and watered down information. I want to build a solid foundation and learn to truly read the stars. Any suggestions?
Ye
It’s been a while since I’ve looked at the astrological weather for an election (sorry American friends, I know you’ve been busy), but I’m genuinely curious to see how tomorrow goes in the Irish general election and how the above is reflected in the below. The people are in bad shape and there’s a lot of tension, but will anything surprising happen when the moon is in fall and right at the end of its cycle…? Going by the polls, nothing will change…but if there’s one thing astrology is good for, it’s speculation about unexpected outcomes and obscure causes, and I’m going to be doing lots about both over the weekend 😑🤭
Evolution astrology establishes that astrology works by basing itself on reincarnation, as Steven Forrest writes.
But for those who don't believe in reincarnation, while many of the ways of interpreting a chart through an evolutionary lense is helpful, it's hard to adopt it in full.
Are there any other established theories for why astrology works? I'm asking about astrological frameworks in particular, but I'm open to a wider range of discussion as well.
Neptune in Libra (1943-1956): Relationships & love connections which eventually led to the baby boom. A need for peace and harmony.
Neptune in Scorpio (1956-1971): Cults, Manson Murders, Transformation in societal norms, Changing standards in music, clothing, sex & drugs. A need to revolutionize (Elvis Presley, Counterculture, Beatles, Hippies)
Neptune in Sagittarius (1971-1984): Cocaine, Disco, Crop tops, bell bottoms, MTV, Synth
Neptune in Capricorn (1984-1998): Yuppie, Wall Street Boom, Grunge, Heroin Chic, Hip-Hop, Alternative music, B&W screen usage, Adult Contemporary music, Idealization of authoritarian figures like Ronald Reagan, The Greed is Good mindset, The Whole Cynical Attitude of Gen X during the 90s when Neptune & Uranus were conjunct in Capricorn
Neptune in Aquarius (1998-2012): New technology, Autotune, Electronic music, Social Media, Cellphones, MySpace, Internet Forums, Boy Bands, Spice Girls, Teen-pop
(Fun Fact: When Neptune moved into Aquarius in 1998, Cher released ‘Believe’ which popularized the use of Autotune in music)
Neptune in Pisces (2012-2025): Nonstop Nostalgia remakes and reboots, Doomsday scenarios like the 2012 Mayan Calendar scare, Spirituality, Astrology, Therapy, Binge-watching, Low energy and not being active, Being more accepting and empathetic, Clubs dying
Neptune in Aries (2025-2039); I predict people wanting to be more energetic, people will want to wake up from the long Pisces snoozefest and want to take action. I do think clubs will be back under this timeframe and more people will start using drugs for a good time.
When Neptune was in Sagittarius, Cocaine was the most popular drug. When Neptune enters a fire sign, I think people will be in the mood to party again.
Think of the Roaring 1920s when Neptune was in Leo, that was the decade of Jazz Dance music and Flapper culture.
I’ve been reassessing my own chart, which I at least know I was either born at 4:03pm (what my mom says) or 4:03am (what my birth certificate says, and relatives think so too but no one remembers) which flips my MC/IC which have been accurate as far as transits to them only affect the MC (unclear which end) but at least I know thats correct.
So my questions are—
is there a house system best to work with?
does it make sense to go with the most obvious transit?
Like transit Saturn was conjunct my North Node when my grandma passed. In one chart most house systems its in the 8th. The other its the 2nd or 3rd depending on house system. So would it be 8th for death or possible 3rd for extended family?
If you had, for example, a major partnership day/milestone and nothing is happening with 7th, 5th or their rulers in either one, is it safe to assume the one that has at least a little bit is more accurate?
Is it better to prioritize transits, progressions, profections and zodiacal releasing over the chart itself? Is there one that is more dominant or clear?
How much does the actual placement matter than the transits/predictive techniques?
Like mine, I’m either a Capricorn rising/Scorpio moon or Leo rising/Libra moon. Is there a possibility I’m just the least Scorpio moon to have ever Scorpio moon-ed? The least chart ruler in the 12th to ever have existed? Or is it better to base it on actual personality?
There’s probably more questions than this, and would prefer answers to help everyone rather than my specific examples. Just wanted to say where my questions were coming from.
Kind of a hypothetical scenario, I’m curious what astrologers here would personally recommend.
The Nintendo Switch console will have its successor announced by March 31st of 2025, according to the company in a statement from a shareholder meeting from earlier this year.
I was considering how best to predict when major news about the Switch 2 would come out before then (preorder date, first trailer, etc.), and realized there were a number of options for which charts / methods to use. So I am curious what folks here would go for:
Background: Normally, for a newer company, I would look up when the company was founded and be able to find a press release with a decent correlation in birth time. However, Nintendo is an incredibly old company and didn’t even start off making video games, so a birth chart for the company may not be accurate for a few reasons.
My other ideas below for how to get around an inaccurate company birth time:
—-
Scenario 1: Use Nintendo’s stock IPO chart, as this news would impact the stock movement. Reading for financial astrology transits is obviously different than reading predictions based on a more standard birth chart, instead of one based on a stock IPO, but that’s not the difficult part for me here. My issue would be that Nintendo is traded in the Japanese stock market primarily, though a version of it is traded in the NYSE. So could you use either chart to predict movement? Would the Japanese one for sure be more accurate than the US one? Or would it be too unspecific either way, since the stock could be impacted by any news (and also the US stock market is not really tied to reality at this point)?
Scenario 2: Use the birth chart of the Nintendo Switch console, meaning the time/date when it was announced to the public. News about its successor, the Switch 2, might appear in transits to the original console’s birth, I would assume? But since it isn’t being retired as a console (will still be sold), what house do you think a transit about its successor would fall in? Or which planets would you look at, even? If it was major news about the Switch 1 itself, 10th House would be a no brainer, but it’s not quite that, as it’s news about something new beyond it.
Scenario 2.5: Similar to above, but instead of the console announcement time for birth chart, it would be the time/date that you could first preorder the Switch. Or alternatively, the tme/day it was physically available for purchase / launched in stores.
—-
My Thoughts: I suspect that the “easiest” way to verify the best method here would be to compare Scenario 2 for the Wii with the time/date the Wii U was announced/launched, as well as the same for the Nintendo DS vs 3DS. (Alas I don’t have the time to dig for all those charts myself, being unsure of which times/dates would be best to pick in the first place.)
So if someone here wanted to do the above, I’d love to see your findings!
But also, if anyone thinks they have the right birth chart for the Switch itself, would love to see what times/dates you used, and see if you have any quick predictions about news re: the Switch 2 based off the Switch 1’s birth chart.
example: Venus in Capricorn, and Mars in Pisces
I'm not a professional astrologer so I don't know much about mundane chart, but it's just really baffling how ever since the pandemic people have been moving ever so slightly to a conservative mindset. Andrew Tate and sexism, homophobia and misogyny. Corporate greed. Before it's much more hidden but now it's more prominent than ever. Not just in america but around the globe. It seems to be a worldwide phenomenon. How would the current transits explain this?
Are there any particular placements, aspects or transits that could indicate difficulties with subordinates? I'm not entirely sure how this could manifest on a chart and was looking for guidance, if someone here is familiar with such issue. Another way of asking this question could be, what are indicators of success in jobs where you have subordinates/direct reports?
So right now, Jupiter is at 17° Gemini and Mercury is at 22° Sag and about to station retrograde. (Obviously has been separating, but later tonight it will be applying thru Mercury rx.)
With Jupiter in detriment in Gemini and Mercury in detriment in Sag, and they are obviously in opposition.
In the horary sub, someone made a post stating that they were in mutual detriment, but…is that not also mutual reception? Can you not have mutual reception in signs that are in opposition?
Because otherwise I don’t understand how it’s compounding the difficulty and further weakening the planet’s expression, rather than sharing the domicile? Or are they in mutual domicile but also mutual detriment?
I’m just not grasping how to determine planetary conditions in this scenario. I assumed they were remediated by aspect but someone just told me no, they’re compounding each other’s detriment.
Thank you in advance.
I'm really torn between Chris Brennan & Demetra George courses . I will likely take both eventually but which should I take first? I absolutely love them both, they have very different teaching styles and I appreciate both equally. I have a great base knowledge thus far but would like to learn how to put it all together to read charts more easily. Any input would be appreciated. For context I have read all Demetra george books and Chris brennan book and follow his podcasts closely. I'm a big reader so I have alot of knowledge but struggling to put it into an actual reading
3 years into Hellenistic Astrology & I’m not sure how far I can go with the use of Lots in a chart. There are other aspects to the chart that hint at massive secrets and having to tell lies or keep secrets by telling lies etc
I recently did the chart for my current partner’s daughter. I discovered something quite shocking. Her Lot Of Father is exactly conjunct Mars in domicile. Cazimi. Ruler of her LOFather is Mars.
They are both squared by Mercury (children) in the 8th (secrets). That Mercury is opposite Neptune. (Lies/deception)
This leads me to believe her father abused her in a way that she has to keep under wraps.
If I look to The Sun in 7th (father) itself in the chart it’s not receiving any aspects from malefics. Saturn (the Father) is in seventh and is also squaring Mercury.
To what extent can I be “imaginative” with Lots ?
I'm a few years into my studies and have generally used whole sign houses. I'm listening to and reading from someone who uses a different house system and uses a 5° rule where a planet 5° from the beginning of a house cusp is in the next house. Does that mean, for instance if a planet is a few degrees before the ASC or IC etc, it would be considered an angular planet? In the case I'm looking at, the planet is a few degrees before the IC. In whole sign, the planet and IC are in the 3rd house, so not an angular planet. But with this rule, it kind of changes things, lol. Or do you only get angularity if it's firmly in the house?
I often hear astrologers describe squares to the Nodes as a “skipped step”, without offering much further explanation. What would this mean, for example, if Saturn squared the nodes?
Or maybe rephrased: In which situation would you advice a client to quit a corporate job and instead start their own business?
What comes to my mind (I'm usually using vedic astrology) is e.g. malefics in h6 which may make a person not enjoy working together with colleagues. But beyond that? Perhaps house 10 in aries, i.e. a person who needs action and is quickly bored and thus prefers an enterpreneur's life?
