Happy Uranus Jupiter Conjunction! Where is this hitting for you?

Have you noticed anything shits in this area of your life yet? Or to the areas that are in aspect?

Me - Its happening in my 6th house opposing my mercury in Scorpio in the 12th. I have been super driven to stay active daily and work out my body. And I have been going extremely deep internally like i have no choice but to connect to my inner/higher Self or things immediately go bad. Like, I have to listen to my inner knowing.

This is not a post to ASK about your chart.*

I started believing in Mercury retrograde

I was sceptical about it but THIS retrograde made me believe. When retrograde started I was in worse condition in general, had a lot of problems with timekeeping, was late for bus many times, I lost time perception etc. After few days everything became better but still not like was before.

It's probably affecting me more because Mercury retrograde is in aries and in my natal chart Mercury is also in aries. I even decided not to buy anything from internet and not to make important decisions until is over.

How retrogrades are affecting you? Anybody had experience like this?

Astroseek synastry question - how to analyze an aspect that also includes my placement?

First, sorry in advance for what might be confusing wording in the title, I didn't know how to say it succinctly!

I'm playing around with the astroseek synastry calculator for kicks, and in a synastry chart I pulled for my natal chart and a random person/date, astroseek generated a description of a moon square jupiter aspect (me with moon in leo and them with jupiter in scorpio). But, I also have jupiter in scorpio in my natal chart. I get that we have a square regardless, but would that impact the interpretation if I also have that same placement?

Big arguments with my partner always fall on the new moon

My partner and I have been together almost 4 years and have pretty solid communication, but every time we have a big argument it’s on a new moon or the night after. This has been the case for over 2 years, I’ve tracked many of them through journaling. It’s not every single new moon, but when I try to be conscious of the moon phase it still happens. I’m curious if anyone knows why this might be or if it has anything to do with our charts, am trying to learn more so I can overcome this. Thanks for the help and curiosity!

When does Mercury Retrograde start?

When looking up actual physical apparent retrograde motion, there's a little period where the planet slows down entirely, stops and then starts backtracking. Then eventually it slows down again, stops and resumes direct motion. I assume the same happens in star charts, since the movement of the planet is based on apparent motion from a geocentric point of view...

  • Do we start counting it as Retrograde when the planet is officially going back across the sky, or do we count when it slows down?
  • If not, are there any effects when the planet begins to slow down or isn't moving as much before it starts to reverse?

Does anybody else like their sun sign more than there other big two (moon and rising)?

I have a sun in Libra, a moon in Aquarius, and a rising in Sagittarius. I only have one another libra placement which is in mercury. But I liked my sun sign way more than my other sign. I kinda wish I had more libra in my chart honestly but I accept myself as I am. Just curious if there is an explanation behind this. By liking the sign more I mean like liking the way the sign is embodied, the way the sign is presented, and the way it shows up in the world basically whether that be through personality or appearance.

New Moon

There’s a new Moon on April 8th in the 19th degree of Aries and here’s how you set up your chart to interpret it. First, look at the sign and degree the luminaries are in. Again that’s 19th degree Aries for this alignment. Now, look at this point in your natal chart and see what house it’s in. The Sun and Moon are the triggers activating the natal chart. The house they’re in will show the area of life you’re trying to inwardly connect with. The conjunction of the Sun and Moon represents your emotions trying to integrate with your spirit. I compare it to the low tide on the beach shores. During this phase all the critters crawl under the rocks and into their shells for various reasons. Some will dry out in the Sun. Others are evading predators trying to eat them. Whatever the reason, they all scatter somewhere safe and get ready for the next incoming tide. If you follow your personal cycle you’ll eventually discover how you generally feel during this time. After you’ve analyzed house placement, move on to the planets. Planets involved with trines and sextiles usually indicate an easier flow of energy. All the other aspects will show either difficult or confusing times. Remember, not every new Moon is going to bring an epic event. It could simply mean you spill your coffee and get over it easier than usual. Planets that have significant afflictions are the ones you need to be wary of. When they get activated you’ll discover this is when the more imposing incidents occur. Next, look how closely the alignment is related to your ascendant. This shows how easily the energies of the Sun and Moon will flow through you. Very similar to having a good internet connection. When you find yourself lagging a little behind and experience frustrating glitches, there’s probably a reason why.

Any Capricorn Risings Agree with this?

Does anyone find it funny that Olivia Rodrigo (A Capricorn Rising) wrote the song the ballad of a homeschooled girl? As a Capricorn Rising, I relate to this song so much. I feel it in my bones. The uncomfortableness of being in my own body, the awkwardness I feel in social situations. Feeling like an outsider everywhere you go. Wanting to run away in social situations (especially in groups) because you feel perceived and sometimes don't feel comfortable in new situations. I'm better when it comes to one-on-one interactions. It's an experience I have felt my entire life. I will say as I get older, it gets a little better, but MAN! Just wanted to share :) Do any other capricorn risings experience this?

Here are the lyrics for reference:

[Verse 1]
Cat got my tongue
And I don't think I get along with anyone
Blood runnin' cold
I'm on the outside of the greatest inside joke
And I hate all my clothes
Feels like my skin doesn't fit right over my bones
So I guess I should go
The party's done, and I'm no fun, I know, I know
I know, I know
[Chorus]
I broke a glass, I tripped and fell
I told secrets I shouldn't tell
I stumbled over all my words
I made it weird, I made it worse
Each time I step outside, it's social suicide
It's social suicide, wanna curl up and die
It's social suicide
[Post-Chorus]
Ah, ah, ah
[Verse 2]
I laughed at the wrong time, sat with the wrong guy (Uh-huh)
Sеarchin' "how to start a conversation?" on a website (How to flirt?)
I talkеd to this hot guy, swore I was his type
Guess that he was makin' out with boys, like, the whole night (Oh)
Everythin' I do is tragic (Oh)
Every guy I like is gay (Oh)
The morning after I panic (Oh)
Oh, God, what did I say? (Oh, oh, oh)

Natal placements dont make women intimidating and to men

If you're a woman and have heard that you come off as intimidating to guys, know that it's not about your natal chart. Or astrology. That whole "intimidating" thing isn't written in the stars—it's about society's rules and how some people are raised to see things. Thinking that your zodiac sign or placement makes you too much for some to handle is ignorant (chill, thats not the same as stupid). That's not how it works. It's really about the outdated expectations and hang-ups whoever is telling you that is bringing to the table, not anything in your chart.

Astrology has all energies: assertive fire, emo water, mental air, and practical “doing” earth. These energies don't give af about your gender—they're part of every HUMAN, mixed in unique ways that have nothing to do with your body's biology.

Being true to yourself, showing the world who you really are, that's on you and the environments that you were raised in and are in currently, not just astrology. Astrology lets you know what tools you have, your traits and tendencies, but it's not handing out personality traits based on whether you're a man or a woman. Stop dragging astrology into places its not meant to be. Thats how it continues to get laughed at and banned when it could be a useful tool. Learn what astrology really is.

I know nothing about astrology and was wondering what these symbols in someone's bio meant.

So someone's profile has their age followed immediately by ♏︎ ♍︎ ♐︎

I can look up the specific symbols and see that those are the symbols for Scorpio Virgo and Sagittarius, but I don't really get what it means beyond that? I assume the first symbol being just means the person themselves is a scorpion, born sometime late October to late November, but I don't really get what it means to say "Scorpio, Virgo Sagittarius" like that.

Have you ever noticed if you're more energetic or creative at night, and do you know your Moon sign or where Neptune is in your chart?

I'm curious because I've read that certain astrological placements, like having the Moon or Neptune in prominent positions, or being a Pisces, Scorpio, or Cancer, can make someone more inclined to be a night owl. Plus, knowing your Rising Sign could add another layer to this. It's fascinating how these elements might influence our natural rhythms. What's your take on this, based on your own sign and chart?

What questions do you have about Vedic astrology or astrology in General?

I really love talking about astrology and want to share everything that I’ve learned because it is stimulating and allows me to think more deeply about it.

I originally started with Western Tropical around 5 years ago but now primarily use Vedic. While I can answer general questions about Western as a whole, I tend to default to the Vedic significations so I’ve stopped using certain things like the outer planets and astroids. That said, I’ve noticed a lot of the meanings overlap and get covered regardless, so I’ll try to fit my response in the context of how you ask it. The two systems are thought out a bit differently. Vedic is more spiritual and less psychological overall, I would say. They have similar origins regardless though.

Since apparently this was too “beginner” for r/advancedastrology

Kala Purusha and the Signs

The concept of Kala Purusha, or the “Cosmic Man”, is a fundamental principle in Vedic astrology, representing a sophisticated philosophical construct that links the cosmos to individual human experiences. Kala means time, representing the endless, cyclical flow of cosmic rhythms, while Purusha represents the spirit or the essential self. When taken together, Kala Purusha symbolizes the eternal dance between the temporal unfolding of the universe and the timeless essence of the self. It is the fundamental creative force from which the genesis of the universe itself sprang. This perpetual principle is unidirectional; its energy ceaselessly flows outward and does not retract. It is omnipresent across the entirety of creation, influencing every level of existence at all times. This encompassing force integrates all dichotomies—pleasure and pain, beginnings and endings, allure and aversion, etc.— encompassing the full spectrum of emotions, sensations, and thoughts. These elements are intrinsic to Kala Purusha, which remains transcendent and impervious to the cyclical reverberations of the cosmos it underlies. Kala Purusha is always a positive influence, as it is the personification of eternal time which causes the universe to revolve around itself.

This concept posits that the macrocosm is mirrored in the microcosm, with the universal life force manifesting through all aspects of creation, both tangible and intangible. All astrological predictions, in fact, are derived from the relationship existing between Kala Purusha and the individual human being whose future is under consideration by an astrologer’s ability to draw upon this cosmic interconnectedness. Kala Purusha symbolizes the extension of the human entity across all psychic and temporal dimensions, embodying a universal consciousness that transforms potentiality into object, manifested reality. Kala Purusha is an all-pervading universality, a stream of oniscient consciousness ever engaged in externalizing itself. The representation of Kala Purusha transcends anthropomorphic imagery, as it must stand as a metaphor for the boundless spirit that resonates with the rhythmic pulse of the universe in its entirety. This representation is not merely a symbol but a functional paradigm that influences various astrological and existential dimensions, from the mundane flow of time to the progress of individual destinies.

Kala Purusha is apparent in everyday phenomena, as is evident in political astrology and in the expression of human feelings and emotions, efforts and disappointments, sickness and health which combine to make up the subject matter of natal astrology. The vibration of this universal principle, the breathing of Kala Purusha, can be felt in the rise and fall of human civilizations, the changes in the earth's vast continents, the birth and death of the universe. In practical terms, the Kala Purusha concept is employed in astrology to provide insights into individual life paths, health, and spiritual development. By aligning astrology with the human form, astrologers can interpret the influences on different aspects of human life, offering a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s strengths, challenges, and potentials.

In astrological terms, the Rashis (zodiac signs) symbolize the inner vibrations of the Cosmic Man, functioning at a cosmic scale to manifest diverse phases of existence. Here are the different examples of what the Rashis represent:

(Quick disclaimer: This is not the same as each sign’s essential meaning, which are defined by elements, modalities, genders, Gunas, species/feet, body, planetary rulerships, etc. While these sign-specific attributes provide insights into astrological influences and personal characteristics, the concept of Kala Purusha represents an overarching, unifying framework that connects the entire cosmos with the human experience, transcending the particularities of the individual signs.)

Mesha (Aries) is a fusion of the internal essence and external reality, representing a phase where the seeds of new beginnings are ready to sprout but have not quite begun doing so. This is the birthplace of potential, where the energy for new ventures and the courage to embark on uncharted paths accumulates, yet the manifestation of these initiatives is still in the realm of the possible, awaiting the right moment to be moved into action. It is a state where the impetus for creative engagement has emerged standing as a symbol of untapped possibilities, where the drive for creation vibrates intensely, ready to transition from the abstract to the concrete.

Vrishabha (Taurus) signifies the shift between the inner and the outer realms, marking a period where the nascent ideas and energies begin to take shape in the physical world. It is the process of grounding the creative spark into form, where the abstract concepts of identity, value, and intention start to manifest as tangible expressions and realities. This shows the stabilizing of energies, the cultivation of resources, and the appreciation of the sensory world, serving as the foundation upon which the inherent contrasts of existence—such as the subjective versus the objective, the spiritual versus the material, the self and other, inner impulse and outward expression, as well as spirituality and materiality— begin to find distinct expression in the world.

Mithuna (Gemini) represents the exchange between the subjective and the objective, illustrating the melding of dualistic principles often depicted as the maternal and paternal, the copulation of opposites, or the legendary traverses between the divine and mortal realms. This Rashi captures the essence of agility of thought and the versatility of perception, facilitating communication and play through the mode of experiencing something that is not the same as your essential self. It allows you to learning and exchange, reverberating with human limitation and the capacity for adaptability where the dual, oppositional nature of the world is fully realized and reinforced.

Karka (Cancer) signifies the anima mundi or liranyagarbha—the store-house of human potential. It is the essence of the primordial cosmic womb, representing the fertile ground from which all potential comes. It symbolizes a phase in the cycle where what was once ethereal begins to materialize, typifying the nurturing aspect of the cosmos that allows for the actualization of inherent potentialities. This Rashi’s influence is likened to the vital flow of life's essence— the nurturing and sustaining qualities that foster growth and development, much like the nourishing blood that circulates through the body.

Simha (Leo) is the stage of radiant actualization and expressive power, where the latent creative energies are brought into manifest existence. This is where the integration of the individual's essence with the cosmic forces takes place, symbolized through the allegory of the paternal force merging with the universal creatrix of the Hiranyagarbha, or womb of the Mother. This is a period of self-expression, courage, and the unfolding of the individual's karmic path, igniting the internal spark that propels one towards fulfilling their unique destiny. It is the zest of life, encouraging the individual to shine forth their inner light and to set forth on a journey of self-discovery, personal authenticity, and the demonstration of one's innate potential.

Kanya (Virgo) is the where initial surge of creativity transitions into a phase where self-sustained productive efforts are refined and tested. This stage is characterized by the practical application of newfound capabilities, where the inherent potential is meticulously honed and expressed amidst the challenges imposed by natural laws. Here, a series of obstacles and trials to access the essential process of growth through the examination of one’s inner strength and the externalization of one's creative spirit must be confronted. The dichotomies of action-reaction, effort-struggle, difficulties and trials, all with a view to obtaining something from within one's own self fall here.

Tula (Libra) signifies a juncture where the infusion of creative spiritual essence with the matter reaches its lowest point, calling for a reassessment of the interaction between the tangible and the intangible aspects of existence. The downward impulse results in frustration as the primeval spark continues to long for expansion. This symbolizes a harmonious equalization, where the pursuits of worldly experiences and desires are balanced with the evolving quest for spiritual identity and introspective self-realization— where the soul seeks to find peace in the midst of life’s inherent polarities, striving to harmonize the desire for material satisfaction with the yearning for spiritual fulfillment. It is reflective of the human endeavor to align internal values with external realities.

Vruschika (Scorpio) marks the phase of crisis and metamorphosis, where the soul encounters the depths of its own existence, triggering a transformative dissolution similar to that of a metaphysical rebirth. This intense period is characterized by the surfacing of latent inner conflicts, transformative crises, and the purging of obsolete elements, thereby facilitating an inner alchemy that lays the groundwork for a renewed existential potential and the emergence of a heightened spiritual consciousness. What was hidden is exposed, purged in order to pave the way for the awakening of the Buddhic consciousness.

Dhanu (Sagittarius) represents the dynamic essence of transformation, where the metaphorical fire incinerates the vestiges of the past, purifying the core essence of being. This symbolizes the archetypal journey of the philosopher and seeker, where the impurities of consciousness are burned away, unveiling the underlying truth of nature. The smoke and dirt are cleansed away from emotions and goals so that "the image slumbering in the stone," as Nietzsche would have said it, can come to the surface. It’s a time of liberation from the old constraints, igniting the flame of wisdom and the pursuit of higher knowledge, leading to the revelation of the inherent divine spark within.

Makara (Capricorn) represents the zenith of the cosmic journey, where individual awareness harmonizes with the universal consciousness. This is indicative of the maturation process, where the accumulated wisdom and experiences are synthesized, leading to a state of heightened awareness and realization. It symbolizes the moment of integration, where personal achievements and insights are aligned with the collective wisdom, embodying the culmination of trials, lessons, and the steadfast pursuit of one’s goals. This is associated with the metaphorical activation of the higher mind, akin to the awakening of the pituitary gland, signifying a fully realized state of consciousness where the individual's aspirations and the cosmic will converge, manifesting a reality that is the fruit of both personal endeavor and universal alignment.

Kumbaya (Aquarius) shift towards a visionary and altruistic perspective, where the individual is inspired by higher, divine forces and becomes an agent of progressive change and innovation; heaven descends to earth, and there is social transformation. This is characterized by a transcendental connection to the collective, ushering in a period of societal transformation and the emergence of new paradigms in human relationships and social structures. This is where the old order ends and a new beginning takes place. With this drastic change in direction of flow, there will be revolutionary ideas, symbolizing the infusion of spiritual values into the fabric of everyday life, bringing to life the advent of a renewed and enlightened societal order.

Finally, Meena (Pisces) represents the culmination and end of the spiritual journey, where the finite merges with the infinite. This is the completion of a spiritual and existential cycle, where the individual transcends the physical plane to embrace a state of oneness with the cosmos. This is where the transcendence over the mundane takes place, precipitating a phase of spiritual completion and cosmic unity. Meena acts as a testament to the soul's journey through the experiences of existence, gathering in a state of spiritual enlightenment and the relinquishment of individual ego. It symbolizes a period of surrender, release, and wisdom, where the boundaries of personal identity dissolve, and the soul prepares to embark on a new evolutionary cycle or to attain Moksha.

New learner here! with basic knowledge,

So, I know we have 12 houses which tell us different parts of our life, for example -

1st house= house of self, our identity, our personality

2nd house=house of assets and our values etc.

Now, I couldn't comprehend the meaning of the signs and planets in the house, How does basically having the first house in taurus should be interpreted and what role does planet play in the said house. What does the sign and planet in said house represent?

I have good feelings about this year if I listen to my heart and gut. But my solar return is coming up and on the day of my birthday is a New Moon that apparently is also a Super Moon. Basically it’s closer to earth than normal. What do you guys think this could signify?

Gardening to the Moon

Gardening to the Moon cycle is one of the most enjoyable things I do with my astrological knowledge. I’ve definitely noticed distinct growth patterns and my mother’s pear tree has done especially well. Pick up a copy of the Old Time Farmer’s Almanac and you’ll discover aside from the ads and articles there’s nothing but astronomical alignments with the phases of the Sun and Moon. After a few seasons of growing pumpkins, cucumbers, nasturtiums, roses, dahlias, and tomatoes I’m 100% sold on gardening to the Moon. Jalapenos, bell peppers, and onions may have failed miserably, but you’re not going to win every battle man. I also say the best philosophy is to stick with what you do best. If you screw something up monumentally don’t waste your resources trying to get it right. Go focus your money and efforts into more lucrative projects. Now here are some philosophies I’ve learned through my years in the FFA as well as first hand experience.

In order to do anything to the Moon cycle you’ll need to understand the four major phases. The full and new Moon are more commonly known but the quarter phases are just as important. If you’re astute to celestial happenings you can tell the Moon phase by simply looking at it. When Luna is half dark half light that’s the indication of one of the quarter phases. The Full Moon stands bright at night but the new Moon can’t be seen at all. Once you’ve got the four phases down, here’s the method behind the madness. From the new Moon to Full the flowers, buds, and fruits are developing as the increasing Moon size influences the amount of water being drawn from the ground. Just like the ocean tides are higher during this phase so is the amount of subsurface H2O. Then from the full Moon to full plants are establishing the underground roots as well as the stems or branches of the plant. I believe the three days after the full or new Moon is when you’ll see the most change in the plant's expansion. When it comes to harvesting the same philosophy applies. Pick above ground fruits and veggies under the full phase and underground produce during the new.
