Hi! I’m a beginner to want to learn astrology; however I want to study modern astrology? What are some good resources/books that goes in depth detail about modern astrology? I already came across resources that are for traditional but not modern?
Thank you 🩷
Does the dotted line count towards a kite aspect? Why/why not? Thanks!
I’ve been casually learning about astrology for a couple of years now and this has been the hardest thing for me to grasp. I’ve always given up when it comes to these aspects, they just look and sound so confusing to me.
I feel like it would help tremendously if I knew how the placements of the planets affect each other and I would love to learn more about my own birth chart. I think the fact that English isn’t my first language is making it kind of frustrating too since I’ve never heard of some of these words before astrology lol.
Where the hell do I start? It just seems like there is so much to learn and I have no idea what is the best way to approach this 😭
Due to the lack of information online, I came under the assumption each part represents a specific aspect of your personality.
EG Part of Marriage represents how you view marriage, Part of Art represents your tastes in art, Part of Worldliness how you view the world and cultures,etc...
Basically I assumed to interpret a part, you basically think of how a sign would react to that specific topic. I have for example Part of Marriage in Capricorn. Even though I am as dreamy when it comes to love as Venus Pisces are, my idea of a husband is one who is very Capricornish; works hard to increase wealth and status of the family, very responsible, and very practical (would divorce if the family would suffer as a result of marriage. I always wondered why my idea of a husband was not Pisces at all even though I once thought the romance in a very Piscean manner. I was not surprised my Part of Marriage is in Capricorn. If I ever were to marry (highly unlike) even though I would be romantic as a lover/boyfriend, I would suddenly transition to being a Capricorn when it comes to my girlfriend after I marry her and we become husband and wife. I already knew before I got into astrology I would become a realist and not a dreamer romantic if I ever marry as far as handling as the MAN of the relationship.
Another example is that my Part of Sports is in Scorpio. When Iw as young I generally hated sports but combat sports were the exception-in fact whatever interest I had in sports were often fighting ones like wrestling and MMA and those related to training for war like running and timed obstacle course challenges. I read in several astrology books fighting sports is something Scorpios are big into as well as things military so I was not surprised my Part of Sports is in Scorpio (though now it probably transitioned to Aries).
Another example I noticed people who I calculated charts for who are not enthusiastic about military (and even find the topic boring or too horrifying/scary to talk about) tend to have their Parts of Armies in Pisces, Aquarius, or Libra;signs not known to be militaristic and actually would be anti-war. I myself am an example. My Part of Armies is in Scorpio conjunct its ruling planet in modern astrology Pluto, and I won't deny I was a DIEHARD MILITARIST when I was younger. To the point I admit looking back in hindsight my beliefs on militarism resembled that of the Nazis.
My father also has his Part of Armies in Scorpio and while he was nowhere close to a militarist I was, he's actually in the army and he EXCELS as a soldier. When he was young he initially wanted to be a soldier as his primary career choice before switching to accounting. He surprised everyone with his performance when he went to basic training years later. He's anything but Scorpio outside of the military save for paranoia (mostly as a result of life experiences) and is more of a hybrid of Leo and Virgo. But once he's in the barracks he's as much as a Scorpionic personality as a Scorpio can be. Especially in the field where he's so self-restrained and serious you'd think he's a completely different person.
My brother has his Part of Armies in Cancer and ohhhh he's INCREDIBLY PATRIOTIC and believes the military represents the best of the American spirit and the best most patriotic men of American society. Typically Cancerian personality in his approach to the military.
Am I correct in how to interpret Arabic Parts?Just think how a sign would approach that topic such as if you have Part of Rulers in Capricorn, you interpret how Capricorn would be like as a ruler based on Capricorn's nature? Or Part of Art in Libra in which you'd assume the person's taste in Art would be very Libran?
Anyone have an alternative?
They just started charging $7 to use the app and deleted all my charts. Nope!
Sorry, new here. What constitutes an "evolved" person? Let's say I'm a sun in Scorpio, what is an evolved Scorpio, and how does that differ from a normal (?) or unevolved Scorpio?
HI, fairly new to navigating my birth chart. I have a question in regards to what to look for in my chart that would correlate with an addictive personality. Any specific houses and placements that stand out more than others?
I'm building my astrology library and looking for a good book to learn and use as a reference to read solar return charts. I have a few on my wishlist, but hoping someone has a recommendation.
I'm a little bit more than beginner, but less than advanced lol

I am currently in a a Greek and Roman Mythology class at Arizona State University and i have been wanting to continue to grow my knowledge on Astrology.
I was snooping around on Astrosofa.com because i was wanting to learn more about my rising sign, and i was reading on how Leah Goldberg posted an article titled "Virgo Sun Aquarius Rising" and she was discussing how the god Hermes represents Virgo (and Gemini) but the goddess of agriculture, Demeter, also represents Virgo.
Does anyone know how Greek Mythology has to do with Astrology? How much do these two topics have in common?
let me know what y'all think!
As i have been learning about my chart and how to read it, i came across the Astroclick portrait and i noticed that their are 5 planets in Virgo.
these being Sun in Virgo, Moon in Virgo, Mercury in Virgo, Mars in Virgo and Jupiter in Virgo.
i have been trying to also figure out what it means if i am a Virgo, and if i have both my Sun and Moon in Virgo.
let me know if y'all have any advice on how to learn about the different planets easier, and also what it means to have both Sun and Moon in Virgo!
I wonder if the full moon gives us Big Full Moon Energy™. Or the energy phenomenon could correlate with one's star sign, like maybe it could affect one differently different if they are an Asparagus or a CapriSun, for example. Another reason could be the fact that Mercury is in Gatorade. Just some thoughts!
Someone recommended to use whole sign and I found it much more chaotic so my adhd brain was into the calm order of it. But I don’t know how each one changes your chart. Are your placements the same in both?
Thanks 😊 I dunno if this is allowable. I understand if not. I have questions galore, I’ll just ask another lol
I know this is probably googleable but I find in these subs I get more clarification💜💕

Greetings all,
I've been reading Lilly's 1647 text. I noticed that his zodiac/house/planet are different from other seemingly "traditional astrology" charts. Can anyone tell me why his is different?
Thanks
TLDR: what books would you suggest for someone interested in developing a strong astrological foundation after reading Steven Forrest's Inner Sky?
I'm just wrapping up Steven Forrest's The Inner Sky and am looking for what book or resources to dive into next.
I'm currently working on memorizing the various methodologies for how to understand a natal chart, and would eventually like to work my way to being able to do electional and predictive astrology. I appreciated Forrest's take on the freedom of choice and his process for breaking down and analyzing a chart.
Additionally I am also working on creating flash cards to remember the most important themes of each planet, sign and house. I also found a reddit post that suggested the importance of looking at random charts of famous individuals and then figuring how their chart affected them.
hello everyone!
right now i have a transit moon in conjunct with my natal moon and also a conjunct with transit and natal mercury. Can I call it an activation?
When does activation happens?
I’m confused on how the just past lunar eclipse means endings and the upcoming solar eclipse means starts/beginnings? Some people talk about both in a negative way and that’s confusing.
The eclipse of September falls on my 7th house. The eclipse of 2 October seems to fall on my 8th house, the lunar eclipse of the 17th on my third house. I to be honest am too much of a beginner to know what and how these affect me. Only that I know the 7th house is my love life which isn’t that great at all …
I’m not sure how to link it all together
I am sure this has been asked before, but has anyone taken the Nightline First Year Course? If so, can you share your thoughts, reviews, pros, cons, tips? Is it worth the money? I am fairly new to studying astrology and really enjoy learning it. Thanks!
It’s cloudy where I am- I’m hoping to wake up early tomorrow and see the moon. I set out my jar of water regardless. Sending relaxing thoughts, prayers, and energy to you. I’m trying to keep my mind, body, and spirit calm and let things flow. #wereAllinthistogether ✨ A full moon is a time to reflect on how far we’ve come, appreciate what we have, and let go of what no longer serves us. This particular full moon is also a lunar eclipse, which makes it an even bigger moment for release. It’s a South Node eclipse, meaning we’re focusing on letting go of the past — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Right now, the Sun is in Virgo, and the Moon is in Pisces. Virgo represents our practical, physical side, while Pisces is all about our spiritual, emotional side. This full moon is encouraging us to let go of things we’ve been holding onto, even if we weren’t aware of it. It’s about deep release, so don’t be surprised if things from your past feel like they’re being “cleared out.”
There’s also something called an Earth Grand Trine happening, which basically helps us create changes — both slowly and quickly. By letting go of the old, we’re making space for new thoughts, ideas, and opportunities. Emotions may feel extra strong, and old wounds might come up, but that’s all part of the process. It’s a time to make choices about how to move forward, even if it feels challenging. Try not to overthink it — just relax and go with the flow.
This week is a powerful one, and it’s all about helping us understand the changes we’re going through.
Remember: things often need to end for new things to begin.
Also, if you’re into it, try putting out a jar of water to soak up the full moon’s energy, and make sure to hydrate and take care of both your spirit and body. More info about eclipse season will come soon, but for now, don’t worry — embrace the energy of the full moon!
hi guys, i'm looking for some astrology software for windows, can someone recomend me any?

This is for a school project.
As someone who's experienced in Western astrology, I've taken an interest in the Chinese system. But I'm not sure how to interpret the charts I seen s far such as fire elements, etc. So I'll start off by asking about the 4 pillars.
Are the 4 pillars basically Chinese astrology's counterparts tot he 4 most important placements of Western astrology, the Sun, Moon, Rising Sign (also known as Ascendant), and North Node in Western astrology? Short story short Sun Sign is the sign of each month, NMoon sign varies depending on the specific day, Rising sign is the zodiac sign of your hour of birth, and North Node gives an indication of your future based on what Zodiac sign it is in and what house and many more details.
As far as I know three of the Bazi pillars already each individually stand for a month, day, and hour animal zodiac and I'd assume the 4th pillar the year plays a similar role to the North Node.
Did I get that right? Or is s there far more differences than for an immediate one-on-one to warrant? If so what are the important details that are vastly different from the primary placements of Western astrology the Big 3s (Sun, Moon, Rising) and the North Node?
ive been interested in astrology for a really long time but only now am i really beginning to take it seriously, but where ive been getting stuck is when it comes to like, putting the peices together. Ive been learning all of the different meanings of the houses, signs etc. but i get stuck on adding it all together. like an example ive been working on reading is that: im jupiter virgo in 12th house and 12th house leo, and also jupiter natal retrograde. (forgive me i never know how to properly string it all together lol) so its one thing finding all the seperate meanings of each placement, jupiter virgo means this, leo in 12H means that. but then when you put all those seperate meanings together to interpret it all as one And then being able to actually relate it to current astrological events and making it 'fit in' with the rest of my chart. does anyone have any ideas on where i could start or resources on learning things like that?
The rising sign confuses me because I didn’t realize signs could rise…or move at all. Obviously I get that planets move through the Zodiac, but is the zodiac also moving? I am trying the zodiac, as if I were seeing it in the night sky. I’m not sure if I should be seeing a moving plane, through which planets move on their orbits, or a stationary plane.
