Looking for an app or site that shows natal charts with “animated” transits.

Not sure how to word this correctly - but I’m looking for an app or website where I can plug in my natal chart and see the transits, and specifically what I’m looking for is to be able to turn a dial that represents time passing and watch the transits progress through the chart.

The way I’m currently doing it is on Astro.com - but to see the transits for different dates I’m having to press the back button, enter the new date, press “show the chart” and repeat.

Are there any free ways to do what I’m describing?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pluto on Ascendant, Pluto conjunct Sun, and Scorpio Rising?

What are the different manifestations of these three placements? Or similar placements with other planets?

PLEASE NOTE: I'm asking about the specific differences in these three placements, referencing Pluto or any other planet.

Why do some people have late starts in life?

I know planets like Pluto and Saturn can really affect your life intensely but why is it that some people seem to get it very easy and some have to work extremely hard to even get moderate results?

Astrological similarities between now and 100 years ago?

I’ve read/seen videos several times over the past few years (since COVID really) indicating that the astrological transits and planetary alignments are very similar now as they were about 100 years ago, with the COVID period’s transits being similar to that of when the Spanish Flu spread. I’ve heard current alignments are similar to that of the Great Depression period/leading up to World War II.

Can you recommend reading materials or videos that explain this more in depth?

Some highly specific questions about degrees and planets

Hello - newbie here. I'm doing some historical research and would be grateful for some input in these questions as I don't have much of a clue about astrology.

  1. I want to find out when the 27th degree of Pisces in the year 692 AD would have been. Appreciate that's very specific. I don't quite understand degrees - do they land on the same date every year, or do they change?

  2. I believe that on the 27th degree of Pisces, Venus is at its exhalation. This question may make no sense, but when does Venus begin its passage towards that exaltation? Does it 'enter' Pisces at any point? Or does it begin its path to exaltation at the point when it is at its lowest? Or does it start its path to exaltation at the first degree of Pisces?

Thank you - appreciate these are both highly specific, potentially complex questions, and also probably very stupid sounding as I hardly know the first thing about astrology.

Outer planets mini grand trine: thoughts/predictions?

So, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto are making a mini grand trine from 2025-2028, with Neptune being the apex. I'm just curious if anyone has noticed this and has any thoughts about what the effects of this might be, whether in people's personal lives or on a broader scale?

Besides the Vanity Fair article, what were Michael Lutin’s other predictions?

I recently read Michael Lutin’s article from the January 2007 issue of Vanity Fair about Pluto in Capricorn and Aquarius, and was quite intrigued. I was wondering what he else he predicted? I am new to astrology, but it is my understanding he passed away this past November.

How ‘malleable’ are we in relation to our charts?

I am new to astrology and really feel that I believe in it. I was pretty shocked by the accuracy of Sun, Moon, and Rising signs, then when I learned about plants and houses that’s when I really started to believe how powerful this all is. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn more!

What I am wondering is, to what extent can things like personal growth, acquired knowledge, healing, habit forming, self regulation, extreme dedication, higher consciousness etc make an impact on what’s meant for us and who we are?

For example, if many signs point to someone being naturally irritable, if they become conscious of it and work hard to learn how to shift their reactions / emotions / attitude, can the irritability be kept at bay without causing the person to simultaneously feel that they are repressing a part of them? If yes, to what degree? If you are naturally resents routine and lack self discipline, is it truly sustainable for them thrive in situations requiring this or will they grow tired of masking? Can someone train themselves to use their perfectionism only for good?

Same question but also for outcomes. Can you engineer a new outcome for yourself or only try hard to minimize impact and prepare?

does anyone have any experience using this app? Is paying for a subscription worth it? Do you have any other astrology app recommendations? I've been trying to find simple ways to implement astrology in my daily life:)

Sorry for the beginner question...

I can't seem to come up with the right Google search to find out who first created the original 'written' Zodiac symbols. For example, with Sagittarius, not the archer/centaur but the arrow with the line through it symbol.

Feel stupid asking - but if you don't ask, then you'll never know.

THANKS for any help.

Friendly/Hostile Planets

So I’ve learned all of the essential dignities, but on Astro Seek, when you look at the chart that determines your dominant planets, there’s something that ranks how dignified/debilitated each planet’s placement is, and it includes “Hostile” and “Friendly” signs. I haven’t been able to find anything on what this means. Intuitively it sounds like a lesser version of exaltations and falls, but I haven’t been able to find anything on what signs are friendly and hostile to what planets.

That said, I do have some guesses. I would guess Sagittarius would be friendly to the Sun, since the Sun is already dignified in Leo and Aries. It’s also always seemed weird to me that Venus isn’t dignified in Cancer and that the Moon isn’t dignified in Pisces, so I would assume those are friendly signs to. Cancer being friendly to Venus would particularly make sense because it would mean Capricorn is hostile to Venus, and speaking as a Capricorn Venus, I feel that (unless these don’t work the same way as dignities with the opposite signs having the opposite relationships).

Can anyone shed any light on this? I’d love a list (I’m an earth Mercury so lists are my thing).

Transits and their effects

I'm a beginner when it comes to astrology and I've been hearing a lot about this year (2025) being crazy due to all of these different transits.

Where can I search what transits are happening this year and what their effects on me would be?

association between capricorn/saturn and old age

so, i'm aware that saturn represents discipline, as well as a father figure (as well as the fact its one of the farther planets from the sun), so i know where the association between the later stages of life and capricorn / saturn come from, but multiple times i've seen things like "if you have [these capricorn placements], the better years of your life will come when you're older" or similar things along those lines, and i was wondering how much of that is true.

i can't tell if this question is stupid or hard to understand because i do realize it's a huge generalization so i'm aware theres probably nuance to this claim, but could someone expand on the idea of capricorn/saturn and how it may dictate the later years of your life? or if it does at all? thank you :-)

Books for Ascendant/Rising Signs?

Are there any good books that focus specifically on Rising signs, their identity, and what their life experience might look like? Even a breakdown/interaction of typical houses associated with that Rising Sign? I understand that planets and placements would all vary wildly and that there isn’t a catch all.

I know that as you get more into Astrology, these things become more easier to understand. I am just looking more for a starting point, book recommendations, or even insightful input so that I can learn more about myself, others, and how to better embody or incorporate those things in life to align with it.

I always see these very deep, poetic, and intense videos or blogs about the Rising Signs and basic interactions with the other houses, and I’m always left wondering: “Where does this information come from?” Or “How did they learn this?” — They are usually very accurate too 🤣

What is the point of astrology?

I do not doubt that astrology is real, and I have seen that my birth chart was very accurate. But what is the purpose of someone taking the time to study astrology? How is it applied to a persons life and how does it benefit them?

Aspect/transit book recommendations

I'm looking for the most informative books i can find on aspects, if possible (probably isnt) every aspect for Natal chart.

Also an informative book on transit aspects would be much appreciated!

Also a book on major transits

By informative I'm looking for a brief description on when this placement conjuct/oppo/trine/squares etc another placement.

I've been looking to purchase one but I can't decide which, so hoping to thin it out.

Practising astrologers, do you ever make judgement calls about somebody’s character from their chart?

I’m just a self learner at the moment so this is more of an ethical astrology question to practising and more advanced astrologers - do you ever find yourself making judgement calls about somebody when you are doing a chart reading?

Basically, do you ever look at somebody’s chart and conclude whether or not this person is capable of more goodness or badness - if that makes sense. Just curious if that is something that naturally happens, or of astrologers are trained to deliberately not think about that kind of thing, even if it might be tempting. Thanks for sharing any experiences!

Has there ever been a time where each planet was in their home sign?

Including the outer planets in this. I’ve been researching all morning and am curious if there’s been a time where Pluto was in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces, Uranus in Aquarius, Saturn in Capricorn, Jupiter in Sagittarius, Mars in Aries, Venus in Libra, Mercury in Virgo and Sun in Leo. (i know Taurus/Gemini could be swapped in, but with the Sun in Leo, I don’t think it’s possible for Mercury to be stretched that far?)

I went back and tried to find sources to show the dates where Pluto was in Scorpio to compare, but only was able to reliably go back to 1800s. After that, the dates didn’t match up with the charts I pulled.

Just curious- would this even be possible? Is there anything stopping this from happening?

Transit Experts

I feel like I have a decent understanding of the houses; but now I'm curious about the geometry between planets and houses

The transits happening in real time and how it could effect us; politically; globally

Any sources or guides or trusted experts? Are there figures or bloggers or vloggers you trust to give accurate assessments of what's happening astrologically daily and charted over time?
