I am currently reading about rising signs and physical appearance. What causes the person to gain weight thru transits? I always think of Jupiter but idk about aspects. For example if Jupiter is squaring something it won't expand. Also if someone could post a name of a book about rising sign, appearences and aspects it would be great.
Hey, SN and NN are not very deeply discussed in modern astrology. And there are different subjective opinions there too - yes, go only towards your NN and forget SN! Or “no, you need them both”
I wanna know what traditional astrologers say about them and their interaction with other planets and their dispositors.
Also, would like to learn more about their returns and reversals in traditional school.
I’d really like to have a daily planner with references to the Moon phase and major current transits. I’m sure there are many out there with low quality astrology information, so I’m curious if folks have recommendations for specific options.
Are there particular planet-sign/house placements or are there specific aspect arrangements that are determinative of high economic status?
I have been examining the charts of some of the most influencial financiers in history. The robber barons of the 1800s. Modern oligarchs like Elon Musk. Monopolists like the CEO of Blackrock. I have not been able to find a common astrological thread between them.
The one thing I can't examine is their house placements. Their specific birth times could not be found.
Experienced astrologers, What are your insights on this matter?
I know that Pluto effect us personally if it aspects personal planets .. Does that includes the Zodiac sign it is in ? Example: Is Sun conjuct Pluto in (Libra) same Sun conjuct Pluto in (Scorpio) or it doesn't matter ?
I want to know names and YT channels of people that are considered to be top astrologers and have useful and accurate content. I have found a few but there are also a lot of underwhelming channels. I'd love to hear from the community and get some recs
Thank you
Hi i’m looking for resources or advice. I feel like i’ve gotten the hang of looking at individual parts of the chart (planet, house, sign, aspects) but I have trouble with putting all that information together
I was thinking about all of the different square aspects by modality and how in each set of four, there are 2 signs in square aspect that seem to have a slightly easier pairing while the other 2 seem especially opposed. I wanted to get others' thoughts on this and whether you agree and what it might indicate?
CARDINAL
Aries & Capricorn seem like they'd have an easier to navigate square than Aries and Cancer. Perhaps I'm thinking of Aries' ruler Mars exalted in Capricorn and fallen in Cancer and that both these signs seem to be able to put emotions or other people's feelings aside more to achieve their goals whereas Libra and Cancer seem more concerned with harmony, nurturing, feelings, etc? That said, it's interesting that Capricorn's ruler Saturn is exalted in Libra so perhaps the Capricorn-Libra square has a slight favorable edge over the Aries-Cancer one?
FIXED
Leo and Taurus on paper would seem to click a bit more than Leo and Scorpio. I envision Leo and Taurus both enjoying the finer things in life - nice spas, fancy dinners, grand resorts, etc. and with the Sun and Venus there would seem to be an emphasis on vitality, the pleasures of life, etc. I realize both can be stubborn and clash in that way, but with Leo and Scorpio it feels like a very light vs dark energy with little in common, and Aquarius feels very futuristic, in its head, detached while Taurus is tied to reality, earthly pleasures, being in the present so that combo feels more stressful. I know there was just another post about the Aquarius-Scorpio square but that relationship with malefics Mars (Pluto modern) and Saturn as the rulers seems to share some qualities of standing in opposition to the norm or collective as in Scorpio not mincing words or changing itself to fit in and Aquarius being rebellious or standing apart for being naturally different than the collective current.
MUTABLE
This one is most evident as it's the only one with two signs sharing traditional rulers within the squares. So naturally it would seem Gemini and Virgo, although perhaps representing two sides of the same coin (an external vs internal integration of Mercury), would at least gel a bit better with their shared rulership than Virgo & Sag or Gemini & Pisces. Likewise, Sagittarius and Pisces with shared rulership by Jupiter seem like they'd be more open to different people and experiences and would be able to click a bit more together than the squares between the Jupiter sign and a Mercury sign.
Anyway, just reflecting on these and would like to hear some others' takes on this.
im really into astrology and can kind of read a synastry chart, but im more curious on how the planet person interacts with the house person vice versa. like the difference kind of if that makes sense😅
Pretty much what the title says. I'm looking for some serious news which can update me about the current astrological/astronomical phenomena. Not some cheap news horoscopes, but with actual serious erudition, charts, aspects, retrogrades etc.
I just saw a video from a doctor who works on maternity wards here in the UK. He was talking about how babies' times-of-birth are recorded when the clocks change, and that a baby can be legally older but biologically younger e.g. one baby is born at 01:45am before daylight savings kicks in, while another baby is born 30 mins later at 01:15am because the clocks have changed in that time. This also means that there are two 1 o clocks, so there'll be a baby who is biologically an hour older but legally born at the exact same time. For those two babies whose time is recorded as 01:15 even though one was born an hour earlier, years later they'll look for their rising sign and it'll come up with the same thing. The daylight saving baby might not even know to account for that when calculating their chart, because few people are so specific with their times of birth that they say they were born "01:15 GMT" "01:15 BST".
Generally, an hour doesn't make a huge difference in rising sign but like... what about the times it does lol? Never given it any thought and now I'm fascinated.
I give up on figuring out how to read these charts. Any resources that can interpret in a straightforward way? Every youtube tutorial I've found is confusing AF.
What exactly says what activities the native finds enlivening, what fills them with vitality and energy when they do them?
Is this basically about the placement of the Sun?
The moon, since it governs the emotions?
Is it a matter of the ruler of the Lot of Spirit or the lord of the ascendant?
Or does every planet potentially have the power to give energy if one acts in accord with its placements in the chart?
What might you look at to see what a chart indicates for a person to sell handmade crafts?
I know about looking for career, daily activities and money but curious about things like hand made crafts and selling those.
Thanks!
My two favorite things. I know there was a sports thread but I'm only interested in the NBA. Really interested in how the US election will affect the NBA because if the chart is correct it's having a Pluto opposite Pluto transit and I think election fallout will affect the season. A lot of stadiums are in areas where protests will be happening. Also this transit is evident in the betting scandal and recent team lawsuits and investigations.
Hi astrologers!
I have been learning astrology for a while now and I have realised a few things which I wanted some clarification:
- If you have relocated, it is more meaningful to look at your relocation birth chart than your natal chart to understand your personality, behaviour and, preferences because houses shift. So, the natal chart is less important when you relocate?
- Houses 1-5-9 govern your self-expression. A teacher told me that if you want to interpret how someone expresses themselves, look at their 1st, 5th, and 9th house cusps. For e.g. if your 1st is in Aries, but 5th and 9th are in water signs, you might actually be super emotional and introverted. Is that interpretation valid?
Feedback would be lovely. Thank you!!!
What can we glean about climate change for the next say 10 - 30years (or beyond) by looking at it through an astrological lenses?
It feels like a very scary and precarious time, especially with concerns for rapid global warming. I’m wondering what astrologers are saying, if anything at all?
Let's say you have someone who wants to have a basic overall view. How would you start out? Like as if they were 5yo? What is the basic premise/purpose behind it? I am looking for as any beginning approaches as possible. Thank you!
Hi! Can someone please explain the concept of the Vertex? For both natal and transit.
Is it an ancient, Hellenistic concept? Or something more new?
What are the significations of an un-aspected Vertex in the natal chart?
Thank you :)
So I'm wondering exactly how individual aspects really are. As I'm learning more about astrology I'm noticing some things are quite personal and others are more, shall we say, generational. And then there's all the things in between 🤣
Like if I look at a chart and see kites and trines and oppositions and crosses, how much of that is going to be reflected in everyone born that day? It seems like few bodies are going to change significantly enough to change the aspects but I dont know enough about how fast planets move to know that for sure.
My assumption right now is that the truly personal and individual aspects need to be with the Moon, the Ascendant/Descendant angle and maybe Mercury and Venus? Am I wrong? It seems like everything else would take days, weeks, months to change out of aspect with each other.
I’m not sure how best to word this but I can’t seem to find the answer online. I’m pretty familiar with my birth chart at this point, and I understand the daily aspects are relative to your birth chart, but I’m having trouble understanding what people look at day to day. But it also sounds like some transits affect everyone? When people are “getting into” astrology is it more understanding your birth chart? Or is it more the daily changes? And which parts are specific to each person and which are for everyone? And there seem to be so many transits for every day, it can feel a bit overwhelming. Are there particular ones to focus on?
Like for example, let’s say Mercury is in Virgo (which would be for everyone?) but my birth chart Mercury is in Libra. Would that time have different meanings for everyone based on your birth chart? But it would be similar because the planet placement is the same for everyone? I hope that makes sense.
I like to look at the bigger picture and I noticed that there are some patterns in people’s natal chart that are very common. One of them is the generational planet which aligns perfectly with the each generation. So essentially, Gen Z(1996 to 2010, I think) is the type of generation that really wants to travel and just be around different cultures. They’re also interested in education and philosophical things. And if you happen to be Gemini rising/ascendent, it’s so much more significant because very likely your relationship would be someone from a different culture, or from school/University. Kind of like a study abroad relationship.
I am also trying to figure out how the planet Pluto is so broad that it applies to large group of people yet it also rules secrets and deep transformations in a personal way. Can someone explain this to me? Can anyone relate to this placement in their chart?
I’m curious to hear some life events who played out during a transit Pluto squaring natal Mars.
My sense has also been that things get the most chaotic and high energy (both good and bad) for a certain time frame right before the actual planet movement to the new house and then this continues for a period after it's landed in the new house.
Seeing as Pluto will find its new home in Aquarius - next month - how long will that initial phase of loaded energy last? Understand that in general this new Pluto will bring a lot of change and shift in different areas. But my focus is on the more immediate. Once it moves for good in November. Does that initial move/adjustment period last a month? Two months?
I’m trying to learn about all the different planets transiting through the different houses. Is there any good books for websites for this?
If we look at the natal charts of known/respected psyics of our time ; will there be commonalities between them?
Does certain placements suggest psychic tendencies or abilities, if so, what are some examples?
A lot of talk about the benefits of having jupiter in the 1st, 10th or 11th house as it enhances finances, social status, opportunities etc etc, but what if saturn is placed conjunct jupiter in any house.
Would it contain Jupiter's expansive energy or just completely undo it. I recently saw that Kim Kardashian had both Jupiter and Saturn in her 10th, as well as pluto I couldn't wrap my head around how that could possibly work out like it did for her.
No opinions please, I'm just curious because a couple months back people on here said there won't be an election so to say, they said there could be a huge weather event happening as well. I know things can be misinterpreted but I'm interested if there's any indications in either of their charts, I haven't been able to read them well.
Are they valuable?
I've seen it mentioned in both, randomly, in several websites. Is that so? And what is the difference in the approach, then, if any?
