I saw this amazing rig on my socials the other day and Im wondering if there is something similar to Blenders Geometry nodes in 3dsmax?
Hope this is allowed here but I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with using CAD software for game assets?
Been using 3ds max for years but recently I've been trying Plasticity (CAD for artists) and was curious if it's something worth learning.
On this plane surface I am using Vray Displacement mod. How can I not have this straight sharp edges. If I reduce displacement intensity, then the carpet grains are also reduced. Either I am looking for smooth edges or some fade out.

Should I scale up the environment and characters or have true measurements?

Anybody tried it lately? I tried last year but it wasn't giving any good results and kept making syntax error which i couldn't fix myself. But last weekend I was able to put together a simple set of tools in like 5 hours or so.
has anyone had any luck with this workflow? any tips that you can share? I am using chatgpt unpaid plan rn, is there any alternate that I can try?

It's a set of tools to work with material Ids. the best 2 controls are the ones at the bottom
Unify : tries to go through the selected polygons and assigns the most frequent material ID to all the polygons selected.
Auto ID : assign different ids to "poly elements" (just like that modifier I think)
And yes its probably buggy.
Hi all, I’m in the process of making a short animation of an F35 jet and I’m looking for some animation tips.
Having not really done much in the way of animation over the years I feel there is a whole toolset I’m not aware of so I’m hoping this will reveal a few new tips to me.
I have two options for the main movement of the body of the jet (ignoring details like flaps etc for now):
link the jet to a dummy with a bit of noise for turbulence, which is in turn linked to another dummy that is on a path constraint.
manual key frames for all movement.
The first option really isn’t realistic for anything other then flying in a straight line and the 2nd option is tedious and not very flexible if I want to make changes.
How would you go about rigging this?

I am doing some work in 3ds Max Corona render and I am more used to Vray. The work is making 3D terrain with tiling, texture repetition, blending different textures with masks and using UVW randomization.
The issue is in 3ds Max I can place Vray UVW randomizer in front of the texture node. That is great because I can change tiling with many textures from 1 node. As I see it Corona does not have that option, so I need to plug Corona Mapping Randomized after each texture and it is lots of extra work if I need to adjust tiling.
Do you know any workaround to adjust Corona mapping randomizer from 1 node?

Hi all i am new on this reddit, I have been using 3ds max for many years now I love its simplicity in comparsion to blender which i am still learning sort of.
Anyway I need a bit of help I am probably stupid and you will all go its a x or x texture but any help would be a appreciated. I have textures like these to use as part of a main texture and i dont know what this texture would be and where to use it in vray material.

Is there any way of using DR to render different frames of a project? I tried setting up Deadline... it was a nightmare. I have 3 machines connected to DR. I want to render out some short animations... but it will only render 1 frame at a time. It takes around 5 minutes for the other machines to kick in and by that the time, the frame is already complete. So they never kick in and help render times. Any way around this? TIA
There is no option to increase my packing density after uv unwrapping in my 3ds max. i am going Open uv editor > tools > pack uvs then a flyout is opening but it has no packing resolution option. how can i increase my resolution other wide my textures are not sharp.

sun- intensity 1 size is 7 default vray sky in envt
ies- multiplier is 500 temp - 6000
sphere light- multiplier is 600 temp - 6000
wall texture is white
why there is no lights
scene have 6 ies lights whose multiplier is 2500
dome light light multiplier is 500
3 sphere lights multiplier 500
then also no lights why??
Hello, in this simple case I got 4 instances of the same object, but each linked to a diferent moving object...
Im wondering if there is any "easy" way to force a single light mesh to cast light on all instances... It is mostly a case of keep the scene with the minimum elements to tweak, since in this case all would respond the same aside the hierarchy.
Maybe is just imposible, Im not finding decent info about this topic. Anyways thx for your time reading this.
I’m having trouble modeling seams in this section. Can someone show me how to do this?
I tried adding extrusion inward to create the defined seam but it just messed up the object.

i want to unwrap the faces of this model, to print a physical (paper) texture and place them on a 3d print of this model. is there any way inside unwrap modifier to keep the exact dimension of the polygon without deforming it so it will be an accurate print? see attached image.

Hello I have a question. I need to render a product that will be in a very simple scene with a shadow catcher and HDRI map. And I need to render a product with a selection of 50 materials and colors (so not the same every time) And with that I need 3 different camera angles. And for one of the cameras I need the model to rotate 360 degrees so Iget 36 pictures.
So, Ive been thinking of animating the materials but that doesn't allow me to select the material that I want to batch render. And I need all of this to render to different folders with a different name for every material and color.
What would you guys suggest being the best approach?
