Does anyone know a place (preferably in the Oberland region) where you can dispose of tires at a reasonable price? We're talking about around 20 old tires, some of which still have decent tread. I know that any mechanic or tire dealer will take them, but with this quantity, I'd like to be mindful of the cost.
Hi! I’m on the lookout for a drumming group to join! I’ve been playing the cajon for a while now, so I’m not a complete beginner, but I’m eager to learn more and jam with others. If you’re part of a group or know of any drumming circles that welcome new members, please let me know.
I was getting a kebab round 7pm last night when a huge procession of people with lanterns and drums went down Limmatstrasse. It was a few blocks away so I could just see the silhouettes and couldn't quite make out what was going on, but it seemed pretty cute.
Anyone know what all that was about? Do people celebrate Allerheiligen/ All Saints Day in Zürich or was it completely unrelated?
Thanks if anyone can answer this!
I am looking for some football in Winterthur ( non asvz), any contacts or leads would be appreciated. I am open to join some amateur club where I can train and play consistently. Thank you.
Kennt jemand gute Tanzkurse in Zürich für Streetdance, Hip-Hop oder Jazz?
Does anyone know good dance classes in Zurich for Streetdance, Hip-Hop, or Jazz?
😊
Hello everyone
I am learning chinese (普通话)for a few years now. As I would like to immerse myself in chinese culture a little bit more I wanted to ask if there were any chinese communities in Zurich where I can meet Chinese people and do chinese things together. Or find people as language exchange partners. I know Zurich is small and has no china town, but maybe I am still missing some places or events :)
Thanks for any hints!
I didnt get a ticke but a friend of mine did so now im looking for one, so if someone does have a spare one pls message me thanks.
Dear all,
I am an international student, who just graduated from ETH. I got a letter stating my exemption from obligatory health insurance for students has ended. I thus need to buy another compulsory health insurance. Could you guys recommend to me which is the cheapest health insurance in Zurich I could buy which is also accepted by the Stadt Zurich?
Thank you so much!
Hi all, I was recently victim of an abusive termination of my job contract. My question is: how would be more or less the cost of a lawyer if the case end up in front of the judge? Thanks!
Hello everyone,
I recently decided to go back to school and thanks to my uni background, I'll be able to join an Msc in Finance. The process will take 2 years and I'll work in a bank along it.
My plan is to move to Zurich in the next 2-3 years.
I'm French, fluent in English and was wondering about learning German during those years to increase my chance to get a job.
Do you have any other recommendations about skills I could learn until I'm graduated ?
Thanks!
Hello I have a vinyl player from audio technical that requires a separate amplifier and speakers. But for the life of me, I am unable to get it to work. The sound is scratchy and very soft.
Would anyone know a place that I can bring my vinyl player in to check or a service personnel to help me at home?
Throwaway account as my kid is right now hospitalised. Couple of days ago I had to take him into emergency and today they moved us to the new hospital behind the Balgriest.
What to say. Beautiful location, great services, friendly staff... I'm more than happy from this point of view.
What I can't figure out is why the hell they built it here. I can only think because it's where the rich kids are, directly on the gold coast, with some rooms having even lake view.
I live in Zurich north and I'm wondering now if I have an emergency if it make more sense to bring my kid to the Waidspital (which is definitely less equipped than the Elenore) or drive more than one hour to reach here... All within the limits of Zurich city... Although very very near Zollikon and the rest of the coast. I don't know the children distribution within the kanton and if it might make sense from that point of view, but I believe there's way more kids in the poorer areas of Zurich than here.
Do you know any place where we can watch the US election live in Zürich? Bar or restaurant open?
I am a 27yo male, by profession Software Engineer.
I am very much struggling now, I have no money for rent. I had a good job but I decided to quit some time ago, and also went through a breakup with my ex-partner.
It's been a very rough year on so many levels for me and I have no idea what to do.
I need a job urgently but I cannot find.
I have high education from UK, and now I found myself stuck in this position, due to my own negative thinking and depression.
Social welfare is not an option since I have permit B and I don't want to lose it.
I am in dire need of any kind of job or any guidance, just to get back on my feet.
EDIT: Thanks for suggestions and messages. I am from UK and have been on RAV last year when I decided to quit
I’m looking to move at the beginning of december. Can any one recommend a moving company and a company to do the cleaning (with abnahmegarantie) from your personal experience?
There’s too many to filter and reviews are all similar.
Thanks a lot in advance!
My gf is landing in 1 hour, where can I book a restaurant last minute ?
Give me your best suggestions :) What's your favourite hidden gem? :)
Whenever I get an MRI or CT scan, the results are usually available on an online portal where I can log in to view the data. This is really helpful, especially when I need to share the scans with a new doctor.
Earlier this year, I had to visit the ER at a hospital in Zurich, where they did a CT scan. Do you know if it's possible to access these ER scan data through a patient portal? Or is this data typically unavailable to patients online?
I tried calling the hospital, but the office was closed, so I just emailed them. I thought I’d check here as well in case anyone has experience with this. Thanks!
Any recommendations on where to go (within 2 hrs by public transportation) to see the best scenery with leaves changing?
No shops seem to sell them. Need it for my iron. Any good online stores anyone can recommend?

Hey guys! I need a authentication/Beglaubigung of my degree and as far as I was able to research it’s at least 20 Francs per page at the Do you know the quickest and cheapest way to get it?
My friend is subletting a standard furnished studio apartment in Zurich’s Kreis 4. The rent is 1,245 CHF, but the main tenant is charging her 1,500 CHF per month and also asked for a 1,500 CHF deposit. Is this legal, and is she being overcharged?
EDIT: the rent is 1245 CHF and not 1250 CHF so he’s charging her more than 20% for furniture.
Hoi zämme,
Der Titel sagt vermutlich schon alles. Am liebsten Richtung Albisrieden, Triemli die Ecke, aber all Tips are welcome.
Danke im Voraus!
Anyone have experience renting from https://www.room4u.ch?
It's not cheap, but also not crazy for short term rentals.
I'm looking to set up a wood workshop for a project for about 9 months
Hi all,
I have been parking there for 3 years (Enge parking, next to the lake). I work nearby.
So, here's what I did, just like any other day:
06:17 am: I arrived, paid via Easypark, 4 hours
10:18 am: I renew via the app
10:28: Time of the fine
I'm slightly confused:
- Easypark allows for 4 hours in a row, while the fine states 2h max. Am I to blame? I suppose that explains 40 CHF out of 80.
- I did not pay before the end of the previous parking session, so I totally don't get the 2nd infraction
While the fine itself is super annoying because I feel like I did everything correctly, it's even more annoying to not know what's actually wrong ... Should I simply not use Easypark ?
(In the meantime I did an appeal and did not pay yet
Hello!
I’m a Canadian who has recently become a resident of Zürich. As it is the first of November, it’s considered respectful for Canadians to wear red poppies on their lapel out of remembrance for those who served and sacrificed during wartime efforts.
That being said, we’re not in Canada anymore and I’d love to gain some perspective on the appropriateness of wearing it in Zürich. Perhaps I’m afraid of causing offence. Even within the commonwealth countries there has been controversy over wearing it and not wearing it. Perhaps poppies mean something entirely different here or maybe no one would care. Just want to do my due diligence/ scratch a curiosity itch.
Thank you for any and all commentary, eh.
I love soba noodles and used to have it everyday for lunch, but haven't had success seeing them at migros/coop/spar (at least the ones I live near). So far, I've only gotten them from Nishi but as you can imagine, it's crazy expensive. Where can I buy it possibly in bulk? In Zurich would be ideal, but if I need to train somewhere to do it, I will as long as it's worth it.
I'm looking to join a hip hop dance group in zurich that will practice choreography, rehearse for performances, and possibly compete. I see a few kpop teams on instagram, but none that are traditional hip hop. Thanks!
Hello guys
I'm a 23yr old guy that finished a bachelor degree in fashion business in London. I've moved back to Zürich with the intention of starting to work, been sending out applications everyday and have easily sent out 80+ applications by now. I've only been invited to one interview, which the job i ended up not getting.
I speak swiss german/german, english, french and japanese, did an english college in zürich, went on to study in london and i can't find a job?
Having basically no experience in work is incredible, i haven't been getting any invitations to job interviews.
What can i do to improve my chances ? (If you have a job PM me and i will send my CV🤓)
Update: Ticket already taken now.
