When the bottle is so good you’re reluctant to review it and blow up your own spot.

Have an opportunity to preorder Ichiro's Malt Chichibu on Japan Airlines. I've never had Chichibu and wondering if it will be worth the $200?

Japan Airlines is currently offering 468 bottles of 2024 Ichiro's Malt Chichibu available for first and business class passengers in November and December (preorder only, for $200). I don't know a ton about this particular whisky, but poking around this thread and other whisky threads, it appears Chichibu is fairly high sought after by collectors. I would be purchasing this to consume, not to resell.

Looking for advice and opinions if it's worth the price tag, or just expensive because of the rarity/scarcity and not worth the hype.

Below is a link to the pre-order catalog that has all of the details I could find on this particular bottle.

Hi all

Was just wondering if anyone had information about this specific bottle? What year, is it special and price?

Thank you

Japanese whisky that uses Japanese peat?

My sister is travelling to Japan soon, and I'm convincing her to bring me back a bottle. It's more likely that she'll end up grabbing something from duty free on the way home than visit a specialist shop for me, but on the off chance they have time are there any bottlings you're aware of that exclusively uses Japanese peat? I've been very interested in regional peat for a while now.

Other than that, she's flying back from Narita airport - can anyone say what bottles she might be able to pick up from duty free and what price they're going to be, compared to here in the UK?

What do you guys do with your shitty whisky?

I recently found a bottle of "the daisen" wine cask whiskey from Kurayoshi distillery in one of my suitcases. I opened it and it smelt and tasted disgusting, almost like it was spoiled. It was so bad i tried to add sparkling water to water it down but to no avail it still tasted awful. What do you guys usually do with your really poor tasting whisky?

Amrut ex-port pipe 8yr

8 years ex port pipe Amrut at cask strength.

Not a full review but I picked up this bottle on Seelbach for about $70 a bottle. I picked up 3 and it sold out after. I figure they got the price wrong cause it's $200+ anywhere else...

Neck pour tastes like an old longrow red port cask, except instead of the campeltown funk, you get that Indian whiskey funk of dark raisin and tropical fruit, almost like a caramelized banana.

Possibly one of the best whiskey I had this year.
