Vinyl Me, Please is a record of the month club that believes in the power of an album as an art form. Since launching in January of 2013, our goal has been, and always will be to deliver personal listening experiences that help you not only discover your next favorite album, but yourself in the process.
Each day we make it our mission to search far and wide for incredible music that otherwise might go unnoticed all in an effort to deliver the richest, most meaningful listening experiences to our members. edit: If you don't want to order, don't. You don't need to be an asshole and downvote.
Hello, anyone could comment on the sound on this one?
Thought I had unsubscribed forever ago. But they still decide to send me an email saying they have "limited stock" of Master of Reality. Open it up within 60 seconds of getting the email and it's already gone. Fuck these clowns
Estimated shipping date is now set to July 💀
What's your VMP top 3? Give me some inspiration.
Mine:
I have about 60 VMP pressings that I acquired through the years. I'm going to start to go back through the catalog and pick up some greats that I might have missed on the secondary market. I have a feeling that if VMP goes under some of these rarer or great pressings are going to be sought after even more so than they are now.
Can’t believe it’s finally happening.
Is there any update on these? Saw that we were supposed to be getting a timeline update Jan 25th?
Email finally sent from VMP - sounds like they'll get it out towards the end of Feb? THANK GOODNESS
Wtf are they on…
I have been a customer of VMP for many years. I understand the company is in shambles but I want to make you aware of something else.
For the first time ever VMP has shipped my record with Collect on Delivery (COD). From the Canada Post Website: We collect the payment on behalf of the sender before handing the parcel over to the addressee.
Collect on delivery makes the person receiving the parcel pay for the shipping cost. Canada Post will only give me my January Record of the Month if I drive to the local post office and pay $21.00 CAD upon pickup.
Literally the high international premium I paid with my subscription was to cover the steep cost of international shipping. Now VMP is offloading that shipping cost on the customer? I already paid for it. Literally another way of screwing international members. Not only could we not get what we paid for we have to pay extra for it.
I wasn't interested in anything this month so I swapped for the new Father John Misty. It is crazy to think it will cost me over $100 CAD for a record I can get the indie exclusive at for ~$45 at my local shop.
Will international members be eligible for todays refund? This has become pathetic.
Was able to select Demon Days for my Feb. record, which clearly isn't possible since it's not available. They really ruined their whole system.
Not trying to be dramatic here, but it seems like a lot of people missed this in the FAQ section:
“If you wish to cancel your membership, we are making a temporary exception to our mid-term cancellation policy. Starting Jan 27 (when the Swap window opens), if you wish to cancel your membership and get a pro-rated refund (either for store credit or back to your original payment method), please email info@vinylmeplease.com, and we'll help you. Mid-term cancellation requests made after Feb 15 will not be eligible for this exception.“
You have a 19 day window. The information is found at the bottom of the FAQ page:

Okay, Heart’s Little Queen and Kacey Musgraves’ Pageant Material were both on the list yesterday, and now they’re gone. What the fuck?
Anyone else see records disappear?
This is apparently confirmed, per Paul on the Discord. He also said positive motion on Grateful Dead but couldn't confirm date. All drama and speculation aside, I just want my stuff.

Any other international members being hit with import duty on this month's ROTM shipment? Never been asked for additional taxes on any other deliveries from them before.
Never would have even thought to listen to Don Blackman. He’s great !! Reading about his career and life was interesting too.
My ROTM (and a few other bundled titles - replacements and use of my remaining store credit) are showing as shipped but they haven't actually been picked up by DHL. The same thing happen in December so they're "resending" this month.
Has anyone actually received their January ROTM or have it showing as being picked up by a courier yet? Trying to understand whether they are legitimately still sending out records or just taking people's money at this point. I'm a UK customer fwiw.
Saw a discussion lead to not getting back orders. Went to double check I was done done. September 2019 through October 2024. 121 orders, that's 2 records a month. I can't be their best customer.... How could they ruin a good thing. Who has the most orders in their history? Or biggest average?
Hi all,
emailed VMP today about Story of Grateful Dead and estimated shipping. They actually responded within an hour and said: "As per our production calendar, this release is still anticipated to ship in January 2025". Take from it what you will but I was a little encouraged they responded within an hour and that the Blue Note anthology started shipping. Then again, may just be grasping for any positive news.
…ever receive these 3 titles
Just got an email from VMP saying that the Story of Blue Note Records anthology is now shipping!!!
I'm going to say that I have no dog in this fight, and I cancelled VMP years ago when this downslide started.
But almost every thread on this sub currently mentioning something along the lines of
If I was in your shoes, I would cancel now and request refunds. And for all orders past due that have no shipping date and no refund within 10 days, start a card dispute. Period. Look at the trends. It's over. Everyday you wait is another day that it becomes less likely that you get your records OR get your money. If you are in a position where you cannot file a dispute with any specific billing service, you should just write the money off, as painful as that can be. If the record does appear one day, amazing. But stop counting on it. This has become the equivalent of waiting at a restaurant for 5 hours after putting in your orders because it used to be good and you prepaid.
I miss VMP. I'm with you. It really was a highlight of my month and the vinyl hobby for a long time. I still cherish many of their releases. But those days are gone. This company has been on life support for a couple years. These pressings aren't THAT special. Relieve yourself of the stress, get your cash if you can and move on.
I'm sorry to be so blunt, but it's time. I'm tell you from the outside. It. Is. Time. You don't owe them anything, and they owe you actual material goods or funds. You won't get your time back, so at least get your money back... while you still can.
After sending an email to VMP customer service I am feeling a little nervous about the Young Thug records I ordered. (Barter 6 & Beautiful Thugger Girls)
I pre-ordered both quite a while ago, and they were supposed to ship in January, and my order still says this.
However, when I reached out to CS they said:
"I understand you're inquiring about the status of your order. After reviewing, I see that we are still awaiting the release of Young Thug's Beautiful Thugger Girls and Barter 6*. Unfortunately, it has been delayed, and the estimated timeline for its arrival is still to be discussed."*
So it's not even just necessarily delayed, but they are "discussing" the timeline...What is there to discuss? That is a very noncommital and vague answer!
Does anyone else feel nervous that we might not actually get these? Bought from VMP many, many times but just feeling weird about this transaction atm. Thanks in advance :)
BlueNote and Verve are both starting their own subscription services and if you were a fan of the Classics ROTM track you might be interested.
The Verve Record Club will offer exclusive reissues from their catalogue similar to the Acoustic Sounds series. All records will be mastered all analog, cut by Kevin Grey, and pressed at RTI and will come in a numbered, tip-on jacket. This kicks off in February with John Coltrane “Coltrane”, followed by Nina Simone “High Priestess of Soul”, and Louis Armstrong “Hello, Dolly.” It will range from $41-47 depending on how many months you commit to. Shipping is included.
The Tone Poet Society offers two records a month, with all the usual features: Kevin Grey, mastered from analog, pressed by RTI, tip-on jacket. It seems like it will be the same records they’re wide releasing, but delivered two weeks early. They do offer some perks depending on what tier you select, like free shipping, access to buy exclusive titles, and test pressings. It starts this month with Dizzy Reece “Blues In Trinity” and Horace Parlan “Up & Down.” The also the schedule for the entire year already planned. Prices range from $30.98-38.98 per record depending on your commitment.
I think we’ll see more of these VMP competitors popping up as they continue to lose the confidence of their customer base. UMG, which owns both Verve and BlueNote, have pretty good track records in terms of quality reissues and customer service, so I’m hopeful.
