For some reason I've never owned any type of garment in my favorite color, but today I changed that, and I'm obsessed😭❤️ lovely off shoulder 50s Hawaiian sundress.. I'm adding to my wardrobe whilst slowly sorting through the things I need to get rid of😅 washed a bunch I decided to part with today
I was awarded this uniform by a retired AT&T executive after I fixed his internet. I can’t recall the year, or if it’s even worth anything… can’t find it anywhere online, thoughts?
Please use this weekly thread to ask for help assessing how much a vintage item should cost. Any posts that are made outside of this thread will get removed.
Your comment should include a link to the item being discussed and any research you've already done on the item. Thanks!
Hi! I'm looking for flared jeans like the ones they wore in the 70's, slightly tighter up top before flaring out. I live in Norway and I can't seem to find anything that matches in newer models. The closest thing I've come are Levi's bootcuts, but they're not tight enough up top. I'm a 33W/34L, long slim legs and not much to speak of in terms of other curves. Any websites or other tips are much appreciated! Thanks.
Recently I acquired a great collection of Victorian era clothing. Actual beaver fur top hats with custom leather cases, lingerie (net) summer weight corset covers, and a lot of mourning bonnets and womens waistcoats.
The corset covers have dead elastic, and a few of the waistcoat have dry rot from the iffy black dye used back then.
Should I repair the elastic and lightly darn the splits prior to selling?
So guys- Ive been a vintage mens clothing dealer for over 25 years so for the record i am not a beginner re-seller. My question to anyone who is working in this niche market might sound very obvious but its really not - well not any more. WHERE do those re-sellers on the familiar platforms CONSISTENTLY (key word here is consistently) find, and by find i mean listing 20-30 pieces of pristine 1920's -1950's MENS clothing almost on a daily basis.
Thrift/Consignment shops - You'll be hard pressed to CONSISTENTLY find vintage that old for MEN.
Yard sales/estates - You'll be hard pressed to CONSISTENTLY find vintage that old for MEN.
Bins - You'll be hard pressed to CONSISTENTLY find vintage that old for MEN.
Retirement homes/nursing homes - putting ad's - Good luck.
Fleas/Vintage fairs - You'll be hard pressed to CONSISTENTLY find vintage that old for MEN.
And NO - Most of these re-sellers DO NOT have huge warehouses filled with this rare commodity already from years of collecting as i know many of these re-sellers in my area and they do not have huge stashes they are sitting on - just take my word on this one.
So what gives?
Can anyone solve this enigma? Obviously there must be another tunnel not yet discovered.
Cheers
PS if you need examples of these re-sellers i'll be happy to supply but i think most of you know who the hard-hitters are on ebay/etsy.
I want a collectif cardigan but only size 10 and 14 are in stock. My chest is 90cm. I already have a size 10 cardigan from them and it is pretty tight. Would the 14 be too large?
Found this Loralie dress on Poshmark but the seller says it runs small for a size 14. I usually wear a US 12. Does anyone have experience with Loralie original sizing? It is gorgeous
Hi all, would anyone be able to ID this vintage bag? Only clues are that the internal zipper says "BLITZ" and there is some sort of line on the big front metal piece (included in pics). It's definitely some type of leather, smells of leather. Inside is just a plain black fabric. My vintage reseller friend is guessing it's some sort of unlabeled luxury brand, but we can't find another online exactly like it. It's built like a tank, the leather is so thicc and the metal parts are HEAVY.
Delete this post if I'm in the wrong group, I'm not looking for a value, just wanna know what I found:)
Big front metal piece I mentioned
They were incredibly popular during my early and middle childhood years (80s).
