My mom found a bag of these buttons at a thrift store. They are enamel on silver metal. Google lens shows just a few images for loius feraud clip on earrings that have the same design. Any idea what these might have been part of? Are they of any value?
Hi all, feel free to redirect me if this isn't the correct forum for this question. I inherited a gorgeous blue velvet dress with a back zipper from a relative. I can slip into it, but I'm a little too wide to zip it. I took it to.a seamstress who confirmed that it can't be let out without being compromised. Are there other ways that it could be made to fit?
Please let me know.
So I take my inspiration in this one from the old 70s bootlegger type movies, White Lightning, Gator, Smokey and the bandit, etc. Pants are Wrangler Wrancher, Shirt is a Panhandle Slim, boots are Dan Post Python, vest is a goodwill find, watch is a 1972 Tomex reissue.
Hello! Hope this is appropriate to post here (if there are other communities you guys know of that might have tips on this please let me know!).
I came into possession of a HUGE collection of antique & vintage (1910s-90s) sewing patterns from a deaccessioned museum collection including sewing guides, magazines, and other ephemera. I don't sew so I've been selling the patterns on eBay, but several of the guides (particularly the WWII era ones) seem pretty special and I feel like I should digitize them somehow.
Does anyone here know of a place I could digitize them for free public access? I'm no archivist but I love history and feel like I should make some kind of an effort to get these out there for people who might be interested!
Hello! I recently purchased a vintage purse (fabric coin purse) and it has some dye stains on it, inside the lining and some outside as well. The seller said they soaked the purse to clean it and the dye bled through. It’s in great condition otherwise so I really I would appreciate any advice if there’s any way to gently clean it a bit to remove the staining without damaging the color/fabric further. Thanks!
I own several very synthetic 60s and 70s dresses. They feel like wearing plastic bags. What can I do to be more comfortable when wearing them?
Slips obviously.
But did people do anything else when wearing these dresses, or did they just accept being drippingly sweaty?
