Clothes for 1809

I’m reading a book and I’m trying to picture the clothes the characters would be wearing but I’m having a hard time finding exactly what I’m looking for. What would a young girl and her family have worn on a simple farm in the Catskills in 1809-ish? I’ve found outfits for farmers from the 1750s and outfits for more upscale stylish ladies in the early 1800s, but I can’t seem to find an example a simple girl’s daily dress from the early 1800s. It’s one of my favorite books and I’m just trying to get a nice clear picture of the characters.

The hot and humid climates

I adore looking at all these stunning outfits, but as I sit here in a very hot and humid part of the world (northern Australia), I wonder how on earth women coped with the weather. All those layers, even in cotton and linen, must have made life almost unbearable.
I honestly don’t know how they survived!

Old Tintype - What period ?

I am hoping y'all might be able to help narrow down a date range for this tiny old tintype I inherited. No label/names unfortunately (though I do have my suspicions). Based on the collection this came from, the subjects are relations of mine from either Alabama or Nova Scotia.

Men’s coat checkered front and back but with plain sleeves. Any ideas what this coat was, from 1930s, found in I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith.

Ive tried looking up this coat, but no luck. As the text says, the characters are American but have moved to the English countryside. The character Neil was raised in California and eventually buys a ranch, if that helps.
