The road on the slope from Greimet to Ülgüp
India 2024
Dean Village is about a 10-minute walk from Princes Street. However, most tourists don’t venture here, making it a beautiful and tranquil destination. The village was a mill community in the 12th century and has long been an agricultural and economic hub with over 800 years of grain milling history. The buildings date back to the 16th century, and the houses and streets retain their ancient charm. The village once boasted various mills, and you can still see industrial remnants, such as millstones and stone slabs inscribed with bread and pie markings.
Getting There: Dean Village is vehicle-free, so walking is the best way to explore this lovely village. It’s very close to Princes Street, just a 5 to 10-minute walk. Head west from Princes Street to Bells Brae, and walk downhill to reach Dean Village.
Itinerary: We flew from London and found a newcomer discount on trip.com ads, saved us seven pounds, so we only paid nine pounds each for our tickets.
Visiting Time: If you want to explore deeply, Dean Village isn't small; allowing two hours will provide a very relaxing experience as you stroll along the river and venture into the forest trails.
