Looking for a streaming device that can play my own downloaded content? Does the shield do that?

Anyone else getting slow speeds from updated version 3.12.1 ? for the last 2 weeks I've only been getting half the normal speed I get with ss on ,is anyone else getting slow speeds the last 2 weeks with ss on ,my speed with ss on was 120mbs out of 150mbs on ver 3.11.0 but updated version 3.12.1 is totally throttled to 50mbs ,any comments or help be appreciated. I have to prove its not just me ,I'm an advanced user though my English is bad lol..I look like a beginner but I'm not.what makes a vpn just change speed after an update on playstore ? thanks in advance ☺️

Hi, I have two questions for you. I have the equipment as in the title.

I have the Shield plugged in with a good HDMI cable to the TV.

I have a Yamaha soundbar optically connected to the TV + I have CEC control with the remote from the Shield (it controls the shield, the volume on the soudbar and turning the TV on and off).

I have two problems that I can't solve (and I've searched the internet quite a bit)

1. problem with shuttering or something similar namely micro-cuts on the Shield. They occur on Netflix and Youtube (other apps I don't have) and once they are smaller and once they are larger.

I tried changing the refresh rate in the settings (as some recommended to have 60Hz, others 59 with some penny after the decimal point) and it's the same on both.

What's interesting is this

a) In the Stremio app everything works perfectly, nothing cuts out, but you can see that when you turn on something from this app it sort of adjusts the refresh rate and resolution (you can see it at the bottom of the screen because there is a message and sometimes it will select 23.976 and sometimes e.g. 25 etc.) and it's always great.

Fire TV Cube 3gen also does such a thing automatic (because there is such a function in the settings)

Also the fact that it works in stremio shows rather that it is not a hardware problem i.e. hdmi cable for example, but something with the software. Something doesn't get along with something but surprisingly in stremio it works perfectly fine.

Please tell me; what is the issue? how to solve it? I'm already thinking and thinking and searching on the net and nothing.

2. problem to this set of mine above for a few days (for testing, I borrowed from a friend) I plugged in Fire TV Cube 3gen, something seems to have messed up in the CEC(I think) because even though I have already unplugged the Cube from the power supply that is, as if it was not there this thing happens.

Shield + Soundbar + TV on.

I press the remote control (as I always did, before plugging in the Cube normally it worked) the off button.

It turns off Shield, Soundbar and TV.... after literally 3-5 seconds the Shield and soundbar continue to be off and the TV turns on by itself and displays no signal for HDMI1 source (that's where I have the Shield plugged in).

How to figure this out? How to “reset” it?

Because I understand that it is impossible to have a cube and Shield at the same time, because it will “interfere” yes ?

I need a way to play 4K content that is stored on the main PC to a amp and projector that is located in another room.

I currently use Kodi on an HTPC but this HTPC is too underpowered to play 4K content.

Do I just connect the Sheild to the amp with HDMI and then connect the main PC to the sheild with ethernet?

Thats it. I am returning this crap. Constant freezing. I just started it. The image is frozen. I long press the power button so it shuts off but now it won't turn on. Not the first time it dows this. I have had a dozen issues with it before. I already tried resetting it. Reapplied the thermal paste. Put the cooling mode on loud and no.. It's not freezing because i opened it. I opened it because it was just as crap before. It's a 2019 pro version

Just today I was "forced" to update the Nvidia software to the new app, and now I can't play through the Shield anymore. I can't find any option for the Shield or Gamestream in the new app; do you know how I can reconfigure the PC app to be able to play on the Shield?

I have the Shield TV Pro, Model P2897, Version 11, running SHIELD Android TV 9.1.1(33.2.0.157). My Plex Media Server has been working on this device until today. I have rebooted the Shield several times, but when I try to access my media that is stored on the Plex Server, it won't connect. I have gone to the settings under the Plex app running on the Shield TV and there is a Plex Media Server section; however, there are no settings under this section. I cannot start or stop the server, like I have in the past. The Plex App is 10.24.1.2319 (d613f885)

Hi. I recently reflashed the stock OS on my Shield tablet but it can't connect to my home wifi. Worked fine with previous router. However it can connect to my Redmi Note 10 pro hotspot *only* if i choose the 2.4 Ghz band. My router has both bands available. Don't know whats wrong, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks you.

I have a shield tube which has worked fine for going two years all I do is stream my iptv. Lately I have to unplug it numerous times for it to start working. If I turn my tv off and turn it back on without waiting too long it’s fine it’s when I leave it off for an extended time. Has anyone had this issue with their shield

I have the Asurion plan and they’re going to give me a full refund minus the tax I paid I will be buying another shield but in the meantime I need to get something to use while I send my tube back and get the refund. My question is does the Onn 4K pro do decent upscaling if any. Once I get my new shield I’ll move the Onn pro to another room

Is there a way to use the old 2015 controller with the new Nvidia App? Since the update from GeForce Experience to Nvidia App it won't detect as an Controller anymore.

Hi, i have the nvidiatv shield pro and had never issues but now youtube app always streams at 720p , when i change it to the highest and exit that video when going back to it does now keep my last selection of quality. I have maximum quality set in settings. Help appreciated.

After the tablet recall back in the day of the original NVIDIA SHIELD Tablets I kept the bricked tablet which was deactivated once I got the new unit. I thought I will one day come back to it and bring it to life...today when we were going through old stuff I found it in one of the boxes, plugged it in and it just started working...Its now updated and kinda fast to be honest :-D

I am considering connecting an external USB HDD as removable storage to my shield pro (2019).

1. Is there a size limitation? I am considering an 18TB drive.
2. Does it matter if the NTFS hdd partition format is mbr or gpt?
3. Are there any known issues with the Sabrent EC-KSL3 enclosure?

Is there anyway to connect my nv idea shield to my oddesy G7 I already have my Xbox connected to the hdmi slot and there is only 2 “display ports” on my monitor left does nvidea shield support that?

So after my laptop died and having used geforce now on ultimate tier with success I'm thinking of buying a shield tv pro for use on my 2017 4k 60hz samsung TV.

Am I right it saying my fps will be no higher than my TV refresh rate of 60hz =60 fps?

Will it still look and play great? Used ultimate on a laptop with 144hz screen and looked fantastic but I'm curios if I will be disappointed in comparison to using on my home 60hz TV?

Now I'm having a lot of trouble connecting to the store or performing any updates. I would like to turn the Shield into an emulation machine and a small media center with KODI. Selling my handheld consoles and wanting to buy one for general emulation for like DS, GBA, etc. as well as, the games you can naturally play from steam and other places. My question is: can it run Dark Souls 1 ? Like I’d assume it’d be the steam version. Maybe even Borderlands 1 or 2 ? Those sort of games. If not, does anyone know of a list somewhere that shows what this thing can do ? My friend in middle school had one of these and it looked cool as hell. I’m tired of buying consoles to play games when I can just buy the game and emulate them. Thanks in advance for advice!

my battery has gotten swollen so I need to know what size is the battery on the tablet k1. Anyone can help me find the right size for it? Do you guys have any guide on how to replace the battery? I checked iFixit and YouTube but they both do things differently like in iFixit they removed the side while on the YouTube they removed the one on the battery itself?

I tried to clone the hard drive of my Nvidia Shield Pro 2015 in raw mode, but the process is halted due to errors on the source. In fact, the device had started to slow down significantly, and I realized that the issue was actually the damaged hard drive.

I would like to replace it with a 1TB SSD, but I can’t enter Fast Boot Mode, probably because the dedicated partition is missing since I removed the original HDD.

My question is: is there a way to flash the firmware image directly from a Windows PC without involving the Shield TV?

Is cyberpunk supporting HDR on Nvidia shield pro G force now

So, i flashed the last oficial firmware, copied a few games like portal and half Life 2, everything was working just fine. After 2 days o boot up the shield to discover that all the game data folders inside OBB folder are gone but the storage still shows as full... After a factory reset the storage keeps saying its full and the only way to clear everything is to erase all data from trwp and flash everything again.

Its driving me crazy, any idea how to fix it? I belive the folders are getting blocked or something..

So my shield had boot up luckily yesterday but i cannot proceed with logging in of my google account. With this i cannot download any app since google needs an account before i can procced with the installation. May i know if this was an issue or how can i download some apps on my shield this 2024.
