Here are the rules:
1. DO NOT post Let's Play videos or "Fan" Videos/Trailers. They WILL be removed without warning. (Please post them in /r/HorrorGameVideos)
2. Self Promotion is allowed if you work in the industry and want to show a preview of a game, promote a kickstarter, or ask for feedback. (However, please contact the mods first for permission and wait for approval. We do not want to be a dumping ground for incomplete indie projects.)
3. Don't be a dick.
4. Keep the discussion on survival and psychological horror games/series.
Survival Horror means games like Resident Evil (excluding 5 & 6), Fatal Frame, Amnesia, Lone Survivor, etc. Games that, de-emphasize combat, limit resources, have a dread-filled atmosphere, etc.
Psychological Horror games apply to things like Yume Nikki and Silent Hill. Games that have a dreadful atmosphere and wear down on your mind with subtle imagey and sound design, instead of constant in-your-face horror and scares.
Action horror applies to games like Resident Evil 5 & 6, Fear, Doom 3, Left 4 Dead, etc.
Please post about those that fall under Survival and Psychological Horror. If you aren't sure if it qualifies, shoot us a message.

The demo dropped for this today and I was wondering if anyone was planning no to stream it. Looks really interesting and I’ve been following development for a couple years. Looks like Silent Hill meets Kingsfield.

https://vanish-falls-overture.itch.io/vanish-falls-episode-i-evil-ways
This time you get inside the Special Agent Joe Dracke skin and investigate the missing of your best friend and colleague Robert Swan.
It's October 31st, Devil's night. You're neck-deep in a terrible missing people case and you sense a terrible invisible evil creep up in the shadows and growing ever larger. Don't know what it is, but you can feel it.
Now Robert has vanished for helping you and must find out what dangerous shit he got himself into.
Who is trustworthy? Think you're alone in this fight, but very soon you gonna find out that's not the real truth...
I might post a review after I've played it.
Lamentum is a fairly easy survival horror game with some great designs and pixel art. It has limited saves and the puzzles are more like Resident Evils. Item or very simple puzzles. I did 2 runs to get 100% of the trophies and that took me about 12 hours.
Hi again, how are you? I have mentioned most of the game franchises in other posts, but I want to ask you if you think that Corpse Party, Galerians, Dino Crisis, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Resistance, System Shock and Painkiller games are totally worth playing them or not? Please explain why.
P.D. This one would be my last post here in this group/forum/community if you ask why. The reason is that one of the moderators (though I did not know he was one until later) wanted to limit posts my quantity for the day and the mention of old topics but even whether he asked it in a good way or not if it is not in the rules. With all the respect the moderators deserve why one has to do it like that if it is not in the rules? If you want others doing it like that please add it as new rules or at least give good reasons for why doing it like that so that way one could understand and agree, maybe I have not answered to him in the best way possible, but it is that it angers to most that when they are having fun or trying to enjoy this group/forum/community one comes with something like the mentioned before no offense intended but because if it is not in the rules why limiting posts quantity for days or old or current post topics and more those are part of the topic of the forum sorry for asking recommendations of games of the Survival Horror subgenre in a post that I had to eliminate.
Any games like silent hill or resident evil that come to mind? After playing the SH 2 Remake, I'm itching to play more games with a similar feel. It could be more classic survival horror or more action oriented. I just love the inventory management and difficulty along with the vibes of course.
Hi survival horror community, I've been working on a vibrant topdown pixel art survival horror adventure with expressive movement (I know I know, slow and clunky movement is the norm for these games but I'd like to take this risk of allowing the player to express juicy movement [wip]). Unfortunately enemy NPCs are still in development so not showcasing that here. But if it helps, the core loop is: explore, stealth, evade (run away from witch/ghost), puzzle solve, mini game.
like, i know i can't buy it anywhere but i'm not finding any site where i can download it
All throughout the month of October I'm only playing survival horror/ spooky themed games. I started out with Alien Isolation (first time playing and holy cow did I enjoy it), then transitioned to The Quarry. After finishing those two, I started Silent Hill 2 Remake. I'm currently almost through Brookfield Hospital and, to be frank, the game scares the shit out of me. Haha. My next game to beat this month is Alan Wake 2. My question: Is Alan Wake 2 as horrifying as SH2R? If so, I'm not sure I'll finish it during October.
