Leader André Breton was explicit in his assertion that Surrealism was above all a revolutionary movement.
Surrealism developed out of the Dada activities during World War I and the most important center of the movement was Paris. From the 1920s onward, the movement spread around the globe, eventually affecting the visual arts, literature, film, and music of many countries and languages, as well as political thought and practice, philosophy, and social theory.

[As I Drift]
Last night, I took an anxiolytic (Alprazolam). As the iPad was lying down beside me, I drew.
I had no care about the details nor did I put effort in deciding what color to use and where to place it. Taps and strokes, no pressure exerted. The pen glided on the screen; I stopped it and made it move because I felt like it.
My eyes blurred and my hands weakened as I drifted and finally succumbed to slumber.
