With the dungeness crab season opening, I saw that there was a warning from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife about high domoic acid levels in the crab's internal organs and to not eat their internal organs. Does this mean we should skip on going crabbing until further notice?
Can anybody recommend a bar or restaurant that would have it on TV?
Recent bought a home in RP and would like to replace the carpet prior to move in. Any recommendations regarding local stores in the area? Likely will need installation as well.
I am an adult looking for intermediate classes or workshops relating to things like figure drawing, concept art, digital art, or graphic design (printmaking and art business would be good too) I'm not very savvy with events or schools so I'm not sure where to find an instructed class for experienced artists looking to refine their fundamentals but not get any official certifications.
Does this local story about addiction help anyone? I hope it does but not sure if it will...

I usually take my kids to McDonald's mansion neighborhood for Halloween , but I will be alone with two young kids and it gets so hectic there . Not to mention the long lines just to trick or treat ... Is there any really good festive neighbors ?
Hey there! Does anyone know of bars or places that are streaming the election on the 5th? Preferably somewhere ✨liberal leaning✨ Thanks!
Hi I just moved to Sonoma this month, and my entire family is coming out for a week over Christmas holidays.
What are all your favorite Christmas and holiday themed things to do? Looking for ideas
Hello!
I've been in the bay area for 25 years, and have belonged to many wineries during this time. I cancelled all my memberships a few years ago because I wasn't able to visit them as often as I would have liked. I have been in Sonoma Co for almost 4 years now, and I'd like to branch out again and explore some new wine clubs. Previously, I have been a member at Wilson, Keller, Gundlach Bundschu, Dutcher Crossing, Cline, and St. Supery to name a few.
Ideally, I'd love to find some great cabs, French and Italian varietals, and drier whites. I've started looking around, but figured I'd try to find some recs here as well. TIA!
Hi everyone! My husband and I are planning to go to the Sonoma county area in November for our wedding anniversary and would love to get your thoughts on this itinerary, especially if it seems ridiculous lol. It was based on zero prior knowledge and limited research. The plan is to eat amazing food, drink wine and eat some more. I would also appreciate your restaurant suggestions. Right now, we have Spoonbar, Girl & Fig, Willis & Barndiva on the list but not set on any. We are staying at the Trio hotel in Healdsburg.
Day 1: Thursday
Arrive in SFO
Kunde Winery
Day 2: Friday
Jordan Estate
Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery
Day 3: Saturday
Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery
Coursey Graves Estate Winery
Day 4: Sunday
Castello di Amorosa
Domaine Carneros Winery
THANKS!
Edit: We are definitely getting a driver for Fri-Sun! Thanks for all the helpful tips - I will make some changes to the itinerary :)
Can you kayak in the estuary with your own kayaks and without a tour or guide? I can’t seem to find a clear answer online and if you can where is a could spot to launch from?
Does anyone have an extra 12 bottle shipper box with styrofoam or padded dividers you’re throwing away?
We have a bunch at home from wine club shipments but forgot to bring one this trip. Can pickup near Napa or Sonoma.
Let me start by saying that I love Sonoma County. My wife and I were there in September to celebrate our 20-year anniversary. It was one of the best, if not the best, vacations I have had. It is a beautiful place, with friendly people and fantastic wine. I cannot wait to go back.
I enjoyed several wines from Sonoma County and was interested in ordering a couple of bottles from multiple wineries. Rather than order from various wineries and pay multiple shipping charges, is it possible to order through a 3rd party company in Sonoma? A company that would get the wines I request from 2-3 wineries, purchase them, and ship them in a single shipment. Obviously there would be a cost but it would probably be offset by eliminating multiple shipping charges.
Any recommendations or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
I’m looking for recommendations for a good dentist (for adults) who also has an office staff who are kind and experienced with handling insurance issues and procedures. Thank you!
Hi guys,
My fiancé and I are marrying next September in a family member’s backyard in Sonoma. We got a pretty solid grip on all the planning for the big day, but really don’t want to worry about anything during the wedding and reception. That being said, I’m trying to look for a Day of Coordinator. Not a month of, or anything longer. Just the day of! I’ve found a few so far by looking on the Knot and other wedding websites and just by looking online, but they’re all crazy expensive! Like $2500! I know this is an expensive area in general, but I feel like for just a day of coordinator, it would be more like $1000. Anyway, if you know of someone who has reasonable prices for day of coordinating, drop a comment or link here! I would appreciate it so much!
Looking forward to visiting for the first time this week from Wed-Sun.
The weather forecast appears to have dropped, and I'm looking for guidance from locals on how best to dress.
Looks like temps will generally be low 60s to low 40s in evening, with a 60% chance of rain on Thursday, and scattered showers Friday and Saturday. In the Midwest, this is extremely wet - And similar temps this past weekend was frost-producing and long pants and coat worthy.....
What's this typically look/feel like out there? - Recommendations for what to bring or wear to stay warm/brave any elements based on plans (below)?
Also interested in any recommendations for exploring, shopping, or must-eat places for brunch/lunches, as well as any fun spots to stop for some of the non-wine drinkers in the group.
Current plans include:
Thurs: bus trip to various wineries/tastings
Fri: outdoor/indoor rehearsal dinner
Sat: outdoor/indoor wedding
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!
Hello, I am a film student at Sonoma State currently doing location scouting for a short film I'm doing. We're looking to film a scene inside of a convenience store/gas station, and I wanted to reach out to see if anyone knows of any convenience stores in particular whose owners might be open to letting us use their space for filming? I know it's a long shot but I'm trying anything I can in order to narrow down our list so we don't have to go asking every gas station in the county one by one.
Thanks so much

Any chefs out there have recommendations on a professional knife sharpener to give my carbon steel Japanese chef knives a good rejuvenation?
Anyone who has a job at Sonoma County can you share your experience getting hired
I currently work in the private sector and am trying to make the jump into public. In the last week or two I have applied to 4 jobs in the county that I am qualified for.
Most of the positions application acceptance period ended yesterday or are ending shortly.
I’m curious if there are any tips/ tricks for applying to jobs in the future.
I am also curious what the process is like. How long is it before I am notified if I am rejected or move on? Do they notify of rejection?
How many people had to apply to multiple positions/ for how long to finally get a job with the county?
Since I have no experience with this and don’t know anyone who currently works at the county I can’t help but feel like i’m doing something wrong.
