Petaluma is a city in Sonoma County, part of the North Bay sub-region of the San Francisco Bay Area, located 37 miles north of San Francisco. Its population was 60,520 according to the 2020 Census. It has a well-preserved, historic city center which includes many buildings that survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Historical buildings include the Washoe House, built in 1859, and the Petaluma Creamery, established in 1903, which marked Petaluma as an agricultural center for eggs and dairy.

Hi. I would like to take my 18-year-old to get a pro trim for her long hair. We have only cut our own hair in my family, and we are good at short and medium cuts, but I know there are different techniques for long hair and dealing with split ends, thus the professional cut idea.
Also, she enjoys dyeing and/or bleaching her own hair (crazy colors) and right now, it's half grown out and she likes it that way, so looking for a place that isn't going to give her an earful about how she should get highlights, be pretty, or whatever. She does want advice about the cut. She hasn't had long hair for ages.
And an affordable place. I was looking at groupons but they are all for Santa Rosa and none of the salons really seemed worth the drive.
Partner and I are going to be visiting this week. We’d like to get the locals opinion on what we should see and do.
We plan to go to Muir Woods and Helen Putman on the first day.
But what should we do once we’re in town?
We went to the cypress tree tunnel last time and got some great pizza out in the area. We like scenic drives, points of interest type stops, and redwoods.
Thanks in advance.

I'm new to Petaluma and I'd like some recommendations for a very good, gentle dentist (I've had experiences with not so gentle dentists).
Looking for recommendations on what to do, where to meet folks I’m 23 yr old Male, new college graduate
I often drive to Santa Rosa or Corte Madera to get me some decent boba from Teaspoon since Petaluma area is lacking in boba drinks that have quality. Quickly ain't it.
So, earlier today, when I drove past Bonchon, I was very delighted to see a sign.....the Teaspoon sign! There's one coming to the area. Hip hip hooray!
Now, this is great news for me but not so great news for my bank account. 😂
Does anyone know when it is scheduled to open?
What is the obsession with everybody walking in the street in this town? Use the sidewalk and get off of the road 🤷♂️
Hi r/Petaluma
I'll be getting married locally here in Petaluma, and would love recommendations on local wedding-related vendors! If you can share how much you paid (or an estimate) of their services and your experience with them, that would be greatly appreciated! :)
Unfortunately, I need to find a safe, clean, & caring facility for my elderly mom with Alzheimer’s.
Anyone have experience with facilities in Petaluma and/or Sonoma County?
Thank you in advance for any insight.
Anyone know why the smart train lights are flashing but no train is driving by? Was stuck in that traffic for about 10 minutes before I was able to make a U turn

My daughter is having trouble deciding between PJH and Kenilworth. They both seem very similar to me, except Kenilworth is twice the size in student population.
Would love to hear what people think of both schools?
Anyone know any photographers that could take anniversary photos for my girlfriend and I? (WLW - queer friendly) Thank you!
I am not from the area but getting married in San Rafael then going to our reception in Petaluma. Are there any picturesque spots or sites where we could take photos. We are starting photos at st. Vincent’s / most holy rosary chapel because we are getting married there. Are there any cool gardens or pretty restaurants with Victorian style ?
Has anyone taken their adult beginner classes? What is the environment and teaching like?

Hey folks,
I was reading this recap of the Sebastopol City Council meeting on 11/19/24, and one of the things mentioned was building permit fees.
For a 1700 sq ft. house in Sebastopol, the new proposed fees would be $14,616 for building permit fees and $33,000 for the impact fees (sewer connections, water connections, park fees, a small fire fee).
Does anyone know where I might get this data for Petaluma? I'm frustrated by the lack of new housing in Sebastopol and it would be nice to have the numbers for a place where it seems to be working. Even the article lists Petaluma as a "high-construction city".
Thank you.
I am interested in any places nearby (including the rest of Sonoma county) where i could buy bread flour for cheap or in bulk?
