La masia

Whatever is happening at La Masia needs to be studied because it's incredible how they keep producing such talented players at such a young age. Not only is the quality impressive, but the sheer quantity of talent coming from there is remarkable. Take players like Lamine Yamal, who has been phenomenal over the past few seasons. He just turned 17, yet he plays with the skill and maturity of someone in their prime, like a 27 year old. And then there’s Cubarsi, who’s been one of the best center-backs this season at only 17. He’s holding his ground against top players like Mbappe, Vinícius Jr., and Rodrygo, all playing at peak levels, and he's keeping up with them! It's unreal. What are your thoughts on La Masia?

Great forum for Roos supporters

It’s quite active and looks great. Most of the users use to post on inside sport.

Replay of Japan match

Does anyone know when the Replay for last night's match vs Japan will be available on Paramount Plus?

It's already 1pm the following day. Seems a bit rubbish for a paid service. But, I think this has happened to me before with a Matildas match.

Unfortunately I've already been spoilered as my phone popped up a random notification with the score. :-(

Will Socceroos change management after qualifying?

This is the only way I can make sense of the current appointments post Graham Arsnold. No one could possibly think that the current lot are a good pick for results.

But since Graham left suddenly, it would be hard to get someone really good.

So perhaps the plan is to just let the old boys qualify us (since qualification is so easy now) and take the time to find someone top class before the World Cup?

Does this sound likely, or am I just coping?

Graham Arnold resigns as Socceroos manager

Football Australia has officially announced the resignation of Graham Arnold. This comes after the Socceroos poor performances in their opening two games of third round World Cup qualifying. Honestly I feel bad for the lad, he’s done so much for the Socceroos, but it’s for the best. Now, the question is who’ll be the Socceroos next manager? And how much of an impact will he have on the team?

Japan vs Australia. I wonder what the betting odds will be...

Japan scored 12 goals!!! in 2 matches, Australia scored a big fat ZERO. (Well they did score one, to the wrong net...). Japan will play at home in front of full capacity crowd. Let's face it, it would be less embarrassing to have a non show and get a technical loss of 3-0...

What’s up with the Socceroos? And how isn’t Graham Arnold sacked yet?

The Socceroos have had their worst performances ever in a long time, losing 0-1 to Bahrain and 0-0 to Indonesia. We sit 5th on the WC qualifiers table and things are begging to look bad for us.

In these matches, there were a variety of problems that personally I think resulted in the loss and draw:

1: the Socceroos aren’t getting enough game time with each other to build up chemistry, the line up is always changing and there have been no friendlies in preparation for this qualifying round 2: A 4.2.3.1 and 4.1.4.1 lineup is too complex for the Socceroos, we don’t have a proper understanding of how to use this style of football, there were way to many complex passes being made that went straight to the opponent’s, a 4.4.2 works much better for the Socceroos. It is a much more basic style of football has produced much better results out of our team. 3: major improvements in our defence is needed, every match I constantly see obvious mistakes in our defence that costs us/nearly costs us a goal. 4: We need to be switched on all game, there were so many times when I saw players switch off and make stupid mistakes. We conceded the goal to Bahrain because half of the team was so focused on the player on the ground. 5: We have no intensity, we aren’t playing forward at every opportunity, we try to keep too much possession, and we weren’t creating enough enough opportunities, and we can’t put the ball into the back of the bloody net. 6: We make too many early-ish substitutions, sending on less experienced players before get an opportunity to score, I understand that it was to put fresh legs onto the field, but we should’ve kept our top attackers such as Irankunda, and Duke, on until at least the 70th minute.

I speak for all of Australia when I say this, WE CAN DO BETTER! We have the players, and we have the talent, now it’s a matter of how we can use this to our advantage. If we can nearly beat a World Cup winner in the RO16 of the World Cup, than we can most certainly beat these low ranked Asian countries. Graham Arnold is a great coach, but if he can’t make changes that will positively impact the Socceroos, than I think it’s about time he gets sacked, I know it’s not entirely his fault, but I know more can be produced out of him and this team. If we continue to play like we did against Bahrain, then there will be absolutely no chance that we qualify for the World Cup. I want to see major changes and improvements made so we can produce a result and ensure a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

Paramount plus what?

What a joke, just joined up again to this terrible service to watch the Socceroos matches. Got up early to watch the replay 7.5 hours after it had been aired and all they have got is highlights and mini matches. You’d think they would put the full match replay up first before they compiled the highlights You can’t say you can watch on demand when you clearly can’t, every other platform can make replays watchable instantly, lift your game paramount, terrible business 😡

Rough watch

Really sloppy and disappointing game to watch. The team really lacks quality in the mid field. It felt like every pass tonight was off the mark. I would like to see Luongo in there against teams that are going to sit back like Bahrain did tonight. He's probably to slow to play against Japan or the Saudis. Unlucky to concede that way but that's what happens when you don't put teams away. Yengi and Duke both had chances they couldn't put away... just a rough game to watch tonight

Great news!!!!

So this was just announced, just over 50 of our men's amd women national team games will be broadcast on free to air, its only around $90 if you want access to them all. We keep saying it here amd we've been saying it for ages, if there's one thing that helps a sport grow, it's going out of your way to keep it away from the public, just look at the ever rising A-League attendances. From their decision to give gold Coast a team to moving the grand final to Sydney then quickly changing their mind Football fans in Australia have and will always have loved the people in charge....
