SKATE UBUNTU aims to be a non-profit community project with the final goal of building a skate park in the city of Grahamstown, in order to bridge the social divides across communities. This project will hopefully catalyse the creation of an uplifting, meaningful space and movement for young people to be a part of.

Longboarding Competition

I'd really like to have a longboarding event/ competition hosted here in Grahamstown. To get a few people involved, and organise for a nice road on a hill to be blocked off for a few hours, that's what I'm aiming for. Anyone want to get involved or have ideas on how to make this a reality?

Redditors, what're your suggestions & tips on how to build a community project

Skate Ubuntu is a non-profit community project with the final goal of building a skate park in the city of Grahamstown (Eastern Cape, South Africa). To do so, we need to do a lot more fundraising, and need to build awareness of our project. We have started setting up a crowd funding page on Thundafund, and have some private sponsors interested. We're also busy building our site.

TL:DR; How can we do better as a non-profit community project?
