Hello - I will be flying into DSS Saturday night 11/16 from CDG. My flight arrives at 21h. So the time I clear customs and get my bags it will be past 22hrs. I have a flight the next morning leaving DSS at 8h.
I planned on staying at the Radisson but they are fully booked. Can you recommend a convenient hotel, preferable with hotel shuttle pickup/drop-off.
Thanks!
Guys are these folks Senegalese?

Hey guys! I just tried this senegalese candy and was wondering who’s on it?
Like.. what fruits and grains and animals does everyone eat? I’m talking about native staple foods, but feel free to list popular new world staples that are common.
I am doing a quick survey to understand grocery shopping experience and would like to understand the current landscape. It will be of great help for my project and thesis
How frequently per week do you buy groceries?
Do you prefer visiting a supermarket or superette?
Given an option to save time, save money, & limited variety which one of these would you compromise? (You can only pick one)
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being hectic, 10 being comfortable), How hectic it is to commute to the store and buy the items?
Do you get all the items you require in one grocery store or would you need to hop to multiple stores?
On average how much time do you spend for commuting, time spent in the store for grocery shopping?
Do you like to stock up items if you get a discounted price in bulk?
What is your average earning per month in USD & how many members live in your household?
Thank you so much if you could help me with this survey
Hello! I will be coming to Dakar for a relatives wedding in the next few weeks for the first time, we are Nigerians. I am trying to buy some party souvenirs/ party favors shipped from China but the shipping prices are so expensive. Anyone knows where we can get these locally in Dakar? Also any suggestions for Nigerian caterers and make up artists? Thank you so much!

Where can I get some good Senegalese food in America? I am really wanting some but I am tired of going to Memphis, I hate Atlanta, and never want to step a foot in New York. Are there any other cities that I can get some good Senegalese food preferably in the south.
Hello all,
To keep it short: I (F24) am fluent in both French and English (and Italian), my Wolof is decent (kinda) but needs more work.
I mostly understand when people are talking. Growing up, for different dynamics, I wasn’t really taught the language, tho I still appreciate the fact that I went to Senegal in different occasions and that I can have basic communication with my family (grandparents, aunties etc) but I would like to gain more confidence and fluency while speaking. I have a decent base in reading/writing too.
Anyone willing to learn and practice together/ help me?
Thank you!!
I’m American with a Senegalese man and we are talking about marriage. What do I need to know about Senegalese culture?
Hello Everyone!
I need help with information for a gift for my partner. To give you some info, I am 22f, and my partner is 22m. He is from the Wolof ethnic group and his families from Dakar, Senegal. He only has a few gifts from his late father from Senegal.
One of his most treasured items is a long sleeved shirt that has "tak tak vibrations" written on the back and tribal images of men playing either sabars or tamas (?). It's a lighter pink color but it may have started dark pink or red. It has a sewing tag on the outside of the neck hole that has faded so I am unable to see what company his shirt came from.
Since this is a treasured but older item. it is slowly starting to develop holes and fray and I'm hoping someone might recognize the description and be able to let me know what company or location I can order a new or similar shirt from.
If this is impossible, he also loves folk stories and music from Senegal and I would love recommendations to look into. He also is interested in learning Wolof, so I would love to find some books on Wolof grammar or stories to read.
Thank you!
Hey guys! I’m a Romanian tourist. Backpacking around the world on a budget. In two weeks I’ll land in Dakkar. Could you help me with some questions :
Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well! I’m a 32-year-old Senegalese, visiting Rochester, Minnesota, from December 20th for about 10 days. Are there any Senegalese people in the area who could share some tips on local life, help me connect with the community, and maybe recommend places to enjoy a good plate of thiéboudienne? Thanks in advance!
Hi Everyone! Heading to Dakar/Saly this month and hoping you lovely souls can provide suggestions of great ride share apps, your favorite restaurants and resorts and nightclubs to dance and turn up. I’m long overdue bc Jan. 2021 still had nightly curfews :(
I’ve always done the touristy Goree/Nngor Islands, the infamous statue, etc. But my mom is i her 60s and I can’t count on her to stay awake past 7pm 😅😅
Looking for lively places that a young single girl can go and enjoy herself. Also, if you’ll be there, let’s connect and try to do a meet up.
Hi Guys! Hope you’re all well - I’m heading to Saly and Dakar in a few weeks and looking for some dope hang outs in the city. The last time I went in Jan. 2021, covid curfews were horrible but i went right before then and liked places like Gainde and Barramundi to groove to the tunes. Anyone have suggestions for a single girl?
Hey everyone! 27F Senegalese here, working in tech and living in France.
Just out of curiosity where do you all usually meet other Senegalese who are into deeper conversations or who share a similar vibe? Most people in my circle aren’t Senegalese, so I’m curious how others find like-minded folks, especially introverts or open-minded people, outside of close circles. Do you have any favorite spots, events, or ways of connecting?
Hey everyone I’ve been really interested in opening up a small coffee shop in Dakar but having not lived here long, I wanted to understand the complexities and what young people are interested in + average cost of running a business of that scale.
I need to sell PayPal or usdt worth 100k Any help or buyer will be appreciated thanks
So at around 12:30 pm a lot of posts started coming up on whatsap and other sociale media in Senegal announcing the death of our former president Me Abdoulaye Wade. It quickly gained traction and was shared a lot on whatsap and X mainly. This is not the first time this happens, in 2020 RFI announced his death. We do not have a statement from him yet but most sources say that this is fake news again. But its fun to watch all the memes about this fake news. Senegalese people will turn anything into a joke. What do yall think about this situation? Just wanted to share and hopefully Me Wade stays with us a few more years.
Salaam Maalekum!
I'm hoping to start brewing my own kombucha again, and I was wondering if there is anyone in Dakar, Thies or Saint Louis who is willing to sell me a piece of theirs. Will pay and will come pick it up. Jërëjëf !!
I flew Air Senegal from Dakar to JFK. My flight was cancelled, delayed by 4 hours, then one of my bags was not delivered to my destination! This happened on September 9th, so it's been almost 2 months! Customer service is not helpful at all. It seems like they are dragging the case until I have to give up. The agents even hang up on me while I'm on the phone. I've been very reasonable and patient in waiting for my bag. The thing is that my bag contains valuable items that include 5 custom made coats that I designed and had tailored by a professional.
What can I do?
I am looking for wholesale independent(outside of sedima and other giants) animal farmers, particularly chicken and pork, also open to other animals such as goats and cows etc. Please point me to the right direction.
