Post title requirements can be found here.. You can select your post flair from the “Add flair” button when submitting a post.

6. No common posts or recent reposts

Posts that are commonly/were recently posted to the subreddit will be removed at the discretion of the moderation team. Please search before posting and if you find a similar recent post, comment and upvote there for better visibility. [Android] [2023.49.1] Can't post in the community, error "Uh oh something went wrong but we're not sure what. Try that again". Is it just happening to me?

I wrote a long post and wanted to post it in one of the community, got the error(written in the title). I didn't update my app because of the yesterday's crash fiasco, then I updated the app thinking it would solve my current problem, got the same error. Anybody else having the same problem? It's annoying cause the post is very long and there is no save draft button on the app. I finally used the web version to post it. I have oneplus 7 pro with android v9.

[ios][2023.48.0]I think the button area to remove searches subreddits should be larger

The amount of times I’ve been taken to the subreddit when trying to clear my search history instead of removing it is more than a few times. Who even uses the area (e.g. the bottom right corner near the button) around the circle to access the subreddit anyway?

[android] [2023.49.1.1322281] Unable to upload photo

Whenever I try to upload a photo to any subreddit it tells me "Unable to upload photo".

I've tried reinstalling the app, double checking photo permissions, checking file type and file size, uploading a photo taken from my phone, uploading a photo downloaded from the internet, uploading a screenshot from my phone, etc.

I have tested this on both SFW and NSFW subreddits.

It's not a karma/account age issue, as I've seen what happens to my posts when that's the case. This just doesn't go through at all.

SOS!

[iPadOS] [2023.48.0] landscape orientation on main screen

Prior to this iPadOS update, while in landscape orientation, the width of posts on the main screen were almost too narrow (i.e. large margins on left and right). Now, with today's update (2023.48.0.614307), there are no margins at all. Posts, including photos, now stretch all the way from the left of my iPad to the right. Then when you select a post to view replies, the view switches back to the narrow UI. At this point, I'd prefer the narrow view on the main screen like it was previously versus the way it is now, or at least give us a small 1-2" (versus nonexistent) margin. Hopefully this makes sense. Anyone else?

[android] [2023.49.1] app unusable

app basically doesnt even work at this point and its because of the reddit mods thinking this was a banger update.. why make such stupid updates? the updates don't do anything but make the app unusable.. all these people complaining and you can't even get rid of the horrible update. What tf is even the update? the disgusting new logo? other one was better. obviously they can't take the criticism either or they wouldn't ban those words. so pathetic.

[android][2023.49.0] Bruh

God forbid y'all (developers) actually do something useful. The constant braindead decision making is atrocious, and the fact that y'all got mad enough to force other (much more competent than you room temperature IQ failures) app developers to shut down their superior apps goes to show exactly the kind of people you really are.

[ios][2023.48.0]Unable to change font in app for many versions now.

The large text bug that was previously reported is still present in this version. The workaround about setting it in System Settings does not work for setting the smallest font. Please acknowledge the bug and fix it. Or at the very least restore the ability in app.

This was previously reported here: https://reddit.com/r/redditmobile/comments/17ar8tu/ios_2023390_when_will_the_text_bug_be_fixed/ https://reddit.com/r/redditmobile/comments/17eaqmm/ios_2023410_the_large_text_is_so_annoying/

[iPadOS] [2023.47.1] Share option not working on comments

Since the recent iOS update, nothing happens anymore when attempting to share a comment using the “share” option from the pop-up three-dot “hamburger” menu. There is no “copy link” or “link copied” message, and the link doesn’t copy.

I’m using iPadOS 17.1.2 with Reddit 2023.47.1.614298

[android][2023.49.1] Tapping on images does nothing

As the title says, on main page nothing happens when I tap on any image, no matter if SFW, NSFW or part of a group of pictures.

I have to reach every single post to view each image.

Up to 3 days ago, I could only see single pictures. If there was a group of pictures, I had to open the post in order to see them.

Yesterday, such problem no longer existed, so I could (finally!) see all pictures without problems.

Today things went totally south. Please answer.

[android] [2023.49.0.1321715] The long press area for posts with single-line titles is a bit small to accurately hit.

It would help if the report area also worked for opening the long press menu.

[iOS][2023.48.0.614307] Emoji Causes Rendering Issue with Bold Text and Paragraph Spacing in Reddit iOS App

Description:
Two distinct rendering issues are observed in the Reddit mobile app on iOS.

The first issue involves the incorrect rendering of bold text when a line begins with an emoji; the last character of the bold text is unbolded. For instance, "[emoji] welcome" is displayed as "[emoji] welcome". This occurs in both fancy pants and markdown editors, and affects posts and comments. The issue persists regardless of whether the content is authored on desktop or mobile, with incorrect rendering on mobile but correct rendering on desktop.

The second issue concerns paragraph spacing and character truncation when a line starts with an emoji followed immediately by text without a space. Subsequent paragraphs have compressed spacing, and the first character of each new paragraph is truncated.

See these screenshots of mobile and desktop for additional clarification.

Device model:
iPhone 14 Pro

OS version:
iOS 17.1.2

App Version:
2023.48.0.614307

Steps to reproduce issue 1:

  1. Create a new post or comment on desktop or mobile.
  2. Start a line with an emoji followed by bold text.
  3. Observe that the last character of the bold text is unbolded.

Steps to reproduce issue 2:

  1. Create a new post or comment on desktop or mobile.
  2. Start a line with an emoji immediately followed by bold text (no space).
  3. Add several paragraphs of text following this line.
  4. Observe the compressed paragraph spacing and truncation of the first character in each new paragraph.

Expected and actual result:
Expected: The entire bold text remains bolded, and standard paragraph spacing is maintained with no character truncation, regardless of the number of spaces between the emoji and the following character.

Actual: The last character in the bolded text is unbolded, paragraph spacing is compressed after emoji-text combinations, and the first character of each new paragraph is truncated.

Edit: added that issue 2 requires bold text as well. The issue does not occur with unbolded text per u/Sephardson's additional testing below

[iOS] [2023.48.0.614307] Midnight (AMOLED) theme and unreadable text posts

Re-re-reporting this bug.

Once again I’ll ask the question I didn’t get answered last time:

#What is the intake and prioritization process for these bug reports? As of yet (multiple months and three reports), no one has acknowledged this issue.

It’s a style bug. This is very likely an afternoon of work, at most.

[iOS] [2023.47.1] Why does flipping orientation between landscape and portrait lose my place? Also, why does switching between apps change my feed from home to latest? Also, why can't I sort by hot?

Flipping my iPad from landscape to portrait resets my scrolling space.

Swiping between apps means Reddit mobile goes from home feed to latest.

Can't sort posts by hot.

[iOS] [2023.47.1.614298] Previously hidden chats are not reappearing/repopulating as they should when I receive a new chat message. I sometimes get a notification but no pop up to indicate who messages me, other times it’s stealth!

By stealth I mean I literally have no idea a person messages me until I open up an old chat thread to see something was sent weeks ago from that person but no notification… frustrating.

I have no idea how to reproduce this bug but it randomly happens from time to time.

Can this please be investigated? Screenshot of bug on my profile. Thank you.
