A place for valuation of more unique pokemon card items and larger collections.

So many posts on the other card subreddits asking for prices, thought there should be somewhere specific for people to ask. This is not a subreddit for buying/selling or trading.

If you are looking for fair real values, not what a Gem Mint graded version of what your card goes for, then feel free to post. Realistic prices based on sold ebay listings, online card markets, and recent trends. Conditions should be determined from front and back photos but are based on tcgplayer.com subjectivity (Damaged, Heavily played, Moderately played, Lightly played, Near mint, Mint).

Rule#0: Read intro post

Rule#1 Be civil. No need to get upset because the cards you thought were worth hundreds turned out to be fake. Vice versa, if someone is looking for an honest price of a washed base charmander sticker, no need to put them down about how dumb they are for not knowing everything.

Rule#2 No buying/selling/trading posts/comments This is for finding sellable value, not for selling itself. Insta-ban even for comments asking to message privately or offering to buy.

Rule#3 Values must be demonstrable Back up your claims using real sold values/listings. If you are misleading the values with no back up you may be banned with no recourse. This includes valuations based on what you'd pay.

Rule#4 Must be your own collection Not the place to confirm if what you bought was worth it or if you should bid on that auction.

Rule#5 Spamming for information Dont waste peoples time asking for appraisals if you already have the information, arent going to use the information at all, or if you want details about every card in your collection. There are plenty of resources to help you help yourself.

Rule #6 Serious posts/answers only There are plenty of subs to joke and meme or brag about what you have or think. The sub is here to help, not for karma. Value questions/discussion and reasoning/evidences are of course allowed.

Rule #7 TBD I'll make them when we need them.

Old collection - Value/keep?

I’ve recently found my old collection and have some decent cards. However I am well aware the conditions are not good. If I could have some advice on what to value these at or what’s best to do with them (even if it is keep as display!). I’m not desperate to sell but I would be curious if the Espeon especially, is worth anything. There is loads of bulk from these sets too.

What do we think?

Looking at taking this in on a trade, what do we think the value is at? Can’t find it on Collectr or TCG but I’m thinking 100-150 maybe

Have spent a little over $500 so far on this collection. How am I doing so far value wise?

Started a couple months ago as a side hobby, mostly roam around flea markets and collectible stores looking to find vintage raw (try my best to negotiate under market value if I can and be mindful of condition)

Not expecting massive profit but if I can at least retain what I spent I’ll be happy
