Hello guys,
I want your opinion on what phones should I buy between Samsung galaxy s24 and Google pixel 8.
The Samsung I can get for 585€ and the pixel for 485€ (both 8gb ram and 256gb storage). There is also the pixel 8 pro and s24+ (both 12gb ram and 256gb storage) which I can at the same more or less price of 650. My plan is to keep whichever I get as long as possible that's why those phones are the ones I'm considering, but also money is important to me as already feel that these prices are high for me (I was thinking of buying something at 400-430 max). So what is the best and why? And what's best value for money?
Hello everyone 👋
I would really appreciate your help in selecting between the following:
I'm the type of person who uses their phone for a long time. My last Samsung was a Galaxy S9 and I used it throughout all 5 years of Uni. ❤️
Besides that the most I do on my phone is
I don't play games on my phone but would like something that has a Good Battery Life, Takes clear pictures and won't Lag overtime.
The 24 FE is gonna get 7 years of Software Updates 😍. But it's the most expensive on the list 🫤
The S23 FE is what I'm currently thinking of buying but I've heard bad things about it's Battery life and possibly overheating. 😰
Honestly, I can save a good bit of money by buying the A55, but I don't want to buy it simply because it's cheaper. I'm not sure how we'll it's gonna hold up over time 😭. It does have the biggest battery tho 🔋
Right now I'm thinking of getting the S23 FE. Not exactly Flagship but not Budget either. I checked online and they say it's gonna be supported till October 2028.
What do you guys think? 🧐
Please let me know.
Hi, so we're looking for a phone for mom, the top priority is the software support. Then it should have a good battery, display and camera. The budget is upto 450$.
So do you have any recommendations in this range?
Also, as Google and Samsung say 7 years, will the phone really go for that long without any issues? I mean is that advantage of pixel and the S series really worth overlooking other phones?
We're hoping for pixel 8a and S24FE prices to drop during black friday or for the S24 when they'll launch the S25 series in January. I have read about the Exynos processors but since there would be no heavy usage it should be fine right?
My Pixel 2 finally died and I'm looking for my next phone. Looking for something reliable that will hopefully last me another 5 years. I don't need fancy features or a good camera. I don't play games or use tiktok either. Just need something that will be good for talk, text, maps, podcasts, music, YouTube, email, and light social media scrolling. Display doesn't need to be great just no lagging. As far as support and updates go... I don't really know how important that is. Under $500USD would be good but I can be flexible if it means better reliability and longevity. I don't mind buying used. Thank you for any suggestions!
I have no idea where to start when it comes to gaming processors so I'm asking for some advice. So far, my option is a Xiaomi Note 13 but maybe there are much better
Hi everyone, I’m considering buying the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. With the trade-in of my Galaxy S22, a student discount, and a coupon in-cart, I can get it for less than €700.
I’m wondering if it’s worth taking advantage of this offer now or waiting for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. I know the S25 might bring some improvements, but I’m not sure if it’ll justify spending more than what I could pay right now. As a very active social media user, I really value the cameras and overall performance.
Is anyone else in the same situation? What would you recommend I do?
Thanks for the advice!
Hi! So I’ve owned my Xiaomi Redmi 10 for 5 years now and it’s starting to disintegrate after 5 years of use. For the most part it’s been fine, I can make phone calls and watch YouTube and whatnot, and the battery is mostly great. But it doesn’t work anymore after last update. For context, I am an archaeology undergraduate, and I have to take a lot of pictures of artefacts, most of the time in ambient museum lighting, and I want a phone that won’t skew the detail or colours too much, which is to me as important (if not more) than the number of MP it has. Here are my criteria:
So TL;DR: battery life 7 to 8 hours and more, fast charging, USB-C port, good camera algorithm, NFC, long-lasting software, 375€ max. Does anything exist that might fit my needs?
I am treating myself to my first flagship.
I have settled on the S24 Plus.
I live in the UK, but will be importing a Snapdragon variant from Hong Kong.
My use case
Reasons for choosing S24 Plus
So, S24 Plus - stick or twist?
Thank you Reddit!
Hello, in my market, something is weird. Both of the mentioned phones are discounted by my career. After the discounts, Samsung S24 (256gb) would cost me 28,000 thb, Samsung s24 plus (256gb) would cost me 33,000 thb and the iPhone 15 pro (128gb) would cost me 32,800 thb. 1 usd is around 30 thb. Which do you think is the most ideal choice or screw the flagship prices and get a Samsung A55 which is 14,999 thb no strings attached or get the Nothing phone 2a(128gb) for 11,499 thb? I just need a phone to act as my wallet and video call with my family. In my heart, I want Nothing Phone 3 but my current device is too much of chore to interact with.
I am in the UK. I would love to buy an S24+ with the Snapdragon processor, not the Exynos processor which is on the main market here.
Do I have options besides US Amazon or Wondamobile?
Wondamobile is currently out of stock, does anyone know how soon their stock is likely to replenish?
Are there likely to be issues with band incompatibility?
Thank you!
I want to buy a new phone I am upgrading from moto g73 5g to compact flagship phone I have three options galaxy s23, galaxy s24(Exynos), and pixel 9 I am having problem deciding which, I like the design of pixel better but s24 offers more performence I don't do heavy gaming just 1 or 2 hour of BGMI, Price is not a concern but I want more value for money so it's really tough for me which one should I buy in the upcoming Flipkart big billion days
My M30s (specs) is now damaged enough that I think it's time to upgrade.
General use case
Things I have liked about the M30s
Things that could be better about the M30s
So that narrows down these requirements
My friend who likes phones is recommending the S24+. Unfortunately, this doesn't have a headphone jack, but is otherwise exactly the sort of thing I am looking for.
Any ideas?
Thank you Reddit!
Debating on which used phone to get:
the s23 and 13mini are $300
the 12 and pixel are $245
I don't play games or need fancy stuff - just care about the camera and video quality
My beloved and perfectly working Galaxy S10 sadly fell in the toilets and died yesterday.
I'm not playing at all, mainly listening to music, watching YouTube several hours a day, using WhatsApp and doom scrolling on Instagram and Reddit.
Things I value the most are battery life, fluidity and good screen and Bluetooth codecs.
Ideally I'd love induction charging because I always end up breaking the charging port one way or another.
My budget is... As low as possible. Below 500 for sure, ideally below 300, and I live in France.
Thanks!
I don't care about the camera, I don't care about it being thin or lightweight, frankly I don't even care that much about call quality.
Main use case for this phone is tethering for Internet via PDANet. This means it stays plugged in and overcharging often, which does the battery no favors and makes a replaceable one a huge plus.
Then it's just a few fairly lightweight apps, and the other most demanding use is I may watch Netflix from it occasionally.
As the title says, I don't really know which one to choose. On the one hand I like the Pixel for the camera and portability, but on the other I prefer the Xiaomi because of the hardware. However, I am afraid of the battery life and processor of the Pixel, and the OS of the Xiaomi. So, what would you do? I'd really appreciate some advice and I'm open to other suggestions :)
I can buy both of them for 400 euros.
Hello Everyone,
I am well aware that phones for macro photos is far from ideal. The thing is that most of the macro photos I take are spontaneous, I don't go looking for the object, I just run into it. Which means that I can't be always walking around with a lens.
That is why I am looking for a phone that can take macro photos, but photos that have that macro effect, that feels really close to the object(really close up marco)
The price of the phone does not matter, but I want it to be at least mid-range to flagship at performance and to be released in 2023-2024.
I would love if you can share photos made with the suggested phone.
Thank you in advance.
Hello
I am wondering what are budget phones with better camera than Pixel 7 or Pixel 7a?
Hello! I want to upgrade my 3.5 years old POCO. I use the phone daily, but mainly for low-demanding games (CRoyale, Brawl...), browsing internet/facebook/reddit/discord, some apps for work, a bit of Youtube (normally using jack headphones; I know many models are starting to avoid the connection). I'd appreciate a long battery life. My budget is around 330 euro. I checked the POCO X6 pro, which looks quite good (too bad it doesn't have a jack for the headphones), but I'm unsure -the POCO X3 looked like the best choice when I got it, but now there seems to be a lot of variety in similar phones.
Thank you in advance!
After watching some Tech Spurt reviews and his recommended Mid-Range Phones, I was able to enclose my Choices to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 (Not sure what variant yet), OnePlus Nord 2T, Nothing Phone 2a, Poco X6 (idk if Pro or normal), Samsung A55 and the Pixel 7a.
For now the normal Redmi Note 13 looks like a complete steal for only 160€, but since I want to settle to with a decent all-arounder phone for at least 2-3 years, I'm thinking of getting something better.
While the Pixel 7a, according to the fellow redditors, is the best All-Arounder, I'm unsure if it's actually Worth the Prize of 380€ and if it's surpasses the other named by a lot. Furthermore I would like to stay somewhat close to my Comfort Budget of 300€ (+80€ if insane upgrades). However it's hard to decide with so many different Phones, their slight Prize and often single Hardware/Software differences.
I really appreciate everyone that comments.
Hello!
I currently use IPhone XR, been using it for the last 4 years or so. I am in search of a new phone as my XR feels outdated, and I decided to try Android because iOS feels very limited to me which I do not like, but I still want to have stability iOS provides. I stopped on Galaxy and Pixel because I do not want to own any chineese tech.
I want my new phone to be stable and reliable, I plan to own it for the following 4 year at least (I like to get maximum of all my tech). I do not really use camera, I mainly use my phone to browse social media, messaging, watch youtube and listen to music, my average screen time is 2-3 hours/day.
I watched/read every review possible for all phones in question and feature-wise I like them all.
Currently In my country Galaxy S23 is $750, Galaxy S24 is $900 and Pixel 8 is $560. I know, Pixel seems obvious choice taking into account price, but the trick here is that Pixel 8 is not officialy being sold in my country, which means no returns, customer support and official repairs, so if something goes wrong with it - it is my problem to deal with. I am incluned to accept this risk but I heard a lot of complaints about defective Pixel devices, makes things harder.
So, what would you choose: official S23, S24 or "gray" Pixel 8?
Hello! So basically I have been using an iphone xs since 2020 and i'm looking to buy a new phone because the battery on this one can't even last me a complete day. What I really love about this phone is its camera, its the first iphone I ever owned so I am not that attachted to ios or the apple ecosystem.
I am buying second hand because i have a coupon in a store that would make it 216€ for the samsing and the iphone for 396€.
The price difference was what made me consider it the most, but after watching some comparison videos, my only qualm is the camera quality on the s23. Does anyone have any experience with it or can help me?
Thank you :)
I'm looking for a high-end phone (price is not an issue). I've always had low/mid range phones, so I'm looking for a good upgrade that is relatively new and has/allows:
I live in Europe, by the way, and buying from countries outside the EU is not a possible option for me
Use samsung galaxy a40 which i loved but want to upgrade to a new android phone not very expensive with good battery life and camera. Nowadays I work in a bar/club and need a phone that will make good videos and photos during evening/night for promoting on social media. Thank you for your suggestions.
I want to buy a phone which offers better display experience for my sensitive eyes. I think bigger screen is better. Secondly I need a camera that can record 4k 60 fps videos .
So I found Poco F5 PRO. Even though I never play games, its display attracts me: 120 Herz, 516 ppi 64B color display.
On the other hand, S23 FE display : 120 Herz 403 ppi , only 64 Million Color display but its camera has 3x optic zoom and telephoto lens.
So what do you think? Do telephoto lens make a huge difference on photo/video quality?
What is the difference between 64B color and 64 Million color ? Does this make huge difference on display quality?
Thank you.
Hi!
I'm thinking about buying it but have two main concerns so if any can help me decide will be so great.
7sgen2, afaik is almost (or maybe inferior) powerfully than the 3 years older 778g (and clearly inferior to 778g+) and it makes me think that maybe the device is not enough powerful for today use and future proof of, at least, 3 years.
On the other hand, the proximity sensor, I had the virtual one when used my poco f3 and was a totally nightmare, how is it working today?
Thanks!
Country: Australia.
Carrier: Lebara (vodaphone).
Price: 600 AUD or below.
Size Preference: I generally prefer smaller, more compact phones, but not really fussed either way.
Usecase: Just messaging and listening to music.
Prefered brands: For android phones, anything with good custom rom support. I'm omitting pixel phone's since the tensor chips seem notorious for heat issues. Anecdotally, a friend has meontioned heat being an issue with their pixel phone, especially here in Aus, so as a result I'm wary of newer pixel devices with tensor chips.
Other: I don't change phones very often (~5 years) so the device recieving software updates for a long time is pretty important. This is why I tend to gravitate towards android phones with rom support. In the past I've also done stuff like use microG and other tweaks to improve privacy, though I haven't gone as far as something like grapheneOS since I haven't owned a pixel. I'd like whichever device I end up with to be the more "private" one if that makes sense. Oh, battery life is also very important since I'm out most days and away from a charger.
Cheers!
I'm looking for a reliable phone to keep for 4+ years, with a fair camera (to take pictures that are nice to look at and remember beautiful or important moments), good battery life, and which runs smoothly. Coming from a Galaxy A32 5G, tired of low-tier (slow, shitty camera, plastic), for under 700€. If you have a better suggestion that ain't in the list I'd appreciate it.
