What just flew/sounded like it was crashing overhead palmy please?
It's my birthday in two weeks and I'm looking for a place to have dinner for 9 - 10 people. I haven't been living in palmy for very long so I don't know which places are good. Preferably western food more than Asian restaurants as I have a family of picky eaters
Any guys here that do massage? 💆
Just a buyer beware for anyone looking at buying for Yes Cars Palmy.
Edit: someone in the comments pointed out NZ new isn’t the same as Import (edited post to reflect its and import)
Just had a really shitty experience.
12 months ago my wife and I purchased a Japanese import from Yes Cars.
I asked specifically before purchase has the vehicle been fitted with NZ tyres or are they still the Japanese tyres from import. Was told by the salesman that it’s illegal for them to sell the vehicle with the Japanese tyres so they change them on import. Based on that and the fact we were happy with the vehicle after checking it out we purchased it. Just had the WOF done today and got told they’re still the Japanese tyres which have considerable wear. Obviously would have wanted to know what we were buying at the time so we could change the tyres when we still had the money to do so.
Spoke to the manager today who was incredibly rude, didn’t want to hear my point of view at all and all but said “your problem, you deal with it”
I didn’t want any money or to have the tyres replaced just wanted some acknowledgment that they screwed the pooch by telling us one thing when it was actually wrong and now my wife and I are up for a cost we did not anticipate so soon.
Very unimpressed and based on the managers attitude I would be very wary about dealing with this company in the future.
Hey all, long shot here but I found a kiwibank eftpos card near the shops in Awapuni.
If you've lost yours then give me a dm and can find a way to get it back to you or I'll drop it at the police station.
I've called kiwibank and they've put a block on it.
Hey all, Ive been on the hunt for CDs to build my collection. I've already been to Salvation Army, Red Cross (Both their shops) and Cashies (Didn't find anything there). Are there any other places in Palmy that sell these things?
Hi, I'm hoping to stay at the baxters student accomodation for 1 semester, do they require full payment up front or do you pay weekly.
Too early to email them right now, doesn't really say on the site
My MacBook Pro hard drive is failing. I’d like to have my data transferred to my 1T external hard drive. Any computer shop recommendations would be much appreciated.
I'm looking at getting a tattoo on my forearm, thinking it will take most fo the forearm space.
Simply it'd be my childhood home with flowers above it I'm wanting a good tattoo and one that will age well.
I'm wanting the flowers to have good detail in a realistic style, the house similar to the Up movie style.
Don't mind if there's a wait list, but don't really want to wait longer than 6 months
As it's a memorial tattoo I'm happy to wait to get it done right.
A couple of years ago when I initially started thinking about it, I was thinking of forever art, their ...apprentice? Did the style I like but they're gone.
Cheers
Anyone felt it?
does anyone have any connections that could get me an apprenticeship. I'm finding it extremely hard to find any, let alone an electrician one. Personally I see apprenticeships a good way to learn how to train for a trade without having to go to school. Is it possible in Palmy without going through ETCO?
Hi, everyone!
I'm at a bit of a crossroads and could use some advice. I’m trying to decide between pursuing a degree in Chemistry at Massey University or studying Laboratory Science at UCOL, and I’m struggling to figure out which option might be the better fit for me.
Here’s a bit of context: I have a background in pharmacy, so I already have some experience with labs, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. I enjoy lab work and analyzing how things work, but I’m also drawn to the idea of exploring pure chemistry and the opportunities that come with a university degree.
From what I’ve gathered so far:
Massey Chemistry seems more theory-focused and could lead to opportunities in research or postgraduate studies. UCOL Laboratory Science appears to be more practical, with a focus on applied lab skills, and might lead directly into lab technician roles.
My end goal is still a bit unclear—I’m open to research, working in a lab, or possibly even teaching down the line. I’m also trying to consider things like job prospects, the cost of study, and how much hands-on experience each option offers.
If you’ve studied at either Massey or UCOL, I’d love to hear about your experiences! How were the programs, the workload, and the support from lecturers? Which path do you think might be better for someone with my background and interests?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
I need money and need to get my excersize up, would anyone let me walk their dog for like $5 an hour
thanks
Apologies in advance to any customer service peeps.
On a more serious note, anyone know some good places to take a perfectionist old lady to?
