I’ve found myself with a single extra ticket for the Andre 3000 show tonight. It’s at The Met and doors are at 7/show begins at 8.
Solid seats and willing to give the ticket away for free.
DM me with a little about yourself if you’re interested!
My personal favorite is The Train pt2.
Feel free to name more than 1
I’m new to OutKast and listened to stankonia and da art of storytellin. I thought stankonia was alright but Da art of storytellin is AMAZING. The lyrics and hook and beat all work together to make my brain fire dopamine. So are there albums or songs similar to it by them?
I’m listening to Art of storytelling it sounds different on Apple Music for some reason, did they remaster them?
For some reason on Apple Music, some tracks for Aquemini kind of sound different, like they added new instruments or they isolated certain parts of the track and made them louder. for example on “Rosa Parks” I can hear the Guitar even louder than before, on “Da Art of storytellin’ part 1” the sample is even more potent in the mix
Title. Managed to get a really close seat in Row E but have scheduling conflicts. Paid around $160 but willing to sell for $100. Will accept negotiations. Thanks!
Anyone know what happened to this man? East Points Greatest Hit was on the rotation as much as OutKast and Goodie Mob (at least in my house) back in the day. I can’t believe he just fell off?? But I can’t find anything about him past wiki.
If you love OutKast and haven’t listened to Cool Breeze, just thank me later!
Edit: Watch for the Hook
I would like to preface this story by saying I have not been paying attention to André 3000's recent solo career. I loved Outkast when they were popular in the early 2000s so I definitely know what he looked like back then, but did not know what his current style looks like. I've often wondered to myself, if I saw a celebrity randomly in the wild, would I recognize them in the moment? And I learned the answer is apparently no lol.
So about two weeks ago on October 6th I was shopping at The Vintage Industry, a local antique store I really love in Springfield Oregon. This place is massive and if you take your time in that store you can easily spend an hour looking at everything. About halfway through my trip around the store, I noticed two dudes were shopping right near me also taking their time looking at everything. One of them had long kinda curly hair, the other was wearing a hat and some bold glasses. I first became aware of the second guy's presence because I heard a loud sound that startled me around the corner and realized it had come from this guy playing with some instrument. But it was loud as hell and startled the crap outta me lol. Anyways, we were shopping in the same areas through the store for a good twenty minutes or so but we didn't say anything to each other. I ended up behind them at the register, the one with the hat and glasses was buying the instrument he had found, looked like some kind of pan flute. He looked like he was tempted to buy some baked goodies that were at the register but decided against it. I overheard some of their conversation with the two cashiers and they mentioned they had just been in Oakland and were passing through Eugene on their way to Seattle. I thought huh, I wonder if these dudes are on tour in a band or something. They didn't really look that familiar to me but I also wasn't like staring them down trying to figure it out.
Fast forward to yesterday my sister tells me André 3000 was spotted at a record store called House of Records in Eugene recently which is right next to Springfield. I was like, wow imagine you're at House of Records and André 3000 walks in! Then I looked up a recent photo of him and the realization hit me, HOLY SHIT THAT WAS ANDRÉ 3000 AT THAT ANTIQUE STORE!!! The other guy was one of his bandmates. I looked up their tour dates and sure enough it lined up with when I saw them. I feel like an idiot for not realizing who he was but who on earth would expect to see him at an antique store in Springfield Oregon??? On that same note I'm actually glad I didn't realize in the moment because I probably would have been a lot more awkward. So anyways that's my story of how I technically shopped for antiques with André 3000 😂
I went to new blue sun last night and I hate to say it but I wouldn’t recommend going. The opener was a corny r&b artist/ poet then Andre and his band played improv for the next hour and a half. At fist I was into it, but the band just continued to play in this chaotic new age type way. Honestly it made me feel super anxious. I was hoping for something peaceful like the album. ( and if you’re thinking about taking mushrooms you are in for a ride lol) the best part of the concert were the 3 minutes he was talking for :(
Discovered it on a playlist, and it just has such a unique sound to it. I do plan on checking out the entire album at some point, but for now, I'm just looking for songs with the same vibe from any artist.
I watched the beginning and am SO UPSET I never saw the whole thing. Anyone know where I can find it? Once upon a time, it was on Netflix.
