Bond Issue for Trolley Car?

Does anybody know if the $80M transportation bond issue for Omaha will be used to build the trolley car from downtown to midtown? The election notice is silent about it.

Dan Osborn: Do you support former President Trump - Yes or NO?

I've been seeing a lot of ads lately that have risen my concern. I'm not going to say which way but - I need an answer. Either you're pandering to get votes one way or another or you have a view. Tell us. Now.

EDIT: Downvotes from literally just wanting an answer from him or his campaign who have been actively involved in this sub. Cracks me up. Demand better, Nebraska.

EDIT 2: Serously why can't I get an answer"????\

What does this mean?

Why does it say returned and then rejected? I got the application, filled it out, signed and mailed but never received my ballot. I checked the status because I was starting to get worried and then got this. So now what? I have to vote in person? Also if I want to vote Monday instead of Tuesday where do I go?

Discussion: how much of a chance does Nebraska have to turn blue this year?

I know this may seem delusional but I feel like there is a small but significant chance that Nebraska could flip.

Here’s my evidence.

The amount of registered voters in Nebraska this year is about the same as 2020. At that time about 76% of them voted.

This year there are 623k registered republicans 337k registered democrats 275k registered nonpartisan 17k registered libertarian 10k other

Initially it looks like there is no way. However, unlike previous years, this year exit polls on early voting in general show non partisan breaking heavily to Harris with any where from 60/40 to 2/1 advantage.

In addition early voting is also much higher in Nebraska this year with Nebraska in general up 7%. Early voting numbers are already surpassing 2020 and we still have several days to go. Normally I would say that this would favor democrats but this year many rural and heavily red areas went to an all mail in voting system and early voting in the reddest counties are up by double digits across the board.

Currently 293k people as of yesterday have voted. While we don’t know WHO they voted for we do know is that 48% are republicans 35% democrats and 17% other

Expectations are that democrats will near unanimously vote for Harris. The other votes should spit to Harris and trump. Previous 2.5% voted for other candidates for simplicity and fact that libertarians are leaning more to Harris this year and for simplicity I’m going to put that at 2%

So we have 15% to split to trump and Harris.

Best case scenario the split is 2:1 to Harris so that is 10% and 5%

This puts us at 53% trump 45% Harris

Close but still an 8 point difference Seems in surmountable right?

Republicans however are not unanimously voting for trump. There are many republicans who are voting for Harris this year. The question is will it be enough.

If just 4.1% of voting republicans vote for Harris that would flip the whole state in this scenario.

Is this going to happen? Probably not.

Is it possible? I would argue yes. I also expect to see voter turnout to be 80-85% this year and higher turnout tends to favor democrats.

What do you all think?

Dan Lonowski, Republican candidate for District 33, has told me he thinks women use abortion as BC and brag about it.

This man cannot be elected.

Provisional Ballot Question

I received my ballot a few weeks ago and filled it out this past week but later realized I marked the incorrect option for 435. I have not submitted my ballot and still have it in its envelope.

Since I have not turned in my ballot, would it be possible to receive a provisional ballot in its place and vote in person on Monday or Tuesday? I haven't been able to find information regarding this exact issue online, and my county's (Douglas) election office is closed until Monday.

And if I were to go on Monday, does anyone have advice regarding how early to get to the election commission in Douglas County on Monday morning?

Just heard the wildest attack ad

Accusing Tony Vargas of adapting a curriculum involving "transgender sex roleplay". Who the hell believes these kinds of ads? It's ridiculous but also gives me a chuckle.

Wanted: Latinos

If you’re voting for Trump and want to deport Latinos then retrain your worthless children to work these construction jobs that are essential to our economy. All that blood bath talk, yeah you might be surprised who’s spilling it. It shows just how incapable of understanding basic critical thinking, the Republicans have become. Trump threatens to use our own military against civilian protesters. You may be surprised about how that goes too. I literally switched my votes to Democrat as a Registered Republican because when it’s evident that you are still trying to dictate what we do with our own bodies and restrict our freedoms you are traitors to me.

Dan Osborn comedy ad

I've been told someone made a fake, satirical ad about Dan Osborn. I heard about 10 seconds and wanted to find the rest but I can't find it.

Does anyone have a link?

First time voter with a few question?

So on the voter registration website it’s given me a polling location am I only allowed to vote there? Also what do I need to bring? I figured an ID/license but when I was filling out the registration form it made it seem that something in the mail would come like some kind of voter card with my party on it or a form. So far that hasn’t happened, I just want to make sure I have everything right so I don’t get sent home and have to come back with the right things.

Some help would be appreciated for a first timer👍

If Ben Nelson was eligible to run for governor of Nebraska again, do you think he could win today?

Just wondering if he would have a shot in today's landscape

So sick of the ___ ad

The one with the censored “mobster” who’s shitting on Tony Vargas. Anyone else getting it like crazy on YouTube? Who makes these ads? Are we supposed to sympathize with the mobster? Is he censored because he is under witness protection? I guess it’s like the mobster is shocked someone is out-criming him? Is that the punchline?

How you feeling about the election? Specifically 439 being voted for?

Weve seen other red states like Kansas do the right thing and protect women's healthcare.

I don't have a lot of faith in Nebraska to do the right thing.

Steve Erdman Claims, "86 percent of all abortions are performed because the unborn child was considered to be an inconvenience". Refuses to provide any evidence and won't answer my calls anymore.

I stumbled across this blog post by Senator Steve Erdman arguing why he was in support of '434' (banning abortions past the 1st trimester) and opposed to '439' (amending the state constitution to protect the right to abortion).

His first argument is that 'Nebraska is a pro-life state' but we simply aren't reading to grant every fetus personhood, completely banning abortion outright, but he is in favor of that in the future. Which is why we need '434'.

Steve openly admits that his end goal is to outlaw abortion entirely and that '434' is the first step. And the only piece of statistal data that he uses to support this is that "86% of all abortions are performed because the unborn child was considered to be an inconvenience."

I found this piece of evidence fascinating if true. I wondered, what kind of study would have a category for 'inconveinence'? Was Steve just reinterpreting the actual data by himself? Long story short, I called Senator Erdmans office and asked for the information on that study, and they said they received that information from the 'Nebraska Family Alliance'. And after calling the 'Nebraska Family Alliance', they told me they have no idea what study Senator Erdman was talking about. Now Senator Erdmans office has blocked my phone number, however, i think I solved this little problem.

It is most likely that Senator Erdman saw somewhere that about 14% of abortions ended up being medically necessary to save the mothers life, and since then, and dependent upon his belief that ALL ABORTION SHOULD BE ILLEGAL, he's gone around claiming to people like it is a fact that 86% of abortions are so that the mother doesn't have to work as hard.

I can't express the despair I find in my soul that there are people in this state that belive so firmly in this nonsense and are so insistent on their superiority that they force their opinions and beliefs on others. They do not have any love to give the world. They have shut their ears to any dissent, and Senator Erdman is an example of the logical endpoint of that thinking. The endpoint being a very clear and frightening belief that, 'all women who get an abortion need to be either close to death, or they deserve prison'.

My ID has my old address on it, can I still vote?

I moved last year and filed a change of address form at the courthouse but not the DMV. So for the past year my DL has had my old address on it. It's been a crazy year so I never thought to fix it until this October.

I turn 26 on the 5th so I was planning on renewing it today at the DMV, got my paperwork showing my new address and everything. Except I get there and there's a note on the door saying they're closed today.

I dont have gas money to drive up to where they're actually gonna be today. Am I screwed? I really want to vote tomorrow.
