I’m working on a song about Nebraska and I want to release it this summer. It’s a pop song but with pretty heartfelt lyrics.
I was a lonely soul before I moved here and I found a home here.
I love this state so much and I wanted to write a song in tribute.
Just making a post about it. Not trying to advertise a song I haven’t even recorded yet. (:
What are the best lakes for swimming or fishing in Nebraska? Near southeast Nebraska?
I live in Lincoln and would love to switch to more reasonable cell phone plan. I am a senior citizen and pay over $100 a month for 2 lines with 2GB data with Verizon. Verizon has some affordable unlimited plans, but only if you have at least 4 lines. Whenever I travel, I run out of data. When that happens, you can buy more or they will give you free data at very very very slow speeds. Problem is, Verizon offers great coverage everywhere. And I imagine most services are fine in Lincoln and Omaha, but I'd like to know if there's a decent option that will work all over the state. We like to take short trips around the state, from Brownville to Niobrara, Ponca to Scottsbluff, so knowing what works outstate is important to me.
As the title states im moving to that area. I’m just looking for help finding something to rent
I’ll be coming up for a weekend at the end of May and I’m looking for some nicer restaurants to go to!
So I got an mip this last week and not sure what to do. First offense and I’m 18. Heard about diversion programs, and I’m not sure how it works in my situation as I attend college out of state. Am I even eligible for this kind of program? Ideally I’d like to get it sealed but I’m hoping for the best I can get. Anyone have experience in this?
Question for those that have fished it. It seems the lakes there are not amenable to bank fishing. This leaves us with our heavy fiberglass canoe or waders as options.
As far as fish go, we like them all.
Thanks!
Nebraskans embracing life is sponsored by the archdiocese of Omaha and headed by David Zebolsky who all have ties to spirit radio out of omaha that is also linked to EWTN and the people who want power want it for the wrong reasons. They want to make the church more political just the same story over and over.
Okay, so now that the primary election has passed, but people are still (hopefully) in that election mindset, can y’all help clear something up for me?
As part of my preparation for voting in the primary election, I had looked up a sample ballot for the general election. I saw that there is a ballot measure coming up, about scholarship tax credits. However, the actual text of the measure involves a yes/no question about repealing a different bill. I came to Nebraska after that other bill was enacted, and I can’t find anything clear on what it does, and what repealing that other bill would mean. So, can y’all help me understand what these 2 bills mean and what a yes/no vote in November would do?
I can gather that this is ultimately, a question about school choice and school vouchers. I do not agree with using public funds to send children to private schools, and I want my vote to accurately reflect my position. (This question is not an invitation for people to try and convince me to support school vouchers, do not try to.) But this measure is phrased in a very confusing way and I don’t have enough knowledge of Nebraska politics to know what’s going on.
If my neighbor has a tree getting close to my roof and siding, how do I ask them to trim it back?
What do we have to do to change our property tax laws in Nebraska? Can anyone convince me that I should appreciate paying this much in taxes?
After analyzing the numbers and comparing them to past primary and general elections, the outlook for Nebraska Democrats/Progressive Independents appears bleak. In the best-case scenario, they may only secure 13-15 seats in the legislature, losing their ability to sustain a filibuster, which requires 17.
Not advancing after primary or uncontested GOP seats: 1, 15 (Flip to R), 17, 19, 23, 37, 41, 43, 47.
Advancing but likely to lose in the general election: 3 (Flip to R), 21, 25, 31, 33, 39, 45.
Uncontested Democrat: 29
Democrats with strong prospects: 5 (Partial flip to D/McDonnell), 7, 9, 11, 13, 27.
Democrats with reasonable prospects: 49, 35 (Flip to D).
Incumbent Democrats not running this cycle: 6, 8, 10, 20, 26, 28, 46.
Fuck Jane Kleeb, Precious McKesson, and the National Democratic Party for abandoning Nebraska.
And it looks like we are getting Ernie Chambers back in the legislature.
Does anyone have insight on Hwy 34? I’m considering it as an alternative to I-80 to I-76, but want to make sure there’s regular stops for gas and food and such. Thanks
It’s Election Day in Nebraska and the polls are open!
Here are some reminders and tips, most importantly Voter ID is now law of the land in Nebraska.
Acceptable IDs include:
•Nebraska driver’s license
•Nebraska state ID
•U.S. passport
•Military ID
•Tribal ID
•Hospital, assisted-living facility or nursing home record
•Nebraska political subdivision ID (state, county, city, school, etc.)
•Nebraska college or university ID (public or private)
IDs can be expired. A voter’s ID must have their name and photo.
If you have an early ballot it needs to be returned to your county election office or secured ballot dropbox by the time pools close at 8 PM. Postmarked today is not good enough and will not count!
Use Voter Check to track your ballot: the URL is ne.gov/go/votercheck. That will also show your polling place.
I moved from out of state. My drivers license is about to expire and need a new one for NE. Had everything but unfortunately won’t accept copy of birth certificate. My id will likely expire before I receive it and am able to get back to the DMV. Is there any extension on these? Terrified of getting pulled over as I do still have to work.
