Did anybody happen to record the Instagram live the band did today? It seemed like it was pretty short but I think I missed the beginning and it doesn't look like it's available on their profile.

These come from a remix contest held in partnership with Indaba Music all the way back in 2010, which had two sets of stems for download:

-Mixed stems, free of charge (ironically, I still haven't found these)

-More in-depth, full studio multitracks, $2 each

The latter is what I've managed to download from songstems.net, on bippupload at a grueling 50kb/s. To save you the trouble, I've reuploaded all of them as individual .zip files on Google Drive. Enjoy!

Today, October 10th or 10/10, is the unofficial holiday 'Metric Day' (referring to the measurement system). That made me wonder if Metric (the band) does anything fun for the 'holiday'. Anyone know?

I’d probably go with 360, I feel like it can really suit Emily’s vocal range.

I think Joshua does great bass work on most Metric albums, I play bass and I enjoy playing a lot of his bass lines, but I really feel like he’s on another level on Formentera II. The tone is incredible, the lines are so melodic and add so much to the songs, I can name so many individual moments where his bass playing stands out more than any time before:

the album starts off with him at the front, with that disco-ish bass line in detour up. Just The Once keeps the disco thing going and is just so groovy and infectious. Days Of Oblivion is again, built around a beautiful melodic bassline. Who Would You Be For Me has that moment where he’s alternating between the octaves. And Go Ahead And Cry, well, the bass performance on that song is phenomenal, it can literally make me cry.

The man deserves a lot of respect for his work this time, is what I’m saying.
