I got myself a dope ass job at the Honda plant, but had to leave my home in Athens for it.
I'd like to find a rental somewhere on the outskirts. Doesn't have to be fancy, but I can afford fancy if needed.
Any leads?
My husband and I are not locals but we were driving in the area and saw a store(or similar) next to I think a great clips and a Honda Motorsports store off of Coleman's Crossing. Does anyone know what it is? The outside is grey and all it has for sign is a big red Smiley face. Google says it was the Y but doesn't look like now 😂
Got permission from the mods to post about this here.
I just created r/937 for anything that might be relevant to the area but larger than one city or one county. For example, this could've been a great resource when everyone was making plans for the solar eclipse. I ended up going up to Sydney, but I did spend some time researching what was going on in other places along the path. It could have been useful to have one place to talk about things going on along the path without needing to go to multiple websites/subreddits/etc.
Anyway, if you have something you want to talk about that you think would be of use to others in the area, it's another place you can share the info.
Just heard what sounded like a canon going off near 5th/Maple ~6:45pm. Anyone know what it was?
I'm a beginner fiction writer and wondering if any writers groups in Maryville area?
Been up and down Coleman Crossing and either side of 5th today, and the whole town smells off. Anyone have any insights?
Hi all! I'll be moving to the Columbus area in the next month to work as a Honda engineer, and was thinking to live in Marysville since it's close to the plant. Does anyone have suggestions for good affordable apartments in the area, or know anyone looking for a roommate? I'm 22M and my budget is around $1400, although I'm hoping to go below $1000 by finding a roommate.
(Also I know that this sub doesn't get too much traffic, so I'll definitely try posting to r/Columbus too.)
Just had a relatively banal interaction with a representative of Greenix which was wholly unremarkable.
However, after I returned inside my home (maybe 10minutes later) I noticed the rep was crossing the street back towards my home. Thinking they were going to again come to my door, I waited by the door to rebuke them again. Only, the rep did not come to my door (which I could see by an adjacent window. Instead they were slowly walking away, looking over their shoulder at a pair of young women who had walked past. The rep then paused in the sidewalk and 'accidentally' dropped his pamphlet, slowly bent over while looking around, then looked back towards the young women (who were wearing short skirts). He lingered for far too long, then SLOWLY stood up, still looking at the women, and went on his way.
Anyone else disturbed by the number of confederate flags, swasticas, ss thunderbolts and such being displayed by the loudest vehicles around town? Its been incredibly loud on the main roads, and most every store Ive been into the last week or so Ive walked past someone with tattoos or perephenelia.
Is this normal here and Ive just been blissfully unaware since moving here, or is this all because of an event or something?
Looking for things to do around Marysville or even people to hang with.
Always try to shop and connect local when possible.
Drop me a line and we connect. I would like to know more about your business.
Cheers.
There were a number of us at the park today around 10:45 and witnessed such a shocking act of animal cruelty. A man was walking around the dog park, he’s there quite often. He has headphones in and doesn’t watch his dog, just walks for exercise. I’ve witnessed him on numerous occasions ignore his dog pooping and not cleaning it up. Today he walked past a woman with her dog standing close to her. As he walked by he said “hey” loudly and we all turned to look. The dog had apparently nipped at his shorts as he walked by. The woman had full control of the dog by the collar and the man stood over the woman and her dog, waited a good few seconds, then reared his hand back and with a closed fist, backhanded the dog square on the side of its head. The dog didn’t react except to whimper. The punch was loud enough for people on the other side of the park to hear it and come running. The woman was in shock but another woman ran to her defense , stood between the woman/dog and the man and screamed at the top of her lungs for the man to leave. My husband was only a few feet behind her and was quick to put himself between the dog and the man also before following him out of the dog park to make sure he left. Half a dozen people witnessed it and we all came to the same conclusion: his punching the dog was nowhere near a rational response to the dog possibly nipping at his leg. It’s one thing to reach down and push the dog away if they have nipped at you, even swatting at the dog. But this man stood there for maybe 5 seconds looking at the dog without moving away from it before punch the dog’s head. The woman had the dog by the collar and the man made no effort to move away from the dog. It was pure punishment of the dog, not a response to being nipped in the moment. I’m not here to say whether the dog did nip him but we all witnessed it and if the dog did nip at him it was hardly an aggressive attack. The man walks quickly and is tall and I’m wondering if the dog was sending a message to stay clear of his female owner. I hope the owner rethinks taking her dog to the park with others but the dog was relaxed and friendly before and after the attack with all the humans and dogs at the park, there was no other sign of abnormal behavior. But what this man did was horrific and I hope she presses charges. My husband took a photo of his license plate before he left. He’s there almost daily, I’m sure you’ve seen him and his older black dog there if you visit the dog park. Such a shitty thing to do as I felt he sized her up before hitting the dog. If it had been my 6’4” husband I highly doubt he would have assaulted our dog. I’ve seen some aggressive dogs at the park before have seen some instances of people fearing a growling dog and behaving completely the opposite of this asshole. Assaulting a dog carries up to 180 days in jail if she doesn’t press charges. If he can prove that the bite was severe enough that it warranted punching the dog in the head then so be it, but everyone who witnessed it came to the same conclusion: the dog wasn’t a danger to this man in any way and his violence was unwarranted.
Just moved to the area a year ago and have wanted to pick up tennis! Anyone know of good clubs or groups to go and hit around?
Thanks!
Just moved to the area and am shocked by how many of the businesses here have products with peanuts, and also how many do not take any real allergy precautions when they do.
Is this a local cultural thing that I'm unaware of, or is it just happenstance?
Looking for an ethical mechanic in Delaware, Lewis Center, Marysville area. I’ve used one mechanic for the last 20 years but their quality has gone down and prices gone up in the last 5 years or so. I just don’t trust them anymore due to shoddy work and up selling.
Is it too much to ask for an honest, trustworthy mechanic?

Thank you
Bought a framed photo (for the frame). This photo was shot by Sidney Walton, Marysville. Would love to get it back to the family.
Is it just me or are the wing quality at Roosters going downhill? My last visit seemed to have more oil than sauce? They were gross.
I just noticed today while in Plain City at one of my company's regional warehouses that there is a water tower there that says Marysville on it. But Marysville is some 10+ miles away from Plain City. Anyone know what that's about? Does the Marysville water department serve Plain City or something?
