A subreddit for men to post photos and share stories of their polished nails. This is a space to discuss anything related to nail polish or its relation/correlation to gender expression.

This subreddit is open broadly regardless of gender for anyone who wants a men's or masculine space, which includes all men (including trans men), as well as non-binary people, transfeminine people, or women who value this space.

A subreddit for men (including cis male, male-identifying, trans men, etc.) to share stories, post photos of their polished nails, and discuss anything related to nail polish and its relation to gender expression.

Those for whom the wearing of polish may also pose challenges (genderqueer, genderfluid, androgyne, trans women, etc.) are likewise welcome.

Rules

1.Be kind and supportive; don't be a jerk or a creep

Comments or titles that degrade, discourage, or are needlessly hurtful will be removed. If you disagree with something, remember, you don't need to comment or react. Respect others experiences/expression.

Constructive criticism is welcomed, but be kind with your wording. (e.g. “Your polish is flooding your cuticles, a clean up brush could fix that!”).

Comments or titles that are overly sexual, suggestive, creepy, dehumanizing, or ask to PM, are NOT welcome and won't be tolerated.

Final ruling is up to mod discretion

2.No NSFW/Fetish content

We're SFW community that's open to members of all ages.

No pornography or sexual content. No suggestive titles, comments, poses, or camera angles. Please keep any bare-leg photos below the knee.

Final ruling is up to mod discretion

3.No low effort posts/photos

Photos that are not polish oriented in manicure/pedicure photos, or in action/real life shots, will be removed. This rule is geared towards posts that are showcasing things other than polish (i.e. shoes, clothing items, jewelry, etc.) Remember to post in the correlating subreddit.

This will be up to mod discretion

4.No self promotion/advertising

Do NOT link directly to other social media's/platform when posting, or automatically comment it on your posts.

Do NOT provide your social media usernames and ask users to “PM/DM/HMU”. This is not the place for dating/hookups, or advertising other platforms. There are other subs dedicated to that, we ask that you post in the correlating subreddit.

Do NOT post here about your company or product - at all. If you're a company, consider taking out a Reddit Ad.

5.No flooding the sub (posts/comments)

1 post per polish color/nail look will be allowed per day, to cut sub flooding/spam. If you have multiple differing looks/colors to post in a single day, feel free to share them with the subreddit. Separate posts for manicures and pedicures will be accepted and allowed and can be shared on the same day, the primary focus on those posts has to be either the manicure or pedicure.

If you want to share multiple photos/angles of the same look/polish, consider compiling an album on a photo hosting site (i.e. Imgur, etc.) and post that link, or provide a link in your comment section on the original relating post. Or, consider posting a collage that showcases the different angles/photos you wish to share.

6.Content MUST relate to nails and/or polish

This sub is about nails, nail care, nail issues, nail polish, nail inspiration, and more. All things relating are welcome (e.g. nail memes, hauls, collections, etc.).

Discussion about wearing nail polish as a male (male identifying, nonbinary, FTM, MTF, gender fluid, androgynous etc.) is very welcome.

Discussing how your sexual orientation relates to your polish hobby or nail care interest is also welcome. We don't want to stifle discussions about the “taboo” of men wearing polish in society.

7.Polish and Product lists

Providing polishes and products used is strongly encouraged, however it is not a requirement.

Try to help out others who inquire about a color or product, if possible.

Not bad but the formula was hard to work with, even for a yellow. Maybelline Fast Gel / Dainty Yellow

Light Pink sns powder

Wife did not like it(it’s too pink) but she got over it pretty quick. I love them and can’t wait til next time so they can be longer. Had real short middle fingers. I think they just look better longer.

Hello, newbie here!

So yeah, haven't done this since around 2013 or whatever, so please excuse how bad my nail polishing skills have become, haha. Nails are also too short and kinda uneven, but I just wanted to post here and say how thankful I am for a subreddit like this and how happy I am to be here. You all rock! 💅

Nice to find there's a sub for this, I had a feeling I wasn't alone! Thank you!

I started with professionally done extensions and Gels (diff colors but love French Tip!) back in 2020 and stopped about 6 mo ago for no particular reason. I've been missing them and now finding this sub encourages me to get back to the salon! Thanks for doing this sub! If your curious my 'origin story' is below.

I'd decided to present a more "feminine" appearance publicly. I'm Bi M, was in my late 50's and had, privately, very much enjoyed crossdressing at home for some years and slowly replaced all my wardrobe with women's clothes. No dresses (ok, a couple) but you can get a lot done with yoga pants and, imho, bellbottom jeans still rock.

I'd just done 2 months of proton therapy for prostate cancer (cured! psa=0) and just figured: "I'm single, successfully self employed, don't really have to answer to anyone so... Fukit. I don't have to give a shit anymore if someone "gets" me or not." I have to say though, stepping out the salon door that first time with my long, perfectly done, pale yellow nails shining in the sun was a little nervy.

My friends were curious but got used to the look quickly. I explained that they'd be seeing a little "softer" image from me from now on. I hired five of them to help me rebuild my boat and we spent half a year at the boatyard doing the hard stuff. The boatyard is not a particularly "genteel" location and I was pleasantly pleased I got no static at all. Turns out you can still be taken seriously with long red nails and long blond hair if you're serious about your work.

The extensions didn't make it through the second day so I had to go back and have the salon re-do them extra thick. They still looked really good after work but brother, I coulda killed a man with these things, lol! Practically speaking though there were actually lots of times my nails helped me get some detail done but there's certainly limits and it hurts like MF-Hell to jamb one of those things!

The relatives at Christmas were curious and respectful. Three of my 4 older step brothers conspicuously made a point of making sure that they understood just how the entire process of getting them done worked, how often they're done, are they on all the time (they are/were), etc...., and I wouldn't have respected them quite the same if they hadn't gently busted my chops a little, mostly i think just making sure I was comfortable and secure in my decision, which I am.

I hope that wasn't to wordy, I'd really like to hear other guys experiences! I've been the only guy I know who wears their nails polished full time.

Baby blue!

I love trying new colors. I work at a bank, in the financial crimes department so it’s not customer facing, but I still get a little nervous walking in with new colors.
