I have noticed even though I am eating the same food, depending how it is cooked, will determine if I have a gut response. Example: potatoes cooked in the microwave;no reaction. Same potatoes cooked in the oven; down for the count gut response immediately. Ex 2: rotisserie plain chicken/grilled plain chicken breast; no gut response. Same chicken in the instapot; next day strong lower GI response. I also have gerd and gastoparesis so unsure if this is playing a role. Anyone experiencing something similar and/or thoughts?
Hi I am developing a platform to help people with food allergies and food intolerances. I have developed a survey to help me get the information to do so. If you could please take a minute to fill it out I would really appreciate it. It is completely anonymous. Here is the link:

I am in the elimination phase of the diet. Unfortunately I am also a type 2 diabetic and my blood sugar keeps getting lower
This evening I was feeling lightheaded so I checked my blood sugar ... it went down to 60, which is very low. I have the Livongo glucose testing system for my diabetes, which sends my results out like a cell phone. I immediately got a call from a Livongo coach.
Since I had no honey or full sugar jelly, she had me eat an apple and I also ate some regular cookies. After 15 minutes my sugars went up to 80, which is on the border of being too low.
Has anyone had issues like this and what do you eat to keep your blood sugar up? BTW I don't have my first appointment with my GI doctor until December 18th (primary doctor gave me the info on the diet and told me to start it).
What are you go-tos for Thanksgiving? Any hacks, recipes, ideas you can share for fellow LowFodmappers to prepare for the holiday of food.
Has anybody smoked a low fodmap beef or elk jerky? I’ve seen a couple recipes but they’re few and far between.
I'm tired of the sweet protein bars with flavors like chocolate, sweet coconut, peanut butter, caramel, birthday cake, etc. I am looking specifically for savory protein bars that are low fodmap. Or maybe they have some fodmaps but like no alliums (garlic, onion). So, like bars like this https://www.afarfoods.com/ but have no garlic or onion. The Japanese Miso flavor seems to not have garlic and onion, but is this the only option we have?

I made this mobile webapp for someone trying to limit fodmap in their diet. Thought other people might find it useful.
It's designed to be a quick lookup while food shopping.
Hi! I myself am not on low FODMAP diet, but my very dear friend is and he is struggling quite a bit with it. Does anyone have any resources for me to learn more about it besides the immediate google results? Any recipes/substitutions? Low FODMAP friendly restaraunts? Anything would be wonderful, I just want to help him stop feeling this bad about his new food restrictions.
I've discovered that flax seed is the best form of fiber for my IBS but I'm trying to find easier ways to take it.
I’ve had “ibs” for about 15 years now. The past 3 years I have completely cut out dairy, gluten/wheat, and added sugars minus coconut sugar, honey, and maple syrup in hopes It would help with my autoimmune diseases. I never wanted to go low fodmap because I love them and I’ve been on a restrictive diet so I didn’t want to add on. But I’ve been incredibly bloated all the time and my ibs-c has been terrible. So I figured let’s just give it a shot. I’ve been on this diet since Sunday so nearly a week. I wasn’t expecting it to be a miraculous thing and my ibs would be cured but I’m still incredibly bloated as if I haven’t changed anything at all. How long did it take y’all to feel a difference? Or did you even feel any relief at all? Anyways, this blows but trying to keep positive 🥲👎🏽
I have absolutely no idea what to do. My gastroenterologist put me on the lowfodmap diet, but I’ve also had my gallbladder taken out plus I’m lactose intolerant and have some food allergies and I don’t know what I can eat that’s like nutritious and will taste good. So i can’t have a lot of fat plus no dairy products and I’m very allergic to some fruits and almonds and am not sure what to do. Any tips would be really appreciated<3
Hi all - for those of you who have gotten diagnosed with a form of a gastro disorder/disease or have gotten testing done due to stomach/digestive issues, what has your experience been? What help have you gotten from your doctor?
I have been reluctant for years to actually go see a doctor for this because I feel like all they’re going to do is tell me to do an elimination diet and get a bunch of expensive testing done I probably don’t need (yes this is cynical sounding of me 😅).
Warning: im super duper in my feels right now and sobbing. I just need someone to hear me out.
I’m about two weeks into the diet, and I absolutely want to scream. I have all of the apps, I’ve looked up all of the recipes, and I’ve made multiple things. It all taste like Jenny Craig diet food. I’m terrified that after the elimination phase I’m still going to have to eat like a damn rabbit and it’s taking such a toll on my mental health. I’m literally telling myself that food doesn’t need to taste good, food doesn’t need to bring me joy, it literally just needs to keep me alive. How do I teach myself to like healthy food? I’ve been eating like crap for so long. And I understand that I should be happy that my gut is feeling better. But I am so miserable because everything I eat taste like cardboard. And no, paprika isn’t a lifesaver. I cannot afford the fancy spices online. Please don’t tell me that they’re not that expensive. I am a teacher and I am barely making ends meet as it is. I cannot spend $15 on fake garlic. How do I train my pallet to like everything that I hate? I feel so hopeless right now. I’m so scared this is my new normal. I’m starving, irritable, unsatisfied. I don’t want to live like this.

I am cooking for my mom for Thanksgiving. She recently has been following a low fodmap diet r/t recommendation from her GI doc. What are everyone's favorite recipes?? Any lessons learned from a gluten-free bread stuffing? Any advice you can give would be highly appreciated since this is my first year with this modified diet. TIA!!
I’ve heard that herbal teas like peppermint and ginger can help soothe IBS symptoms. For those who’ve tried it, does drinking these teas really make a noticeable difference? Any particular type or brand that’s worth trying?
Did my dream as a lazy low fodmapper finally come true??
I was diagnosed with SIBO and have done multiple rounds of antibiotics with little luck. I have had both SIBO types and have been dealing with C for a while. I have been doing the low FODMAP diet for the last 5 weeks since my last antibiotic round. My GI symptoms such as gurgling, burping, nausea, etc. have improved as well as anxiety, brain fog, etc. I do still sometimes react to some low FODMAP foods but it seems to be pretty random. I am currently in the reintroduction phase of the diet and feel like I am reacting strangely to FODMAPs. Each time I reintroduce (so far have done fructan - gluten, sorbitol, and mannitol) I do not get any GI symptoms but instead more neurological symptoms such as pressure in my head/fogginess, tiredness, and maybe an increase in anxiety. I am wondering if this is a "normal" reaction to FODMAPs and I am in fact reacting, this could be because the SIBO is still present, or whether this sounds like an anxious reaction to adding back in foods that I know could harm me. My dietician was not helpful....any insight would be appreciated!
What gluten free low fodmap cereals can we have? My default is always plain cheerios but I'm bored...
Hi everyone, I’m on day two of this diet and my hunger feels insatiable! I’m trying to balance allowed carbs, protein, vegetables and fruit but only an hour or two later my stomach is growling again. Before this, I was eating highly processed, carb loaded foods, lots of cheese, basically everything easy. Is my body just adjusting normally to this or does anyone think I’m maybe just not eating enough food? Thanks in advance for any experienced insight shared!
So, I never got to try the old Fody ketchup and now I’m reluctant to try the new recipe since it seems to be universally disliked.
Are there any other safe ketchup brands that I can get in the US?
I know I could make my own, but I’m really trying to avoid having to do that. Between life being hectic and really struggling with my ADHD, I need convenient food solutions wherever possible… 😬
Hello! Does anyone have convenience foods that are low fodmap or even if not that work for them?
Lately all my convenience foods are bothering me, and sometimes I just need to grab and go. I typically try to have safe homemade quick eats in the freezer, but I need something between big meal preps. Any ideas?
?
Made this 2wks ago! It was delicious 😋 albeit time-consuming lol
I've posted the recipe here:

does anyone know of any lowfodmap candy i can have for halloween?
Hey! I am just starting out the introductory phase (currently on day 3) after an IBS diagnosis and I am very overwhelmed. I’m a college student and don’t particularly like cooking, so simple, ready to go meals are ideal. Before this, I would eat a lot of frozen meals (mostly trader joe’s stuff and frozen chicken), but seems like most of that has garlic and onion (if not even more FODMAPs). Any tips for getting started? Good grab-and-go snacks or microwaveable meals you guys have found? Thanks!
Hi, im in my 3rd week and I'm starting to think that the "it's gonna get better in [x amount of time]" is a complete lie. Especially regarding the sugar cravings. Like I see the point, I have no stomach aches [i used to wake up with such strong ones that i had to spend 30 minutes in the toilet], I lost 5kgs in 2 weeks and my stomach went from being kinda fluffy to almost flat but gods I hate life and I'm craving sugar so badly and I'm not allowed to have any. Maple syrup/fruits/flavoured tees aren't helping and I hate artificial sweetners. They're disgusting and make me feel like shit. I've been mad the whole time and I'm constantly lashing out at everyone around me. Any tips?
