A place for those experiencing candida in any of its forms to come for advice, recipes, tips and the benefit of community wisdom and support. Getting a diagnosis of candida is confusing! The internet seems divided on nearly all fronts and finding conclusive advise on how to proceed with ridding yourself of this stubborn gut fungus sometimes seems overwhelming. We're stuck in a weird middle ground between western medicine and crystal healing where few experts dwell! We are each other's best hope.

Assistance with contradictions?

Basically everything being preached here can be contradicted with scientific literature to prove it is counter-productive. It's like the proverbial drop in the bucket scenario, sure keto or antifungals have some benefits, but they have significantly more negatives. Most people don't know that the diet proven to have the longest life expectancy is low protein high carb, which is completely counter to what is being promoted here. Or the use of antifungals which I can't seem to find anyone who says it has permanently "cured" them, only caused side effects and according to science disrupted the fungal biome which in turn disrupts it's relationship with the bacterial biome. Again, counter-productive. What's worse is there is virtually no one saying they've been cured and are back to eating whatever they want by following these protocols, yet there is a mountain of people saying they're sick/worse by following them. It seems like a majority of people here aren't cured, they're surviving by limiting their diet to reduce symptoms.

So if the approved protocol doesn't work, why is it still being promoted? Wouldn't it make more sense to investigate alternate protocols? Everyone healthy has Candida, so the objective shouldn't be to kill it or starve it entirely, but to find out why it's overgrowing in the first place. Perhaps this is why it's not recognized by most doctors, because Candida overgrowth is a symptom of a bigger problem, and attempting to resolve it by killing it is futile. By waiting 2yrs for a diet to "cure you" when it is highly deficient in certain vitamins/minerals and causes inflammation (high protein/fat diets), we're doing more harm than good and likely setting back healing even further. If people's symptoms mostly started after taking antibiotics (decreases beneficial bacteria), why wouldn't taking steps to help the beneficial bacteria be part of treatment? All I see are herbal antimicrobials like oregano that kill beneficial bacteria or diets that starve them. Nothing helps them, even the probiotics regimen being suggested, while they do have some benefits, it's a drop in the bucket again and has a fundamental flaw in reasoning. Probiotics are alive, they need to eat too, so they're going compete for food/resources with your beneficial bacteria.

Doesn't this confuse people? Almost like the blind leading the blind, why are we following people that are still sick in the hopes they will show us how to get better when they themselves aren't better? Makes no sense.

If anyone wishes, they can search medical journals or even ask AI chat bots if my points are true. I won't spoon feed anyone, you have access to the internet just as I do, learn to use it.

Bad Breath from the nose.

For over three years, I’ve noticed that I have been breathing out foul-smelling air, especially when I'm working. This has significantly impacted my confidence. I have no friends, mostly because I’m trying to avoid the negative treatment and the belief that I don’t take care of my oral health. However, despite my concerns, I’ve been to eight different dental clinics, and they all say I have healthy teeth and gums.

Along with this, I’ve been experiencing acid reflux for quite some time. I even had an endoscopy, and was told that there is nothing wrong inside me, so I should be fine. I was prescribed Gaviscon Double Action, but it didn’t help at all. I still suffered from bloating and chest pain.

Recently, I started watching YouTube videos to learn more about this issue. I changed my approach and began taking apple cider vinegar to increase stomach acid, along with probiotics and digestive enzymes, because I noticed the symptoms worsened after eating.

I also observed that I might have thrush (candida), which could be a result of my body being too alkaline, creating an environment where candida thrives. In response, I’ve stopped eating carbohydrates and any processed foods. My diet now mainly consists of chicken, eggs, and coconut oil. I’m also taking Fluconazole and oregano oil to combat the candida.

Although I haven’t seen much difference yet, I’ve been dealing with this for three years, so I know I need to stick with my new approach for at least six months.

Die-off or algeric reaction?

Decide if chickenpox (parents said that it could be but I never met anyone tired), candida die-off, or an algeric reaction. I took flow adjust 50mg (6/30 days) and diflucan 50mg (6/7 days). I woke up on Friday (the day where I'd take last diflucan dose) with a sudden skin rash almost all over my body (scalp, face, abdomen, chest, back, least on legs) that increased a little duing whole day. I took 7th dose of flowadjust and diflucan (finished it) on Friday, I'm feeling also sore throat and sometimes a feeling of coldness at night beside itching at anus/ass (not sure because of skin rash/yeast infection). Some also peeled, and some also blisters (yellow that gets white liquid if opened). I took avil 45.5mg 2cm at Saturday. Going to a demorlogist on Saturday. What do I have?

Hello everybody do you think that slightly smelly mucus and yeasty smelling toenails could be a sign

Hello everyone. I did a GI360 test in 2022 that did not detect candida. But now it is 2025. I have twi toenails that are prone to a yeasty gross smell and they are slightly brittle and yellow. And the inside of my nose can smell bad when eating too much sugar and dairy particularly mixed. But I did notice it also has ti do with feeling exhausted the more exhausted the more low tune system.

Anyways, would you guys say this is a sign of a slight candida infection and what supplements would you recommend? Already brought berbine and will buy pau'd ARCO.

People who don't usually react, good or bad, to treatments, what finally got a reaction?

There's lots of people who can take probiotics or antibiotics or prebiotics who don't have a herx or change in stool or abdominal pain. They don't really feel any difference.

For those people what is a supplement or treatment you took that you actually felt, good or bad?

How early can candida adapt or build resistance?

I am fighting candida overgrowth which is confirmed by organic acid test. I feel every anti-fungal herb or supplement that I take gives me die-off symptoms only for a couple of days. After that I will not experience die-off symptoms until I switch to a different product. Can candida build resistance and adapt in 48 hours?! If that is the case what is the best approach for continuously reducing candida population?

GI map test?

So, im on my secomd month of protocol. I am planing to doo a GI map test. Should i stop using the suplements before it-natural antifungals, biofilm disrupters, probiotics, digestive enzymes, vitamins, milk thisle, minerals, binders. I will do the test. I will start with colon hydrotherapy and ozone therapy of gut and blood after the test and after the therapies i will do a second GI map test. So, any recommendation. And second, im planning to take apo lactoferrin in order to steal the iron from tge candida. One month ago at the beggining of my protocol my serum iron was very high. So, thats the reason why my candida was so severe. She ate the iron and was thriving like crazy. Is the iron for the candida something like sugar-boost for her energy? I never had any gut issues in life since before 2 months. So, please help. If somebody wants to chat, im open.

Budget Biofilm Busters

I’m gonna take nystatin but was wondering if it’s enough to drink kefir and maybe get NAC? Are there any must have budget biofilm busters? I’ll take zeolite as a binder.

Is this Candida die-off in my stool?

I recently had a bad case of oral thrush. I went to my local urgent care and was prescribed a ten day Nystatin regimen. On my last day of that medication I had an appointment with my primary care doctor. My oral thrush was not 100% gone so he prescribed me Fluconazole for 7 days. Yesterday was my first day taking the new medication. A few hours later I went to the bathroom and had "this stuff" come out in the toilet. Yesterday there was about twice this much. Today the same thing happened a few hours after taking the med. Is this from the die-off?

Probiotics during or after Candida treatment?

Should I be taking probiotics during the kill phase? I get mixed answers through two different FDN-P's and personal research myself. Some recommend to take during kill phase along with the rebuild phase, and some recommend only adding probiotics in during the rebuild phase to ensure colonization.

candida albicans in urethral swab yeast infection

hello, my vaginal swab came out negative for yeast and candida. however, my urethra and vaginal discharge showed heavy candida albican overgrowth.

ive been on antibiotics for almost two weeks and before even getting my swab results. dr prescribed fluconazole 5 pills 3 days apart . i took two of them so far but it doesnt seem much of a help! not much itchiness, it just feels tender and very red around the clit/urethra. pain around the pelvis specially when i pee.. cloudy urine with floating stuff...

im confused whether this a urinary tract yeast infection or vaginal yeast infection.. i feel like i might not be getting the benefit of the antifungal that im on the antibiotics still! im also taking probiotics and cranberry juice. tried applying coconut oil externally to relieve the itch the first few days but doesnt seem to be working internally i guess.

id really appreciate your suggestions. i was also wondering if theres an IV antifungal med or something that i could take systemically.. i struggle with swallowing capsules so ive been empyting out its content in applesauce

Biocidin die-off or harmful side-effect?

Have been using Dentalcidin and Liposomal mouth rinse alongside the Biocidin liquid drops. I have been using all three concurrently for approximately three weeks. I have seen progressive and gradual improvement in my terrible oral thrush. However, I believe the Biocidin is either giving me horrible die off, or actually causing a systemic worsening of my intestinal Candida overgrowth. Can anyone assist with any knowledge regarding?

I have since stopped the Biocidin drops because I have seen a tremendous increase in ring worms located on my upper arms, jock itch manifestation, a large increase in perianal itching and a horrendous worsening of a stench from my shoes after I wear them all day (I wear darn tough wool socks and put my shoes on a boot dryer over night). I’ve also seen increase in the rough/dry skin on both sides of my nose (happens the worse my gut health gets). The histamine reactions in my eyes has increased ten fold and I cannot explain the itching of my skin in the most random places, mostly my back and mostly when I lay down or press against something. Also there has developed large areas of dry, red, chaffed and itchy spots on the back of my calf’s, lower belly, and arms.

Is this die off, or does it just sound like my gut health is decreasing from the harsh Biocidin and the Candida is actually proliferating and worsening?

For context I have a mid diet, not healthy but not tremendously horrible and take probiotics, but everything else is largely the same as before using Biocidin, so I can basically narrow it down to either the Biocidin, or the Visbiome GI care 112.5 billion probiotic.

Iron and Ferritin

On 20.12 my iron was high. After that i had a lot of candida in the stool daily. On 09.01 my iron was a lot lower and my Ferritin was high. So im taking chlorella, spirulina, vitamin c and multivitamins and minerals where is iron as well. So, is anybody aware how to proceed with candida and the connection with iron, ferritin, suplements with iron. Because i can tell there is some connection here. So, please advice how to proceed in such case. As far as i know, it the ferritin is high, the body collects the iron in order to protect it from the pathogens to eat it. So, how is your ferritin and iron. So, i was not seeing any dead candida in the stool in the last 10 days, yesterday i took spirulina and chlorella, i felt great, but today i see again dead candida in stool. Please give some opinion. Because, when i take vitamin c, vitamins and minerals, chlorella and spirulina j feel a lot more energetic and better, but does candida thrive on this suplements. How to you proceed with some kind of iron connection.

Die off symptoms only after garlic. Does it mean the infection is outside of my GI tract?

I am dealing with bunch of neurological symptoms and candida overgrowth is confirmed by organic acid urine test. I have tried different anti fungals like olive leave extract and undecylenic acid and they don’t cause significant die off symptoms. But whenever I take fresh garlic I experience severe die off symptoms. Does that mean the infection is not in my GI tract? I have read that garlic is the only herb that can reach systemic infections that are outside GI tract. Does it mean I need prescription medication and herbal anti fungals cannot help me?

Nystatin treatment

I’m gonna start to take nystatin for my candida. My diet has been very clean / healthy for quite a while. I take kefir almost daily so I already get the biofilm buster lactoferrin.

I’m thinking of getting NAC with that too. I’d rather not buy the usual recommended biofilm busters like Kirkman, since that’s a bit out of my budget. I also have zeolite as a binder.

I was wondering what else I should get or if this is enough?

Also what would be a good dosage to start? And how long should I take the meds for? Can I just decide to stop once I feel like it has fixed my symptoms?

Thanks in advance, Julian

My Story - 28yo Male - Skin Issues

I have been getting a rash/flare up on my face which started on my nose (over a year ago) and has spread slightly to cheeks and other random marks. I was told by the doctors it is ‘Rosacea’. Was on multiple creams and antibiotics for a while until eventually giving up as it wasn’t going to go away with this approach would just make it better temporarily. I was then recommended to an allergy test company who determined and I have lots of slight intolerances as well as candida overgrowth and leaky gut.

I was told to go on a strict candida diet for a month whilst taking saccharomyces cerevisiae boulardii daily and then after the month 3 times a week for 10 weeks. After the month I can introduce other foods etc but limit to 20% of my diet.

Firstly I have seen lots of people post and majority have lots of issues I don’t have like fatigue etc, mine is literally just facial flare/rash and slightly bloated.

Being a month in I initially saw some great improvement but recently has flared up more but I understand it can take some time to fully repair and heal.

Few questions; Is this diet overall for life or once candida overgrowth has been sorted and no symptoms, will my intolerances also of improved and I can be more relaxed in general (will generally live a healthier lifestyle)

What does 20% mean? How do I calculate this?

Is this definitely candida overgrowth if I don’t have any other symptoms really and maybe it is rosacea? Although I’m keen to deny this due to being a 28 yr old male and do not want a chronic condition on my face.

Is it good to reintroduce other foods or is it better to stick to a strict diet as long as possible?

Will my skin fully heal and if I maintain a healthy lifestyle, stay that way and not come back?

I really want to get rid of this horrible condition, get my looks back and live a normal life. Is this possible?!

Could this be from candida overgrowth?

I've been experiencing horrible, crippling GI symptoms for over half a year now. Constant nausea 24/7, bloating, I'm never hungry, stomach pain, constipation, etc. To top it all off I'm also emetophobic so everytime i experienced any stomach pain or especially nausea, i start panicking. I've been to so many doctors and have had some tests done (endoscopy, CT scan, allergy tests) but none of them showed anything. I'm absolutely terrified of having gastroparesis, a lot of my symptoms line up with it and like i said I'm emetophobic and i would literally rather die than throw up, so that's like a nightmare diagnosis for me.

transmission

hi there, i was diagnosed with oral thrush about a week ago and have been taking nystatin 5 times daily. the thrush has gone down significantly, (almost gone) but i still have a little bit of white coating on my tongue. i started seeing someone recently and was wondering if i were to kiss him if i would transmit the thrush to him? i definitely don’t want that to happen but i was just wondering. thank you :)

Read the the caption ⬇️

I had unprotected sex and oral sex, suddenly I had severe stomach cramps with fever. Then a slight jaundice started in my eyes, shortly afterwards I felt nauseous and had no appetite. At some point I felt like I had a permanent cold, my eyes started to turn blood red and my bowel habits changed. Later the glans started to burn and it was inflamed, and it was painful when I urinated. Suddenly I had beer-brown urine and pressure in my right upper abdomen. Weeks later I had severe conjunctivitis and pressure on my eyes. I was tested for all sexually transmitted diseases, all negative, but for whatever reason my hepatitis B vaccination reacted incorrectly, which is why my eyes are slightly yellow, but the hepatologist says everything is OK in terms of my liver values. A fungus was also diagnosed in my intimate area (Candida albicans), whereupon the gastroenterologist tested me for Sibo/sifo,(Helicobacter pylori negative) which also came back positive. A thrush slowly started to develop on my tongue in my mouth. And a bowel health check was done because no matter what I eat, I am constantly bloated, I have a lot of vitamin deficiencies and the zonulin is very high. I also have constant cravings for sugar and no matter what creams I use, the yeast infection doesn't go away. And the Docs won't believe me it might got systemetic.

Coconut oil die off

I’ve noticed similar symptoms the last two times I took (ate) coconut oil (and also this time I took oregano oil a few hours before coconut). I ate it in the evening and the day after I’m having extreme brain fog, nausea, kind of unrest and anxiety, hands shaking and also trouble in fine manipulation with my hands (for example I have to make an effort typing letters on my laptop), I don’t just feels weird, like my hands are a bit stiff. Last time I was also depressed and cried a lot. Has anyone experienced this? I’m freaking out that I might have early symptoms of multiple sclerosis (I’m guessing that could also be the candida-caused anxiety)
