Everything about lorises!

Everything about lorises!

Attention:

The slow loris in Indonesia is under serious threat of extinction as a result of habitat loss and the illegal trade for pets and for traditional medicine. The Javan slow loris is included in the category of ‘endangered’ species on the IUCN Red List and named as one of the 25 most endangered primates in the world.

Slow lorises are very popular with tourists because of how cute they are, and are in turn often sold to them by cruel poachers. This is the main reason slow lorises have such a fast declining population. Most people do not have the proper things to raise these animals, nor do they know how to.

The poachers that these tourists often buy from torture these animals and hurt them by removing their teeth and exposing them to light to much. They are nocturnal and they should be treated that way. We do NOT endorse the selling or buying of lorises. You are NOT fit to raise them and no matter how cute they are, it is never worth hurting the animal and reducing the population.

For more information, look here and here.

It's okay to appreciate how cute they are, but it it not a good idea to have one as a pet.
