A while back, there was a discussion about pony names here.
I'm going to put my suggestions for other names and see if anyone has input.
Equestria - la xirselgug (horse-inhabited country)
Canterlot - la kamxirlot (a horse related pun on Camelot; pay no attention to the fact that it means horse-boat-ness)
Ponyville - la xirnumtcad (horse-town)
Everfree Forest - la ze'ezif noi ricfoi (the forever-free which is a forest)
Celestia - la trutan or la trusol (depending on whether we want to stick to the original more closely or work off the fact that there's no good name to do with "solar" in English)
Luna - la lur (rafsi for "moon")
Nightmare Moon - la poi se tepsne lur
Seems interesting. I'd like to hear your thoughts on why or why not. Examples why sentences are better in this language also interest me.
So someone created a fu'ivla {flatrcai} for Fluttershy. This is wrong for multiple reasons.
There should never be a selbri for a unique entity. The gloss "x1 is Fluttershy" invites the usage {lo flatrcai}, but "Fluttershy" is a proper name and should use {la}.
"Fluttershy" is meant to be meaningful, rather than just a series of sounds, so what we really want is a translation, not a transcription.
Puns are difficult to translate, but luckily {toldi} "butterfly" and {toldarsi} "shy" have most of their letters in common, and names are unusually morphologically flexible. Perhaps {la .toldris.}?
While I'm at it:
