glitch production tricks?

anyone got simple tricks to share? like a quick glitch jolt through the whole mix, anything that can be done with built in plug ins? I really do not like using Distortion plug ins, too sensitive to tinker with. Something that will like fragment the entire mix for a moment then bring it back together, maybe a multi band compressor with long release on the whole mix for just a moment? brainstorming thread

Some glitchy percussions over ambient arpeggios in the modular

Here’s a live jam on the modular synth I think has its place in this community. Starts ethereal with melodic fm sounds drenched in verb and delay and beat and granular stuff kicks in around 1’ Hope you enjoy 😊

Is this a genre?

So something I do often is create songs in my head, and something I've got at the moment is a fast paced IDM breakbeat thing that centres around a sample from a 70 sounding soul song. Is there stuff like this out there? If so, please let me know.

There is a lack of harmony in most of the popular acts associated with this genre

The stuff I'm recommended on here isn't danceable and the songs lack narrative. They have no direction, the sounds might be innovative or different but not necessarily pleasant. What Jackson &HCB did with his music, as well as where French Electronic ended up going over the last couple decades is a more practical representation of this genre. On an innovative level for the sake of it I understand the appeal but from a straightforward musical perspective I do not. The techniques created through this genre are great for amplifying dance music but as a standalone, I don't understand.

looking for feedback, what did you like, what didn't you like, want to push my music to the next level, my IDM influence is mainly Jackson &HCB, not interested in unorthodox sound design for the sake of it, I prefer to use it as an aspect of my harmonization as opposed to being the centerpiece

Get Your Music Featured in a Curated Playlist!

Hey Reddit,

Are you an artist looking to get your music heard by new listeners? I’m offering the opportunity to feature your track in a curated playlist that highlights fresh, diverse sounds. Whether you’re aiming for visibility or a spot in the higher ranks, there’s room for your music to shine.

Space is limited, and I believe in being upfront with artists: if I ever feel that monetization risks compromising the playlist’s identity, I’ll stop accepting new submissions. Now is the perfect time to secure your spot!

Disclaimer:

While I strive to curate and promote the playlist to connect your music with the right audience, it’s important to clarify:

  • No Guaranteed Streams or Results Playlist inclusion does not guarantee a specific number of streams, followers, or engagement. Listener behavior is organic and depends on their preferences and interests.
  • No Algorithmic Boost Promises I cannot promise improved algorithmic placement or exposure on Spotify beyond what happens naturally through listener engagement.
  • Fair and Transparent Practices Contributions are used to support playlist maintenance, curation, and promotional efforts. They do not involve any artificial manipulation of streams or data.

By joining the playlist, you are supporting a curated and ethical space for music discovery. My goal is to provide a meaningful opportunity for exposure within the music community while maintaining transparency and ethical standards.
