Also known as "Bristol Sound" it was the name given to down-tempo electronic music in the 90s.

looking to be put into that intense trance-like state of being lol, thanks :)
Edit: You guys are incredible, thank you thank you
So in mid-late September, I was introduced to trip hop by this girl I hooked up with (very fitting), who made me play Angel. And I gotta say, this has been monumental for me, I didn't know I could enjoy music this much. Apparently my bestie knew about Portishead but she didn't tell me for some reason?? Massive Attack and Tricky are going to be on my spotify wrapped at this point, according to last.fm they are my 4th and 3rd top artists this year.
It scratches some musical itch I never knew I had, it's so perfect.
So good
Another cool song in a trip hop fashion from a non Trip-Hop album/artist
Hey everyone - just wanted to share my latest Bristol Manor album drop "Nightlife". Back with more of my "uptempo downtempo" as Tim from the old Discord blog used refer to it. I call it trip-hop, downtempo, chillout grooves. Please give it a listen and let me know what you think.
I used NS2 for all tracks again. As far as apps: For synths & sounds I often used Bleass Megalit & Sampewhiz, King of FM & Digital, SM2, Lowtone, Flowtone, iElectric, Factory, Magellan2, Trooper, & Twin3, & Obsidian (plus several others spinkled in). For effects: Outer Space, Dubstation, Punchlab (on most drum tracks) Kd7 delay, Bleass Motion FX & Delay, plus a few more I'm forgetting, along with the built-in NS2 effects which are pretty decent. Afterwards, light mastering done in Adobe Audition.

I hope this hits t a spot for you.
Yeah yeah, 25th anniversary, everybody feels old. The re-release of this album has been expanded to 3xCD and 6xLP and now includes the 11 minute K&D remix of Madonna’s “Nothing Really Matters”.
I don’t anticipate the vinyl box set will stick around for long.
Found this while listening to some Industrial compilation albums
She's always had a great voice. It matches so well with these beats.
Since it’s evolved so much 🎶🎵 what would you say are the sub genres of trip hop/your favourite genres? I struggle putting them into words tbh 😅.
