I'm trying to set up links to specific locations in Google Earth Web, but the web interface seems to have a particularly annoying and unhelpful feature, in that it automatically loads the last location you were looking at NO MATTER WHAT link you used to get to Google Earth Web.
For instance, I want to send someone to this location from an outside web page and have constructed the following link to get there: https://earth.google.com/web/search/47.2917539952200,2.9505877838643 -- (It's a spot in the Loire Valley of France). But if you have a cookie from Google Earth in your browser, when you click that link you will instead be brought to a view of whatever you were last looking at on Google Earth).
If for some reason you have recently cleared your cookies, the link will function as expected and you'll end up zooming into that specific location.
MY QUESTION: Is there some way to construct a query string or link that overrides this lame default functionality of Google Earth Web?
It seems rather counterproductive for the web interface to be designed this way, as it makes deep linking to locations basically impossible.
Hello, is there a possibility if kml is under ther woods? i use google earth studio and cant see my kml if i get near to it. i think it is hidden under the trees but i cant turn off 3d woods and cant bring the track higher
I open Google Earth on my computer, and I get an error message "cannot connect to server at kh.google.com". Online, all webpages are working normally, so the issue is not that I don't have internet access.
Then, I go to the Google Earth web version, and it loads, but comes up all blue.
I uninstall and reinstall the program, and even try different versions, but the same error message occurs. I reboot my computer and even that does not work.
Anyone know what is going on?
I have a Macintosh computer with the latest system version.
Basically the title.
Additional info:
I use Nova Launcher, and just in case there is some region-specific fuckery, I live in S. Korea and my phone is the "Korean model" bought in Korea
I need to generate a grid in Google Earth where each square is 5 minutes in size (latitude/longitude). The total area is a rectangle that’s 105 minutes wide and 85 minutes high. I plan to use QGIS for this since I need each square to be an individual polygon so I can toggle their visibility in Google Earth. Is there a way to do this? Is QGIS the appropriate software?
How does one add coordinates to the bottom corner of the screen on the ios Google earth app? Only coordinates I can currently get to show up are from having the grid lines on or by dropping a pin. I would like coordinates on screen at all times like I used to have it.
I created a project in Google Earth Pro, then added images to placemarks in Google Earth Web. Now the file seems to be too large to export (no warnings, just that smaller projects export but this one freezes and nothing downloads). Is there any work around to this? Any way I could save this to my drive or a way to force the file to export? Any suggestions appreciated!
Found a weird dot on 89°01'12"S 122°01'28"E
I was on it and it randomly crashed
How? and why? and who?.... are my main questions.
The hardware stores... okay, some crappy advertising.. but this 55°00'50"S 14°56'21"W .. i have questions...
Hello,
I'm a complete Google Earth N00b. I've been handed a KMZ file which contains a map of the UK's parliament constituencies . The problem I have is that not all of them have been put in. I have a couple of areas which haven't been marked up but are entirely surround by other areas - I don't want to draw a polygon by hand as this will be too long a task with the uneven border and I want something that touches the border of the other elements so that no part of the country is left out or falls into two regions. Is there a tool, I'm thinking like the old paint bucket in Paintbrush, which will allow me to select all the empty space and make it a new polygon, or some other way of quickly and neatly filling this in?
bonus question - I have a couple of similar area which are bounded by the sea, so not entirely surrounded by other polygons, can anything be done there?
Hi there, I'm a big Google Earth user and constantly loading new satellite imagery and annotating with various folders for different projects. By default I've been creating tons of super overlays which often end up overloading my computer and requiring restarts. Also it seems that I'll run out of drive space eventually. Is there an alternative here that allows for storing dozens of layers of satellite imagery that won't task my system so much?
Please explain to me why this looks like Hades with condemned souls floating around?
Hi and sorry if this isn't the place to ask this question but I'm used to seeing hurricanes on Google earth. This time I see plenty of clouds but looks it's not current...and definitely no sight of an eyewall

I find it weird that Beirut satellite view shows the sides of buildings, I've only ever seen direct view of roofs only while browsing the globe..
Wonder if it's anything to do with limited satellite coverage over the middle east
Hi - Not sure if this is the correct sub, but I'm looking to create a feature for a site where you can put in your address, get the 45 degree angle, then isolate your home and yard so the surrounding environment and homes are removed. Appreciate any feedback.
well, I'm on Google Earth and I've uploaded a route. then a red line appeared and next to it, a bunch of markings written P-number. However, these markings pollute the screen too much and make it difficult for me to see my own markings. How do I get this P-number?
I am just trying to visualize different areas across a city. I want to use basic shapes, circles or whatever, to outline different areas of the city in different colours.
Is this easily possible with Google earth? It doesnt need to be super accurate, but from what i am reading I have to make custom XML files for everything manually.
If that is the case, is there an alternative I might look for?
Hope I am allowed to ask some questions, didnt see anything in the sidebar that says not to.
I don't understand how this isn't more common of a problem I literally have looked everywhere on the internet and absolutely nothing is similar and none of the fixes I've read have worked. I have switched to both DirectX and OpenGL, no change. I have disabled atmosphere. I cleared all cache. I turned off anisotropic filtering. I can't delete my places cause its for an assignment but it shouldn't be an issue because even before I added it to my places this issue still came up. Any ideas that doesn't involve coding would be great, half of my searches came up with a bunch of code that I literally don't know what to do with.
I have been trying to find a way to transfer saved pins/places in Google Maps to implement them into Google Earth. I can do so manually, but is there a way to import the data? All I can find when searching this are posts about importing to Google Maps from Google Earth, whilst I'm after the opposite!
Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you!
