Glyphosate - a roundup of glyhposate herbicides and other pesticides and GMO it is used with in farming, gardening, weeds, and food.
The Glyphosate Reddit
Glyphosate - a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide and crop desiccant. It is an organophosphorus compound, specifically a phosphonate. It is used to kill weeds, especially annual broadleaf weeds and grasses that compete with crops. It was discovered to be an herbicide by Monsanto chemist John E. Franz in 1970.[3] Monsanto brought it to market in 1974 under the trade name Roundup, and Monsanto's last commercially relevant United States patent expired in 2000. Wikipedia: glyphosphate

Help please. I finally used some glyphosate on a Virginia Creeper growing vigorously under a bunch of azaleas. After a 10 year long fight I was loosing. I disentangled the vine, pulled it out of the azaleas, and sprayed the whole vine after placing it on my garden trash lid. Did this in 3 vines. Wondering if I could now put the treated foliage in a newspaper plastic sleeves for a week or if Round up will disintegrate the plastic and damage whatever plants are nearby. Can someone advise?
I have a tulip bed that has become infested with quackgrass. Glyphosate will kill the weeds. If I spray the weeds, will the tulip bulbs be hurt? I've raked out the dried/dead tulip leaves and stalks.
For humans and dogs, what are, according to scientific analysis, considered harmful exposure methods other than eating sprayed items? Unsafe exposure time and amount limits? Should my dog and I avoid the grass out here?
I unfortunately rent a place where owners spray Roundup and other chemicals once a year. They don't want to use vinegar, soap and salt solution because according to them it doesn't work as good. No option to move just yet either.
I have urged my (condominium) neighbors to stop using Roundup as we share parking areas, walkways, and have dogs and cats that browse the entire property.
Yesterday, my neighbor was spraying Bioadvanced everywhere. Said neighbor has good intentions but is senile and never does his own due diligence.
I can’t find any info online as it relates to glyphosate being present in Bioadvanced weed killer. Can someone please point me in the direction of this information? And info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
I wanted to share some things on how to reduce a person’s body burden of glyphosate, which is well-documented to disrupt the microbiome, neurotransmitter balance, and create mineral imbalances, such as with manganese [6].
First off, how much is the average person being exposed to glyphosate?
Glyphosate is in widespread use as a desiccant on wheat, corn, soy, oats, and legumes. This and the fact that over 300 million pounds are sprayed each year in the US [1], which is almost a pound per person. It’s found in many wine brands (very high levels in California wines,) beers, honey, in the water table, the list goes on. A study done by the CDC found over 80% of Americans sampled had detectable levels of glyphosate in their urine [7].
However, here are three strategies that are immensely effective for reducing your burden of it:
(1) Eat Organic
It is illegal for to use glyphosate on organic produce. Even though one may still find residues of it in organic, the levels are often far lower than conventional produce.
(2) Introduce Fulvic/Humic Acids, such as Shilajit
Humic acids have been show to bind to glyphosate, allowing it to be eliminated from the body [2]. Fulvic/Humic acids have been shown to detoxify other pesticides as well, and as an added bonus, they supplement various minerals & improve nutrient absorption from food by making various nutrients more bioavailable [3]. If you are getting Shilajit, which is naturally high in Fulvic/Humic acids, make sure you get a brand that is third party tested, such as Pure Himalayan Shilajit.
(3) Glycine
Glyphosate is a synthetic analog of the amino acid Glycine, meaning it is very similar in structure and can be incorporated into proteins in the place of glycine. This is part of glyphosate’s mechanism of damage, as it’s incorporation into various proteins causes them to misfold, leading to various downstream effects [4]. Supplementing glycine can help prevent the body storing glyphosate in proteins as a result. Glycine has also been shown to support glutathione production, gut wall integrity, and liver function [5]. I’ve seen this combination produce massive improvements in people, and it helped me personally eliminate my decade long gluten-intolerance issues. I hope it helps you too!
