Hi everyone! I’m in the process of creating a beauty brand and would love to have your input.
If you could take a few minutes to answer a quick survey I put together, I would really appreciate it.
The link is https://djz7m2aqqsi.typeform.com/to/fPElwbcO?typeform-source=www.google.com
I’m striving to build a community centered brand around real people’s needs and opinions. I highly value and appreciate your input.
Thank you!!
Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to find good hair products for about a year now with no luck. My hair is very fine, oily, and straight but maybe with a bit of wave to it (it’s hard to tell). I need products to help with the oiliness and to give it more volume and wave.
The "how to:"
7.Apply formulas with cuticle stick or spatula (not a qtip), more control 8. Apply fomula only onto the "bend" not to the tips, your curl will detatch. If you want a curlier lash apply higher up 9. If any drips onto lashline use a qtip to swipe away 10. Apply plastic wrap. It will keep your lashes shape and help the formula stay wet which keeps it processing 11. You can apply a tint directly after if desired. Lashes will be more porous -- less processing time 12. Remove with mineral oil - prefer this instead of included oil since it is cosmetically inert. It's chance of inducing any allergic reactions is almost zero, there are no perfumes etc.
Things that can affect the longevity of your curl:
*Health of your eyelashes: wait 6- 8 weeks between processes
*Tension: wearing falsies or extensions a lot, your sleep mask, get a molded one
*Using oil based mascara or eyelash products -- apparently( no one has given me a scientific reason for this)
Edit: this saves me over $150 every other month or so
No stores near me have hair that I could go in person to match to my color, but I really want to get some clip in or halo extensions to give my thin, limp hair some volume at my wedding this June.
So, I'm looking online.
I figured maybe someone here would have suggestions? I have no idea where to start aside from wanting real hair that can be heat treated and dyed if if doesn't properly match. I don't even know how many inches I want, but ideally around nipple length if that helps 🙈 maybe a bit longer.
So many options on Amazon and the free returns make them tempting, has anyone had good experiences ordering there?
Thanks in advance!!!
As you already know there are quite a few really good options out there for when you have really dry skin.
Aquaphor
Lanolips
Lanisoh
So as you've tested the active ingredient in all of these is lanolin. If this is something that really works well for you, you can easily get a jar of lanolin at your local chemist for about half the price of one of the mini tubes of this stuff.
So long as you don't mind feeling a little greasy this stuff is excellent for all kinds of dry skin patches.
Good luck!

Hello! I recently launched a website called glitzher.com. The website allows shoppers to enter the name of a cosmetic item and see if there is a better price at brands such as amazon.ca, sephora.ca, thebay.ca, well.ca, and shoppersdrugmart.ca.
Currently we track about 12 thousand products across the Canadian retailer brands listed above. We mostly track products in the makeup/skincare category but we are working to expand to other categories and brands. Tell me what you think!
I have trichotillomania
🖤
(I copied this from my posts in groups associated with my disorder of trichotillomania) For anyone wondering trichotillomania is a disorder by definition - “a compulsive desire to pull out one's hair.”
A disorder that involves recurrent, irresistible urges to pull out body hair. The urges involve pulling out hair from the scalp, eyebrows, or other areas of the body
I have the type where I pull from my scalp. It’s a form of ocd. I also suffer from panic/anxiety and this disorder has greatly affected my daily life and self esteem. Since loosing my wigs I barely want to leave my house. I often avoid looking in the mirror out of shame and just feel disgusting /disgusted with myself... I really wish I could “just stop” as many have told me but like many other disorders and habits/addictions it’s not that easy. Anyways here is the post copy and pasted just wanted to write a bit before hand to those who might not be aware of the disorder. Thanks for reading ! :)
*plus thought it would ok to broaden my story since I’m looking for advice on wigs and wigs have become more popular now a days in beauty and just as a fun way to change up your look or cosplay whatever regardless if you have trich/hair disorders or not so I figure any advice is v appreciated! Thank you :)
So I’ve suffered with trich since I was a teenager, I’m now 26years old... my mother had it and growing up I watched her pull her hair out. It didn’t get bad until 2018 when I suffered a very traumatic experience and began pulling.. I ended up finally buying a wig after I had done so much damage, and finally shaved for the first time about 7 months ago. Shaving has been a huge relief for me and pulling. It’s truly freeing. Anyone who is wondering about shaving it truly has been the one thing that has saved me from the chains of trich. Every time I’ve shaved I tell myself that I’m going to let it grow and that is my intention... until it starts to grow out and then the cycle begins again :( anyway I’m in need of help/advice for wigs. I cannot really afford human hair right now... I met this wonderful girl at my mental health center I go to, and she was wonderful enough to actually donate me wigs that were gently used. (She was the first person I met who also suffered from trich and also alopecia) she quit a few months ago and so I wore the wigs out to the point of no fixing them... I thought it would be smart to buy a wig that was more expensive at a local wig store so I spent my last 60$ on what I thought was a very nice wig and within not even a week it knots almost immediately after wearing it!! I’ve brushed it so many times it literally split down the middle 😢 to the point of not being wearable!! I don’t know what to do... my boyfriend tried to help me fix it and attached zip ties to it😂😂 I will post a pic later it’s so funny but really not because I can’t wear it really without a hat and I have a beanie you can see the zip ties through it, it also is just a MESS! We’re waiting on his second and third stimulus still and as of now he’s looking for a job and I’m not working due to some personal issues and mental health stuff. So I don’t have the money to get a new one right away.. I don’t want to get in trouble by asking if anyone would be willing to possibly donate any of their used wigs they don’t wear anymore to me by any chance ? I know it’s kind of rude but maybe if anyone on here has any they aren’t really wearing anymore it would appreciated, and for whenever I do get the money to invest in a wig if anyone has some suggestions for wigs on Amazon or certain brands of wigs that may be better than others.. thank you so much!!! Prayers that everyone is staying safe and taking care of their mental health and staying strong! It’s been a tough year but we got this😎 I truly am so grateful for this trich community!! I honestly watched my mom suffer in silence and still to this day she does and as well when I tell people they don’t understand or get why I can’t just not pull my hair, plus they’ve never heard of it. It just reminds me I’m not alone! I appreciate all of you! Thanks for taking the time to read! -M

I hope this post is allowed, I just got off iherb.com and then compared their Sierra Bees (natural & evidence based formulas, no concerning ingredients, beeswax based) products to other prices. The lip balms (olive oil & beeswax plus, incl some formulas w/ expensive oils) are $1 each max (the trial 8-pack was $2 first time). The bumpy road salve (arnica, comfrey, EOs) is $2 rn and I have found it truly effective, and I am a forage-in-the-woods type, so always bruised. If you are looking for botanical beauty/health products, and are as frugal as me, these are worth a try. I can't even make them for these prices. And I love that the salves come in reusable metal tins, instead of plastic, but are still priced around $2-5, and have been more effective than those from more well known companies. The salves are good dupes for Badger, if you are familiar, but a bit less sticky.
Packaging is simple, cute, & not as overdone as most, I appreciate them for not wasting my money on excessive design costs. I really don't believe in "stanning" companies, lol, but I am really appreciative that they keep their regular prices low enough for those without higher incomes.
I’m not sure if people will see this but right now and only today, Ulta is having free shipping no matter the price you spend and it’s just for today. Also they have a 10 off of 50$ and a 3.50 off of 15$ so if you’re interested please go check it out :)!! Have a nice day!!!
Do you notice a difference between the brands?
Which is the best? I have combo/dry skin with acne.
