Does anyone’s clean hair become greasy after using heat?

I have low porosity slightly wavy hair, and when this happened before I guessed I was using a heavy shampoo? But I have switched to Trader Joe’s tee tree shampoo which has minimal ingredients, i shampoo twice with it and when I rinse it out my hair has an almost squeaky sound which I believed means it’s really clean. It takes forever to air dry so I used low heat instead of the normal cool setting I use and my hair became oily so fast—my hair became greasy after 1-2 days when it usually takes 3-4. Anyone know why?

Edit: my hair also acts like this when I use a straightener, blow out brush, or curling iron :(

Teeth whitening strips causing extremely irritating side effects!?

So aside from the teeth sensitivity I get, which I can handle, I have noticed that the day after I use strips for the first time in a while everything has a ‘nails on chalkboard’ feel to it.

For example, I HATE accidentally brushing up against drywall. I also hate washing my hands with paper towels. So really anytime I touch (or even think about touching) a rough-ish surface, the sensation really irks me.

The longer I continuously use strips the worse these sensations feel. They usually go away within a week when I stop using the strips, though.

Anyone else have this problem? It really is driving me crazy.

Any tips for a younger with a round ahh face(I'm turning 15 this month which is why I didn't share a picture but I try my best to describe my self)

So, I have a round-looking face, kinda oval-looking with a big forehead. I have long hair (male); I normally put it in a ponytail, and it reaches just past my shoulders when it's not tied. I have a lot of acne, blackheads, and dry skin. I'm 5'8" and very skinny (can't afford a gym). If I need to start exercising, please recommend some exercises.

Face tanner for a guy?

All my life I’ve been super pale, what can I use on my face that can give me a subtle face tan without it looking blotchy and orange? And since I’m a guy if it’s easy and quick to use that’s even better

What's the max. amount of beauty retreat services you should book?

Would it annoy the staff if you booked like 3-5 services? I know it depends on how long each treatment/service is too, but how many should be the maximum that you book? I'm trying to go all out but can't do more than one visit in a week. I just don't want to be an inconvenience (even though it's their job).

Peach fuzz!

Well, here goes…I (64F) need to rid my face of nasty peach fuzz. I’m on testosterone for hormone therapy, and have been taking Biotin for hair care. I have dark hairs both on my arms and face, and the face hair needs to go. I have purchased some precision facial razors, but don’t know how to use them. QR code seemed to suggest you just scrape along taut skin. Suggestions please!! Thx.

My skin is glowing on its own for the first time since I was a teenager.

Backstory- I am/was extremely dehydrated for half a decade. Dehydration headaches were common my entire college experience, I would have at best one standard small cup of water a day. No tea, coffee, juice, or any other drink. The reason is because I simply don’t get thirsty as I normally should. I’ll ask a doc about it someday bc it really impacted my health. Might be a thyroid issue idk.

I started recently for the past two weeks forcing myself to drink water thanks to the help of an app that sets daily reminders. I now drink around 2-3 liters a day.

My skin, for the first time in 5-6 years, is actually glowing on its own in the mornings, moist and soft, with zero product applied.

Previously, I would use a lot of moisturizer to make up for my lack of hydration, but I’ve stopped for the past few days to make sure it wasn’t that, or my sunscreen. Lo and behold, I have my soft, shiny skin again just from chugging hella water all day. It’s actually so crazy to me because I thought I would remain super dry-faced till old age, and it also made my makeup crack really easily. Foundation separating, skin flaking, feeling like sandpaper, lips chapped and bleeding often. But not anymore.

I still hate water, but even then, now I can’t go back to the way I was before. PLEASE Remember to drink!!!!

Irregularities temple filler

Hi, I had temple filler 5 days ago and I can see irregularities on my skin. Will this go away naturally? How long can it take? I’m already doing massages to smooth it.

Thanks

Expired Lancôme lotion ???

I’ve had this unopened bottle of Lancôme energie de vie “smoothing and plumping pearly lotion” for literally probably 5 years. My aunt kept buying me Lancôme products a few years ago for a birthday and a graduation. I got two of these bottles of lotion.

One I threw out because it was opened for a long time (probably 3 years) and I never used it because I didn’t know what it was for or what it did for me. It feels like a toner, but it says it’s a lotion? Okay?

But I kept the unopened bottle because it looked like a nice product and I thought maybe I’d eventually use it.

Does anyone know what it’s for? Would it still be good to use five years later? It looks normal. Or is it useless and should I throw it out?

Any naturally skinny girls manage to put on weight and get curves? Is it possible to gain 20 lbs in 2 months?

I’m super thin right now, 5’2 104 lbs bmi of 19 so a little bit underweight. Im trying to get to a healthy weight because I’m tired of looking like a 12 y.o. Boy when I’m in my mid 30s lol. It’s always something I’ve felt bad about. I’m so jealous of the curvy ladies with boobs, thighs and ass, they look like mature women! Like fertility goddesses.

I’ve been going to the gym and lifting weights but I’ve only managed to gain a few pounds so far. How have you other underweight girls managed to pack on the pounds? I want to feel good about myself this summer :( I’m trying to gain like 30-40 lbs total but am hoping to get my weight up by a lot over the next few months. Also I cut out a lot of junk food and have been eating clean, so preferably healthy food suggestions 😊

Waxing at home?

Hi all 🥰

Ive waxed at home before usually using sugar wax and strips, and melting the wax in the microwave. I dont have a microwave anymore, and Im wondering what everyones favourite at home waxing products are?

Ive used the strips before (with wax already on them) and they just break my hair and have never fully pulled them out. Are there other options/advice for this?

Im looking to wax my legs btw if this helps!!

Thank you!

Tinted sunscreen hack

I’m embarrassed how long it took me to figure out that I can mix my sunscreen and foundation together for a sheer look. Tinted sunscreen shades have always been a little orange or just “off” on my skin tone. What’s funny is I’ve done this with moisturizer but for some reason never thought of alternating with sunscreen. So far I’ve only tried using Biore Aqua as a base but I’m curious if it works with others.

Method: I applied a normal amount of sunscreen on first and let it set, then add a little more on my palm and mixed in a drop of foundation. Then add a tiny bit more foundation in spots to conceal.

I am floored with how the texture and color turns out! So ready for summer.

Are there lady parts “barbers”?

Not sure if this is the best sub but here I am. So I’m wondering if there are “barbers” for lady parts. Of course I know there are estheticians who do waxing and can give you different bald shapes, cuts, etc. But what I’m wanting to know are there estheticians who would just trim the hair down. I don’t like the full baldness you get from waxing. I’d just like an even trim all over with the one guard or something. And then probably still wax the inner thighs and stomach to give me clean edge lines if that makes sense.

I know at home manscaping/ladyscaping tools exist. But I honestly I’d prefer to just pay someone else rather than trying to learn myself. So my question: does this kind of service exist? Is it something I could ask for at any regular waxing place? Or do I need to look for a specialty place? If there are specialty places, what would I search in google to find places near me? Also if you’re in ATL and already know places that offer this type of service please feel free to share! :)

What nail service should I get?

So I used to be a nail biter, and to stop the habit I would get the tips & pink and white powder acrylics. I haven't gotten them done in a long time & have natural longish nails for the first time in my life. I've been able to keep them long and just paint them at home. I'd love to get my nails done again but I don't know what service I'd need. I want to do more than them just putting polish on but I don't need the tips & everything. My nails are about as long as they would be with the acrylics on. What service do you suggest?

How come my hair starts to feel dead every time I grow it out?

Every time I grow out my hair, it starts to feel completely dead and it doesn’t add any volume to my hair (basically drags it down). I always have to trim like 1 1/2 - 2 inches off.

It’s like my hair isn’t capable of getting long. I’m a little confused about what I should do? I don’t even add heat like ever to it. Blow dry if necessary.

I try oils, hair masks, not washing it for time, I use a water filter for my shower.

Is there anything else I should try?

Advice on Bad Highlights

Need some advice. I recently got highlights it’s the first time I ever dyed my hair and wanted to get an almost balyage hair style. The lady told me I could achieve this look by doing blonde highlights. However, after just a few washes it turned completely gray and my ends look fried. How should I fix it? And do you think it’s worth asking the lady to fix it? I’m scared she’s going to make it worse :(

New to self tanning

I have been using the b.tan tanning foam, (it’s also the only kind I’ve tried) and I noticed it fades patchy. Like on day 2-3 the crook of my arms will be completely gone and it leaves this weird diamond shape pale spot on my arm. It also happens on the back of my knees and armpits. I’ve tried sort of filling it in between fully reapplying it and it doesn’t work. Then when I end up fully reapplying there’s still a paler section in those spots because it faded so much faster. Does this happen with every self tan or is there better self than that doesn’t do this? I’m new to self tanning so any advice would help.

Crest 3d white strips

Hey guys, I want your advice about Crest 3d white strips, do the strips give a satisfying result? What’s the difference between them and the professional whitening? And which one is better? How long does the whitening last? Also what’s the meaning of the level and which level should be used?
