For style advice and product recommendations, please be sure to include the type of hair you have and condition it's in, as well as the whole overall look you are trying to accomplish. For color advice: include things like whether or not the hair has been dyed before, and if so with what and how many times, and a picture! If you're not comfortable using your own picture, we would advise for you to use a celebrity hair color or style picture when describing a desired style, at least, for better advice! We highly suggest using imgur.com to upload images.
If you don't know how to describe a haircut to the stylist then take the picture to him/her. It's always much better than explaining.

I just got my first perm a few days ago and I was wondering is it bad I rinse my hair in the morning to get rid of the bed hair even though I showered the night before? How often should I shampoo and condition? And days I don’t shampoo and condition is it okay to rinse?
i take a shower and i go to sleep and when i wake up my hair is always a little or atleast a good bit greasy so i gotta wash it again. Im a dude, idk if that helps anything
I am a 22 y/o F and I have thick, long and straight hair. I am also 6 months pregnant so when I get home from work, I’ve just been wanting to shower and go straight to bed but with my hair being the way it is, it takes forever to dry. I heard it’s not good for your hair to blow dry all the time and I also heard not to sleep with wet hair. With all this being said, what would be the best way to dry my hair with preferably little hassle if possible?
Thanks in advance for any helpful tips! 💕
ive been trying to grow my hair out for the past year and it finally got to shoulder length, all i wanted was a fringe/bangs and some long layers but i ended up with super short pixie cut, nothing like the pictures i showed. my goal was to keep growing my hair out until its just past my collarbones, but now its just below my ear
i have very bad eyesight and wasnt wearing my glasses so i couldnt tell how short she was making it until it was too late
ive been crying all day, i feel so ugly, ive had very short hair for the past 4 years and i really wanted to feel pretty with long hair for once and now i have to start all over again :(
Title is pretty self-explanatory. I'm a guy who has had long hair for a few years now, and I generally keep it in a bun when going about my day because I can't stand having hair in my face. But I currently have it cut to just past my head, and I like the length but I don't really know how to put it up - there's just not enough to hold in place with a tie. I've tried pins but they seem to just droop down and result in the same long hair with weights on the bottom. Any devices that work well for this purpose? Pic for reference
What is it, i see it everywhere but dont know what it ls (i feel dumb posting a roblox avatar)
Hello everyone! So basically I have really long hair as a boy, like it goes past my shoulders. And i'm thinking of getting a haircut soon, but i was wondering if i shouldn't go to a traditional barbers to get it cut? If so, where do i go to get the hair cut off?
I use texture powder, seasalt spray and hair spray every other day and sometimes i leave it overnight cause i cba to go shower. Will my hair be damaged or ruined if i left it overnight?.i shower in the morning
I’m East Asian and I recently got my hair bleached. I’ve never had it this light before, so just a couple questions:
Do I use purple shampoo EVERY time? Or every other time? I got mixed info from the stylists at the salon.
In the last couple of years (even before bleaching), I find my hair doesn’t get greasy for like 5 days now for some reason. My understanding is the less I wash the hair the better it’ll be for the colour, but sometimes I just want to water rinse it, is that fine or will it ruin my colour?
I was recommended by the stylist to use the stronger purple mask once a week. But since I only wash my hair about twice a week, should I maybe do the mask once every two weeks instead?
I want the ends eventually to be white (I guess platinum?) theoretically how many more lifts do you think it’ll take? I’ve lifted twice here.

#2 is the biggest question for me I guess, like if I just wash with water only, will it ruin my colour? Or better to do conditioner only in between washes?
Advice on static hair?? What products do you recommend? My hair is so staticky it’s annoying and it can hardly wear it down. TY!
I’ve had these installed 5 days ago and these are insanely itchy. After inspecting it’s like there is wire/plastic coming from the top?? Is this right? I think the wire/plastic is what’s causing the itching. I’m going back to the salon tomorrow to get them to sort this I can’t stand the itch!!!! Any advice???
I noticed a week or two before this part of my scalp felt dry and was itching and almost raised. So i spent a lot of time scratching it and kind if picking at it. But i never looked. Today i look in the mirror and this whole section of my head is like buzzed. Im kind of freaking out. Moved to a new place 2 months ago. I chalked it up to the water or something and got different shampoo all without ever looking at my scalp. Anybody had this before?
My hair is blue rn and kinda vibrant and freshly dyed, the colors are wonky and uneven so there's bright bright blue then dark blue then green and I really want to change it to a lighter brown but idk how easy that process would be. Can anyone give tips on how to achieve this safely? I can't stand the blue anymore.
Some background information: I have struggled for decades with my hair, I always had problems finding products that worked, had problems keeping my hair healthy from heat damage and basically my hair was just trouble growing out as it would damage easily.
During the pandemic, I stopped heat styling and my hair kind of repaired itself and I kept it curly. During this time, I started using Olaplex and the whole line became my holy grail. My hair is now extremely healthy.
Now that my hair is longer, as long as it’s ever been I’m noticing the curls don’t hold anymore. I started to straighten it once again but differently. I only use the revlon blow dryer brush, 2-3 times a week, I shampoo less often and I stopped using a hair straightener as the brush is enough.
I just got my hair done on Saturday and my hair dresser was kind of in a mood that day so that’s why I’m asking for a second opinion lol. She basically said my hair isn’t as dense as it was, but it’s still healthy. She said I should stop with the Olaplex since there is too much protein in those products but I looked it up and there isn’t protein in these products? I have also been using Hask’s keratin spray, she said I should lay off that as well because it’s double protein, my hair doesn’t need protein. Plus the blow drying isn’t helping it either it seems (I also wait until my hair is like 90% dry before blowing it out).
I just want to know what everyone else thinks. Is it the Olaplex? Is it the Hask? I see Hask also has a biotin spray, would that be better for me?
I've been trying to up my hair care routine, since I am very ignorant on how to do it properly.
My own hair is very brittle and well, looks kinda dead. So I've been doing my research, especially on Korean 10 step hair routine. I am not trying to follow it to the T, but it did open some questions.
Hair serum and hair oil! I cannot find the explanation if it's the same, but when I research it, like hair serum I get hair oil hits, and vice versa! Is it the same, but the term interchangable? If it's not, should I use first hair serum on my ends and then hair oil?
What about hair overnight lotion? It's supposed to be like body losion but for hair, but then when I search details I only get hits on overnight masks that are supposed to be rinsed out by the morning. Guys I am sooo confused.
And lastly, the scalp. Hair serum and oils dilemma again, I search for scalp serum and get rosemary oil results!
Please help me understand this! What is what?
I'm a male, 17, dark blonde-ish hair. It is very straight, stiff and thick, and there's A LOT of it. I don't want to have to fix my hair in the morning, and I mean it. I don't want any products in it. I want to wake up, maybe pull a brush through it, and it's done. Morning routine is tight as it is. Any ideas? I'm going to the hair dresser tomorrow btw.
I’ve been in the barbering industry for a bit now, around 2 years of education and around 7-8 months employment in 2 different barbershops and working retail alongside (which I’m not fond of) and I’ve decided to leave the industry. I have an anxiety disorder and for a while it’s been hindering my work. I really enjoyed barber school, although didn’t learn much due to not so great teaching. In my second year I was in quite a bad situation in a relationship which started to amplify my anxiety. Straight after finishing school I got a job in my first barbershop which I absolutely hated.
My boss was really nice but it just wasn’t a great place to work. The other barbers were terrible at cutting, so I didn’t take any training and done my own thing which hindered my growth, I had horrible canvases to work on because the other barbers gave customers bad cuts, I worked 9 hours and didn’t get a legal break-just had to eat and get back to work, was all walk ins and no appointments so got paid hourly which was good when the shop was quiet but when it was busy I felt overworked for how much I made in return, my boss would let people in 15 mins before close when there was already people waiting and rarely paid us to stay behind, the lighting was bad, my coworkers were so hard to get along with and it was just bad vibes. I left after 3/4 months because it was so hard to create good work there.
I left for an apprenticeship in a very good barbershop, where I actually have learned so much, the people are nice to be around, it is appointment based, more structure, talented barbers, an hour break and more. Although I think the positive change has confirmed it’s not the job for me. I struggle to get models in for training, the standard of work is so high, apprentice wages are hard to get by on, I have to wait on people cutting after hours to be able to clean and go home, which they benefit from money wise and I don’t,it will take a long time to be trained, build a clientele and earn good money I like this place so much but I think it’s not for me, nothing personal to them.
Aspects of the industry that made my decision: Time management, physical and emotional exhaustion at the end of every day, masking every day and constantly having to be switched on, annoying clients who think they know more than you and telling you how to do your job, people having no respect for time or boundaries, kids who don’t sit still or follow instructions, long hours, no PTO, lack of stable income.
I’m so burnt out and I feel like this industry isn’t great for my mental health. I don’t know what to do career wise instead but I feel like for me personally I’ll feel so much better after leaving the industry fully, has anyone else felt like this? If so what do you do for work now?
I just want to know what thid haircut is called
I'm a teenage girl with straight honey-blonde hair, a little shorter than halfway down my back. It's been this way most of my life. It's been shoulder-length at times, too, though that was back before the pandemic. I've never dyed it or anything like that before. I also have an undercut, if that matters.
Every morning when I wake up after showering, whether I get it wet or not, my hair is all staticky and sticks to everything: my face, my clothes, my hands if I hold them close enough! I can't dry it after my shower because I don't have my own hair dryer and I have to go to bed pretty soon after I step out of the shower. Is there anything I can do?
