We all know how you write a dating profile: keep it positive, and if you have problems, you try to write around them and hopefully still attract the right people. I'm going to try the opposite.

So I present a curated selection of red flags (saving some for later, obviously.)

Standard-size "potential" flags: I enjoy a wide variety of nerd-interests, I'm childfree, monogamous, a leftist, vaccinated, don't drink/don't smoke/don't do any recreational drugs, and I'm a cat guy (although I do enjoy adorable dogs.)

Extra-large red flags: I have a new(ish) chronic pain condition, and I'm neurodivergent, and that's on top of a variety of other more minor health stuff. There's nothing life-threatening (or even visible, necessarily), but it's still not the kind of information anyone's going to find attractive, so it stays off the regular profiles.

Oh, and worst of all, I must admit... I don't really care about hockey - which for a Canadian, is a huge red-and-white flag.

I have nihilistic and libertarian tendencies, I don't care what people do with their lives but that doesn't mean you're free from judgement or commentary. I'm constantly thinking that I must be insane since I can't see most people as individuals but as carbon copies of each other, but when I speak to people one-on-one I'm able to enjoy myself and engage in decent dialogue for the most part. I like to think I'm a pretty capable introvert but my preference is privacy.

A part of why I don't date or haven't dated in so long is because I don't really go out to meet people in general/casual settings and most of what I do are solo things like I mentioned. I just don't have many opportunities to meet people and while I've been interested in people IRL in the past I feel like it's borderline impossible to meet anyone naturally anymore.

I don't think it's required to have common interests but it would certainly help to have a few. I live and breathe cars and racing. I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to games and anime, I can't help but always refer to the good days but still find slivers of hope every so often, really though I blame trends and popular opinion for the loss in quality. I'm a big appreciator for things that are well-designed/engineered and are purpose built, I think I have a decent eye for subjective things but purpose built things are what makes my mouth water. Also am constantly fascinated by all the different ways to cook/bake things that I don't think I'll ever get tired of learning.

I really am not expecting much, I've had success with talking to some nice people over the years but like with everyone else no one stuck around and am pretty tired of all the mindgames people put others through. I'm pretty cold at times but I'm not heartless, just waiting for the right person to open up to. It seems I have come to an impass with my time. My human requires a companion. He has become quite bothersome to my plans of household destruction. Thwarting my efforts to conquer the entire space. That's where you come into my devious plan. I wish for you to distract my human; take him out of the dwelling for periods of time so that I may see my plans come to fruition. With his attention off of myself I may go about my plans uninhibited.

My human is very tall by my standard of measurement (6’5ish). His strength knows no bounds as he lifts me with such carefree ease (this could become a problem for me one day). He also flaps his gums at me often, staring at me with his big blue eyes in a faint hope I am listening. I do enjoy his taste in moving images on the magic box though. A game of swatting an object into a yarn netting on frozen water. This game intrigues me.

While he does feed me (when I tell him of course) and give me endless enjoyment of cleaning up after my droppings, I do suppose he also requires some fulfillment apart from merely being my human.

Should you help with my efforts I will grace your lap with my presence and purr to my satisfaction. This is by far the highest regard one can give.
