Was wondering if any NIN have pushed tanking to the limit and what content they were able to clear main tanking for a party? I’ve read through most of BGwiki as well as Logicals guide. Maybe I missed some of it but is there a guide including the new Empy+3 sets and its tanking capabilities ? It seems a lot of it has pretty good stats for that.

I’m leaving towards making a Nagi just for funzies and playing with it. I’m already aware NIN is in a weird spot because of AOE attacks wiping all shadows.

Wondering how it might fare with -DT, MEva, enmity stacked in something like sortie, ambu, Ody etc with empy +3 with a nagi and maybe a Tsuru. Well aware of the damage not being DD worthy

Anyone know what addon or plugin this is?

I only have RUN 99 with THF on the way up. It seems all I'm doing is using what little sparks I can get to sell items for gil. Apart from that, it looks like crafting isn't work it for gil for me atm, and trying to sell mats on the AH takes forever. Any suggestions? I know everyone has their secrets but...

I reached level 70 Smithing and Goldsmithing, but having a hard time to figure out what to make for money. I feel like selling things on the AH is impossible due to NPC selling a lot of resources and stuff.

Can I even make money at this level?

For clarity: this is in retail.

Fishing skill: 110

Rod: Lu Shang +1

Wearing: head +1, body +1, hands +1, legs +1, feet +2

Advanced support for +2

Fish stall for Mega Moglification: Fishing for +5

So I should have effective skill of 123.

I get that "you lost your catch due to lack of skill" is going to happen at the higher tiers of fish but there are some that I absolutely cannot catch. Not low percentage, just can't catch. Cave Cherax and Far East Puffer for example. Despite over 200 combined bites between the two, not one has caught.

Is there any other way to get any more skill points?

Also, how does fishing fatigue work with lack of skill? Or does it work differently on high level fish? I keep getting fatigued really fast in the day without having caught any fish. I get that a lack of skill message should count as 1 but I feel like it's counting as 5 catches because I get fatigued so fast. Today was less than 50 bites. No catches.

I’ve been playing with this build that is really weird, but has turned out to be my favorite, and was wondering what crazy builds you all have started playing and really enjoy.

So for mine it is DRG/DNC running dual wield with Kaja Sword (someday will become Naegling).
Dragoon is already my favorite job from even back in the old 75 cap days. 💜 my wyvern!
Jumps and the healing & TP gain from wyvern is already great.
/DNC has been great with the utility of sambas (haste or drain), pocket heal to go with healing breath if things get hairy, lethargy debuff to weaken tough enemies, and a free sneak/invis to help with exploring.

I know it’s not an ideal or optimal build at all, but it’s really fun. 😁👍

Hello everyone,

I have been working on a simple, easy to follow, "to the point" mission guide, and now that it is closer to completion, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help finalize the guide.

Many have already suggested adding this to BGwiki, which is still possible, but I would like it to be 100% complete before doing that.

The things I need done still:

1.) The rest of WotG, and all of San d'Oria missions written. (This I can do myself, but any help appreciated.)
2.) Finishing up unfinished missions. (Some just say ?!?! and are incomplete.)
3.) Creating useful maps with no other markers except for the purpose of the mission its used for.
4.) Cleaning up, proof reading, correcting mistakes.
5.) I also would need them to be tested to be assured no errors, once its complete.
6.) Any and all feedback.

(Note: Take note, that the Bastok mission "The Chains that Bind Us" is the new suggested format for spacing moving forward. I still need to go back and re-edit all the information to reflect this change. Bear that in mind while leaving any feedback/helping.)

I did not want to ask for help on this, but its proving to be quite the task.

Hey guys I wanted to know if there is a way to store everything, or almost everything in you inventory, in the mogle and then taking it all back again using addons? I was trying to do it using Organizer but I couldn't figure it out. I mostly want to do it becouse whenever I enter the mog farm and want to pick up everything I always have my inventory kinda full and have to do multiple trips to sell so I thought it could be better to clear it every time I go in the garden do all the garden stuff and then get all my stuff again

I'm a veteran of the game but never really finished anything and been getting my girlfriend to play. I'm working on a prototype that turns FFXI into a Tower Defence game (hoping to eventually get it working on Android/iOS). I would love to get some feedback on the initial gameplay to make sure I'm heading in the right direction with stats etc... (we all know how complicated end-game is lol).

There are various ways to make new friends and meet people in FFXI. The first recommendation is to find a Linkshell via Linkshell Concierge NPCs. If you check these NPCs directly after a maintenance, this is typically a good way to find active Linkshells. Another suggestion is to find a community website for your server; many servers have a Facebook group (some are listed on the subreddit sidebar). The subreddit also has a Discord server for chatting/voice.

I don't do much endgame so I've been sitting on maxed UA on multiple toons for years now. I now find myself needing a lot of money. What's a good way to use the UA to get money? I am currently sitting on mostly Ambuscade gear, afterglow REMA weapons, and some pieces here and there I picked up while going through the Aeonic series of mobs.

Also looking for something to farm in general at that level. Previously I made my money through Alexandrites which sell very consistently, but I figure there must be something better at my gear level.

Hello. I'm planning on trying the trial with a friend soon, and I have a few questions. I also have a few from my friend that I'll be asking on their behalf. I'm aware of the FAQ on this subreddit, and have read it, but I was hoping to see what current players are thinking. Apologies for this being kind of long or if we missed things that should be obvious.

The first question is "how much will the trial limit our enjkyment of the game?" The info of what the limits are are clearly posted, but do those things harm the experience drastically? We have an idea from when we were on the FF14 trial, but that's a very dofferent game so the limits might affect the experience differently. For example, on the 14 trial we got around not being able to form parties together by having a passerby player invite us both to once and then leave us to play together, which made it not a huge deal. Is that kind of thing possible on the 11 trial?

Second question is regarding which server might be a good pick. I don't know how often that kind of thing changes, so I thought I'd ask what the community is thinking at the moment.

Third question is "how much does your starting city matter?" I imagine it's like 14 in that it's a difference in opening plot beats, but, again, 11 is a very different game.

Fourth one is from my friend. Their favorite jobs in 14 are SMN and SCH, and they're interested in the subjob system allowing the two to be mixed. We are aware SCH is an expansion job, but my friend is curious if the combination is viable. Not meta or notably powerful, mind you, but viable.

Fifth is from me and is about starting job. I tend to be indecisive, but I know you can swap jobs easily. About long long does it take to reach the point where you can do that?

Apologies again for that being a bit verbose. We've heard a lot of good things about 11, so we want to do what we can to get off on the right foot with the game. We appreciate any answers and/or advice.

I've also used Windower but foolishly added a bunch of plugins and addons without knowing what they do when I started lol. Removed and added the ones I want now but can't seem to get rid of this one, anyone know the name of it so I can remove it? It's blocking the menu and it's just not appealing
