where did some of you learn Esperanto
Hello, I wanna ask about sth I'm not familiar with reddit and Eng is not my first language, so if I did sth rude plz let me know🥺🥺
I'm interested in articial languages. but as a Korean, I can't agree that esperanto is easy to learn... and many other constructed languages(based on european) too I think most of international artificial language projects depend on european languages too much, and this makes hard for them to be an international language (this sentence doesn't mean this is the only reason!!)
do you have any reputation or additional info about this idea?
thx
I see a lot of good videos with good quality from a variety of people. Yet it will show a couple dozen to a couple hundred people who view it. Occasionally there’s a video that trends for a day or two reaching thousands of people, but it’s rare.
We need active repetitive videos with English speakers, Spanish speakers, etc popping out content.
This is a post where you can ask any question you have about Esperanto! Anything about learning or using the language, from its grammar to its community is welcome. No question is too small or silly! Be sure to help other people with their questions because we were all newbies once. Please limit your questions to this thread and leave the rest of the sub for examples of Esperanto in action.
Recently, I read this statement:
I generally understand the story about The French voting down Esperanto to be a myth.
Then I say: let's present the facts (as detailed by Edmond Privat in his book "Historio de la Lingvo Esperanto" and by Ulrich Lins in his book "Dangerous Language — Esperanto under Hitler and Stalin"):
TLDR; France has always opposed Esperanto in the League of Nations (not without help, for sure), and its opposition definitely sealed Esperanto's fate in the League...
BUT!
Esperantists of the time were realistic about Esperanto's chances in the League: they did not foresee officialization on the horizon, nor did they any faith in the League's capabilities to enforce such a decision. Hence, the goal of Privat's initiatives within the League was mainly propaganda, and measured by that standard, it had a measure of success, especially after 1923.
EDIT: Fixed the order of events and added a few sentences and additional facts, and one more sidenote: Prime Minister Raymond Poincaré was also a member of the Academie française since 1909.
Saluton! Mi estas komencanto kaj volas diri saluton. Mi ekas je 2024-12-12 kaj estas felica esti ci tie :)
Hello
I am very early in my Esperanto journey and am looking to improve my skills by trying to do a play-by-post roleplaying game in Esperanto.
I have zero details worked out yet but is there anyone interested in this type of idea?
Hej, sal'. Hieraŭ nokte mi afiŝis novan blogaĵon. Ĝi estas eltiraĵo de An Anthropologist On Mars de la psiĥiatro Oliver Sacks kaj tiu ĉapitro specife parolas pri la sperto de Temple Grandin, aŭtisma verkisto.
Oni povas legi la blogaĵon aŭ aŭskulti ĝin kiel podkastaĵon. La legado daŭras 6 minutojn. Jen la ligilo, se iu interesiĝas: https://lastajneuxronoj.wordpress.com/2024/12/10/antropologo-en-marso/
Wondering if I should learn it as my next language
I'm sorry for asking this in English, my Esperanto is not very good.
What features/aspects of Esperanto do you like? It can be anything (grammar, word building, culture, etc).
