Hey, does anyone have an idea / estimation of the date and time ED results come out? Or like when they usually give us the official date? TIA
Hi to the people who got in. Would you mind sharing your stats? Or can you say if your GPA was under the average and you got in? I am worried because my GPA is a bit below average for Emory.
Hello!!
i’m a first year student and am probably going to fail one of my courses. For context, i’m creative writing and am in a general B+/A- for most of my classes except for one. It’s a class that doesn’t fulfill any GERs or apply to my major in any way (i took it because i thought it would be fun but it’s not!) and made the change to have it be graded on a S/U basis a month or two ago. i currently have a 75 in the class with two cumulative assignments left in the semester and was wondering what would happen if i got an unsatisfactory on my transcript?
also, is a B+/A- range good, because that wasn’t really my range in highschool, and was wondering if that is not great for college standards?
Hi! I'll be coming to Emory for a semester abroad in the Spring of 2025. This is the schedule I've managed to compile so far, what do you think in terms of course quality and workload?
If you have recommendations for high quality, very interesting, or just easily passable courses, please let me know!!
Also, since my university requires me to complete only 13 credits, do you have any cool ideas for a course with only 1 or 2 credit(s) that can replace one of my choices? It can be non business related, but it has to be:
- non sports
- not language related
- not creative
- 3XX or 4XX level
Just curious, nothing showing when I tried googling and I don't have or follow local news.
I’m heavily considering Emory as my backup law school and just wanted to ask what it is like being at Emory as a gay student. I attended an extremely liberal university in a major northeastern city for undergrad and I just have a feeling that Atlanta and Emory may be a bit different than what I’m used to (not that I feel Emory/Atlanta would expose me to more homophobia or anything, just that it will be different). Could anyone share their experience with the community in general, the dating scene, or really anything they feel relevant to life as a gay student at Emory?
On the website it says that we need to apply in first semester junior year and that proficiency in advanced programming and calculus will be used to evaluate applicants.
Does this just mean I just need to do well in the prereq classes or do they reject a bunch of applicants on the grounds of not having enough CS-related ECs or passion? Any input from BBA/MSBA applicants would be appreciated!
Hi guys,
I'm kinda nervous for the upcoming QTM100 final, as it's been observed that this year, the averages for the girl J. Kim class itself haven't been so great. I've identified that I've been passively studying which is why I'm probably not doing well in the class (I have an 82 thus far and I want to try and get it up to at least an 88-90). Are there any other ways to study that will increase my chances of getting a high A in this final? I've tried using the practice exams that the professor provides us, the LA worksheets, and the practice exercises in the book, but it feels like the questions in the exams are harder...
Hey so basically pretty interested in the lore of what frat houses were which/ why frats got moved or kicked off campus. Ik the media outreach and African student alliance building used to be frat houses. Does anyone know the lore?
I did courses like (NBB 300 - Music and the Brain) and (NBB 299 - Explore NBB Research) and am planning to do another elective (NBB 370 - Special Topics in NBB - Sleep/Dreaming/Brain/Mind) next spring. And later I plan to do NBB 495 (Research) for 2 semesters. Will these be counted towards science GPA for med school admissions. How about NBB 301/302/401 ?
And along the same lines, how about BIO courses like BIOL 247 - Ecology ?
i’m very scared y’all. this has been my dream school since i was 8 years old. i took a tour of campus 3 times and love it more and more. if i don’t get in i’ll be sad but other options will be georgia state, spelman college, and UGA as i want to stay close to my family. can y’all offer some encouragement as i await the decision? i am a competitive candidate with the only worry that i didn’t submit my test scores, and that they might not see me as a good fit for the class.
edit: i also applied to the oxford campus and would love to attend this as well
Does anyone know how often people drop BIOL 241?
How strict is Emory about the alcohol policy for underage students . Are there many restrictions on frat/sorority parties as well? Is the social scene extremely dead? Any answers would be appreciated !

Hi, I’m looking for someone to take over my lease starting from January Spring semester (female only). It’s a 3 minute drive from the Clairmont campus at Clairmont Reserve. The lease runs form January to May so it’s through the school year!
It is a 1 bed room with shared shower and toilet (but you get your own private sink area). It’s the Primray bedroom, so it is the larger of the two bedrooms in the apartment!
Rent is: 1191.95, with water included!
Please dm if you’re interested!

Hi, what study suggestions do you have for the CHEM150 lab final and if you took the final how hard was it on a scale from 1 to 10?
Hey,
Can people applying for housing solo choose a single room in a 4 bedroom apartment, or does it have to be 4 people in a set? And what are the chances of getting a 4 bedroom in URC with four people. Is it smaller than getting a 3 bedroom in CRC?
Would it just be better to apply for housing by myself if I want to increase my chances of getting a single room?
Hi everyone, I’m planning on going to Emory for the MN/MSN nursing program in the summer, does anyone have any experience with/without a car here? Is it necessary to have one?
What are the best study spaces on campus? Be specific and give directions if needed?
Did anybody receive an email from Emory requesting a music supplement? If so, did you send one?
Hey guys, I’m a prospective student (international) and I’m considering Emory as my ED2 but I’m a little bit conflicted . Since I can’t visit campus myself I thought I’d ask the students here a few quick questions . do u like Emory? Are u happy there? What are the freshman dorms like? How hard is it to switch majors ? What is the food in the dining halls like? Is there any social/ party scene? Any responses will be appreciated, thanks !
I took a college English class over but was told I didn't receive any transfer credit from that. About a week ago, I was told that there was an error on the transcript they received, I sent them another copy, and it turns out I did receive credit, but not to any equivalent that Emory offered. My ecs teacher and OUE advisor told me that I could try to appeal for credit and that it might count for that English requirement, but I haven't received anything back so far (it says it may take four weeks, so I knew that was a possibility.) My OUE advisor is out until December 2nd so I don't really know who else to ask but should i just register for that English class either way? i think that makes the most sense since my past class may not transfer, but if it does it might lead to conflicts with filling up my schedule hours
