Current sophomore, just completed cs253 and cs224. They were completely impractical all theory. Little to no practice coding. I have looked at other schools curriculums and they all seem to have much more actual practice involved with these classes. Does it get better with the higher level courses or are they all taught as badly? I love it here but if it doesn’t change I might have to transfer.
The main reason why I want to apply for Emory is to hopefully get into their nursing program which I heard was no. 1.
I already got rejected from UPENN for their ED1 and Emory's nursing program appealed to me because I heard its nursing program was just as good or even better. However, I did some research and I saw that it ED 2 for Emory almost has the same rates for going RD.
Since I am applying for nursing how hard would it be for me if I were to consider doing ED2 compared to RD? Would my chances be better for ED 2 or RD in general?
Thank you for the help!
(my stats are also not the best but I have many strong extracurriculars dedicated to my passion for my major)
UW GPA 3.71 W GPA 4.17 (10+ APs)
Some Extracurriculars: medical internship, CNA certification (100+ hours of clinicals at a hospice), 200+ hours of hospital volunteering, CPR/BLS certified, research articles on cancer, HOSA SLC competitor etc.)
4.0 gpa Test optional Good amount of extracurricular activities including volunteer work at non profit organization’s Not much rigorous courses, only 5 AP classes and 4 dual enrollment courses Couple awards within the classes I think my personal essay is very good but it might be a bit general(immigrant story kind of thing) My Supplemental essays are rly good I’m really just relying on my essays to carry me 😭 Applied to do Buisness(Finance) also is it worth it to go to Emory for finance?
Stats:
3.91 GPA (Test Optional)
International student
Research project in Math, Physics and Nuclear fusion.
Top National Ranked Tennis Player.
International Chess 2200 rated
do u guys think its a good idea to ED2 to Emory or just ed2 to other low ranked school?
please help!!
Basically the title. Any interview invite? Or admission?
I'm an international IB student in a public school, and I want to ask whether 4.0 average weighted GPA is ok for applying ED2. I have 41/45 predicted, but I only have a 4 in Chinese A since my school didn't offer Chinese B for my year (although I spent most of my childhood studying in and English-based country). i wonder if these grades will be sufficient or if my Chinese will heavily impact my application... thanks!
I’m in my last year at Emory, and I just realized I might have an issue with my SNTL (Science and Technology with Lab) requirement. I’m a QSS and Anthropology major with a CS minor, and I’ve taken plenty of classes that seem like they should count—CS 170, QTM 210, QTM 220, and MATH 210, to name a few.
All of these were 4 credits, had lab components (lots of coding), and seem like they’d fit under the SNTL category, but none of them are showing up there. From what I understand, the GERs changed a bit, so maybe that’s why?
Has anyone had experience getting a requirement like this waived or substituting a class for it? If so, who did you reach out to? Any advice would be super helpful—thanks!
Hey anyone subleasing next semester.
Im worried about taking the PHYS 141/142 sequence during the school year. Has anyone heard or have any thoughts on how relatively difficult the physics sequence is at Emory during the summer??
Hi! I'm thinking of ED2'ing to Emory. I was rejected ED1 from UChicago. My stats are:
Do you think that my GPA will cause me to be instantly filtered out, or will my high level of course rigor and SAT compensate for that?
How good is the Emory math major. Do Emory math majors have strong placement into competitive jobs and graduate schools?
Thank you for your help.
I am high school senior interested to join Emory. I want to make my career in IB or wall street. I am looking at BBA which has finance area depth. Would BBA be sufficient to break into IB? Should I plan to do economics or math from Emory college? If yes, is it possible to have dual major in BBA and Economic/Math. Thanks in advance
This is super random but has anyone taken PE 112 swimming? I’m a senior looking to take a 1 credit class that allows me to try something I haven’t done before on campus. Any insight into how the class is? Thanks!!!
I’m from Oxford College and just ended with another C+ in Chem203, while having Chem202 ending with a C+ as well. Are my Pre-Dental dreams over? I’m really looking forward to Bio142 as Biology is my strong suit, and I’m doing well in other Pre-Dental prereqs such as Psychology, English classes, basically having A’s in every other class BUT chemistry.
Please be brash and honest.
Hello, I am an incoming exchange student at Emory in the spring semester. I was interested in taking math 362. How difficult is it? How’s the final exam? How are the group projects?
Has anyone done Lse summer school and received credit. Can’t find anything online
Hello! I am currently a Pre-med student at Georgia State University, but I am looking into getting a masters at Emory to become a CAA.
I was wondering if the university that I receive my undergrad degree from will have a large effect on the likelihood of my acceptance to a highly ranked school like Emory?
Thanks for any advice!

Hey y'all, I'm a Junior majoring in Math/CS, and I have been working at a summer camp for my first two summers, and I am going to work there one last time this summer. But I know how important internships are for getting a job. So does anyone have a similar experience where their only chance of getting an internship was Senior year? I know I'll technically be graduated by then, but I've seen some applications that are open to Seniors. So if anyone has advice or experiences I'd really appreciate it!
Just curious, I wouldn't think so but I wanted to know especially since different colleges calculate differently.
Hi guys! I recently got accepted into both Emory campuses !! They said our financial aid awards should already be available but I don’t have a status update on mine. I emailed the financial aid office but I haven’t heard anything back yet, is this happening for anyone else 😭?
Hello, my son got into Emory Oxford and he is very much interested in doing AFROTC. Since Oxford is not a host school, the closest I see is GTech. Anyone has done/doing ROTC at Oxford?
Thanks
I'm an international student trying to set a bank account. Is there any advice and experience that you could share with me that could help me to decide which bank to use?"
If anyone would be interested, dm me or comment below your interest, and we can get an Instagram group chat. Please have Emory 29’ or something similar in your bio though, so I can identify students to add (I’d prefer not adding random users lol)
Hi, I am trying to increase my chances of getting in I will hopefully attend the nursing major all help is appreciated
One of the material types listed is "Video," but I couldn't find for sure in any FAQs. If so, that would be really cool! I'm testing it out as a request currently, so I guess I'll report back either way lol.
hii! i applied to Emory as a nursing transfer but haven’t received any communication or anything regarding my application. did anyone receive any communication or a decision release? per my understanding they were supposed to be released today.

Hey, I'm looking to transfer to do Emory's creative writing degree, but it looks like I can not transfer into the Oxford college? Is it possible for me to just apply with regular admissions and still get in? What options do I have?
I am looking to do a Creative Writing degree, but UGA does not have the classes that I want. However, I am in the process of completing a double-major and I don't know if I could do my double major at Emory.
What do you know about the Creative Writing Program? Is it worth it?
Hello! I am planning to travel for the holidays and wondering if anyone knows someone who can cat sit or knows any reputable cat sitting service.
