My name is Mandy La Guardia, and I am an associate professor at the University of Cincinnati. We’re hoping to recruit adults (18+) with a history of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury to participate in research. This research study has been approved by the IRB at the University of Cincinnati (IRB Study Number 2024-0462). Participation in the survey is anonymous.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical outcomes and processes associated with the treatment of youth NSSI. Phase one of this study involves a brief online survey, at the end of which participants can indicate interest in an interview. If you elect to be interviewed and meet criteria, you will receive monetary compensation for your time.
Eligible individuals will be 18 years or older with a history of non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors (cutting, burning, etc.) who attended counseling as a youth and are willing to complete a 10-minute survey reflecting on their experiences in treatment as well as report on their current mental health.
The survey link and informed consent can be found here: https://uceducation.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_57GcXv6zeFf1AVM

Here's some doctorly advise : please check your thyroid function & other hormones like pro-estrogen, cortisol, estrogens &testosterone.. & watch your caffeine& diet, before you decide to self diagnose with a mental disorder for depression & anxiety. Hope this helps. . Thyriods test include t3, t4 & tsh hormones. I had anxiety triggered for no reason. I thought was stress from my job (front lines) but it was my thyriods. You can Google side effects of hyperthyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Other hormones as listed above can contribute even birth control especially for women. Your doctor can get your results interpreted..if it's normal then go by a therapist& see about your mental health or let your doctor recommend the nest step. Happy Sunday.

Hello everyone,
I am creator of "Getbetter. io" app, which I posted about here some time ago. This is an app to connect people struggling with mental illness. You create account, select what bothers you and then you can connect and chat with people sharing similar problems.
The online version is around for quite some time, but today I released native Android application, so that you can get all the benefits of notifications, quick messaging etc.
There is no spam or ads, the app is completly anonymous, you can delete account whenever you want.
Here is the link for browser version: https://getbetter-ui.vercel.app/
Here is the link to Google play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.getbetter_io
PS1. For iOS, I plan to release the app soon. Meanwhile you can use browser based version.
PS2. I am very happy to hear any feedback regarding the app.
When I was 16 I was diagnosed with OCD. earlier than that depression, but it seems that a lot of my depression symptoms stemmed from my OCD. It was both a very revealing, and concerning realization when my therapist told me that I most likely had OCD, but I believe it gave me answers I was looking for for a while. Shortly after, I had my first residential stay in treatment, and out of that, this song was born: https://sevonyoung.fanlink.to/sick-sevonyoung It relates to a feeling that, not only those affected by mental illness, but everyone can identify with. Helplessness in the face of things we feel we cannot change. I'm aware that this is founded in catastrophizing, however, I believe that it is important too acknowledge and recognize our irrational and untrue feelings when it comes to uncertainty, if we hope to overcome them. I hope someone may find peace within this song, if only temporarily.

Hello! I'm the creator of The Safe Zone, a mental health support Discord server catered toward users under 18 (though anyone is welcome!). We're pretty small right now, but if anyone is interested in joining, feel free to pop in with the link above.
We have channels for ranting/asking for support, as well as general chat channels for sharing your non-mental health interests and just generally getting to know the other people in the community. I personally know everyone currently on the server, and I can tell you that they're really kind, helpful people.
Feel free to join :) We're always looking for ways to help!
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anybody else was addicted to adult activity books the way I am?
(If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, here and here are some examples. I have a whole WL dedicated to it on Amazon, but I don’t want anyone to think I’m promoting my WL, so if you’re interested in the title and want the WL for inspiration and ideas, just let me know and I’ll send it. Or, just take a little jaunt around Chronicle Books, there are tons there.)
I have tons of them, and always want more. They are a great distraction and also bolster creativity. Many of them have given me ideas for my own creative projects that aren’t related to the books themselves.
