From near Australia and family Heterodontidae (horned sharks, bullhead sharks), a new species named the ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ป๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ (๐๐ฆ๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ต๐ถ๐ด ๐ฎ๐ข๐ณ๐ด๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ). The new ๐๐ฆ๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ต๐ถ๐ด species is distinguished by its genetics and barred color pattern. ๐ท: CSIRO

This ghost-like octopod was recently discovered by NOAA on the Pacific Ocean seafloor near Hawaii at 4,290 meters (14,075 ft) deep. Believed to be a previously undescribed species, 'Casper' has a partially translucent appearance and a small body; mantle length 6.4 cm (2.5 in).
